One of the big pros of natural makeup looks is that it’ll never go out of fashion. Actually, it’s more trending now than ever! The term ‘no makeup makeup look’ is thrown around everywhere. Everyone wants to achieve this, but how? No worries, I got you! I’ve gathered 15 gorgeous natural makeup looks as our inspiration and will share super easy-to-follow tips to recreate the no makeup makeup look within minutes!

Natural makeup looks aren’t only trending because of how quickly you can achieve them, no no… it’ll also help you accentuate your beautiful facial features without anything too dramatic. In the end, mastering a no makeup makeup look is a must nowadays. For our inspiration today, I’m turning to Pinterest – it’s where you can find literally everything – so mind you that the photos I’m sharing are not mine and I don’t claim them to be mine either. It’s for inspirational purposes only.

After the inspiration looks I’m about to share, I’m going over the products you need to recreate that perfect no makeup makeup look yourself. Keep reading for the holy grail recommendations!

15 Natural Makeup Looks Inspiration

If you look at our 15 beautiful women as our inspiration, you can see that one has added a little more than the other (which is totally fine, you’re free to do so as well!) but they have the following things in common: a glowy base, no or light coverage foundation, a very natural flush of color on the cheeks, and natural, brushed upwards brows. So we can conclude that this is the basic ‘no makeup makeup look’ and from here you can add a little mascara, a nude lipstick, lip liner or gloss, a highlighter for extra glow, and/or a tiny bit of eyeshadow or a soft winged liner.

How To Achieve A Natural Makeup Look Yourself

So now that we figured out what the basics for a natural makeup look are, I’m going to share the application steps and the absolute must-have products to achieve the same results as the inspiration I’ve shared above.

Glowy Base

To recreate that stunning no makeup makeup look, we’re going to start with our base. Start off with prepping your skin the right way, which means applying your serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen first. If you have dry skin or you decided to not wear any tinted moisturizer/CC cream on top, I recommend going for hydrating and glow-adding skincare products.

For example, the LYS Beauty Think Bright Glow + Hydrate Serum with Vitamin C & Hyaluronic Acid is amazing for adding glow to the skin. I also really love The Inkey List Omega Water Cream Moisturizer as this is lightweight and leaves a glow on the skin too. Last but not least, an amazing sunscreen for glowy skin (while protecting you + the environment) is the Supergoop Glowscreen SPF 40. If you don’t like to switch up your skincare routine or want to add even more glow, try the Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Illuminating Primer.

If you have oily skin, you might want to start with a less dewy base to prevent looking greasy and shiny. Products that are amazing for a more mattified look are the Caudalie Vinopure Oil-Controle Moisturizer, Supergoop Mineral Mattescreen SPF 40, and/or a mattifying primer such as the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Mattifying Primer.

If you would like to still have some coverage, go for a tinted moisturizer or a CC Cream. My absolute favorites are The Fenty Beauty Skin Tint (read my review here), the Tower 28 SunnyDays Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector SPF 30, and bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30. I personally like to add a dot of concealer under my eyes too, for a bit of a brightening effect. I really love the Kosas Revealer Super Creamy & Brightening Concealer and the Dior Backstage Flash Protector Concealer for this.

Soft Sculpted & Colored Cheeks

My absolute favorite part is the cheeks, especially blush. You’ll get the most natural-looking result using a cream blush, as these just blend and sink right into the skin. Moreover, they often leave a pretty, subtle dewy glow on the cheeks which is what we like! My blush collection is insane so it’s hard to pick my favorites, but I would totally recommend trying the Tower 28 BeachPlease Luminous Tinted Blush, Patrick Ta Major Beauty Headlines Double Take Crème & Powder Blush, or Rose Inc Blush Divine Radiant Lip & Cheek Color.

Adding bronzer is more optional in my opinion, however, this is very helpful if you want to recreate that bronzed summery no makeup makeup look. I also think that bronzer/contour helps you sculpt the face which is basically enhancing your features. Again, I would recommend trying a cream bronzer like Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Sun-Kissed Glow Bronzer, Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer, or Tower 28 Bronzino Illuminating Bronzer because these will look so naturally bronzed.

If you have oily skin or you just want to make sure everything stays in place, I recommend going over your cream blush and/or bronzer with a powder blush and/or bronzer. You can pick your favorite products to use on top. If you don’t want to add more color, opt-in for a translucent setting powder that isn’t mattifying. My two all-time favorites are the Kosas Cloud Set Setting Powder and the Dior Beauty Backstage No Powder Powder.

Brow Products

If you have full brows, you’re blessed because a natural brow is a vibe we’re going for and so this doesn’t require a lot of work for you, just brushing it up and into place. To keep your brows in place, I recommend using a clear brow gel such as Kosas Air Brow Clear + Clean Eyebrow Gel, the Glossier Boy Brow Gel, or the Patrick Ta Major Brow Lamination Gel. If your brows require a tad stronger hold, go for the Patrick Ta Major Brow Shaping Wax or the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze Styling Wax.

If you don’t have full brows yourself, use a brow pencil to softly create the right shape or fill in little gaps with The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz or Kosas Brow Pop Clean Dual-Action Defining Eyebrow Pencil. Use a brow gel that I mentioned above to make sure the brows stay in place all day, every day.

Additional Products For A Little More

Highlighter

Tried the dewy base but still not enough glow for your preferences? Just add a gorgeous, wet-looking highlighter to finish off the look. Use the highlighter on the tip of your nose, your cheekbones, and a bit onto your cheeks as well (not only the highest points, just drag it onto your cheeks over your blush), and a tiny bit above each brow. My favorite highlighters for a wet-looking glow are the Charlotte Tilbury Multi-Glow All Over Glow Highlighter, BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector (since BECCA is sadly out of business, you can still get their products at Smashbox!), and the Kylie Cosmetics Kylighters.

Mascara

I just love mascara since my lashes are short, straight, and just not looking so good as they do with mascara. For the people that are on the same page as me, it’s okay to add a little mascara to your neutral makeup looks. My personal favorite mascaras at the moment are the Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara, the Pat McGrath Dark Star Volumizing Mascara, and the NARS Climax Mascara.

Eyeliner

Eyeliner may sound a little bit too much for a no makeup makeup look but you can easily create a very subtle and soft line to slightly lift the eyes. Try using a brown eyeliner such as the Benefit Roller Liner Liquid Eyeliner or grab your favorite neutral palette and grab a dark brown shade to create a very soft line of shadow. This is easily one of my favorite methods to create a liner look, lift the eyes a bit but so soft it almost looks natural.

Lips

For the lips, I recommend trying to keep it nude as this looks the most natural obviously. the most natural makeup look is adding just a little bit of lip liner to accentuate your lips and then top it off with a lip balm or lipgloss. My favorite lip liners are the Huda Beauty Lip Contour 2.0, the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Liners, the Makeup By Mario Ultra Suede Lip Sculpting Pencils, and the Make Up For Ever Artist Color Pencil.

Actually, the brands mentioned for my favorite lip liners, also have my favorite lipsticks! So if you’re looking for lipstick as well, check out their websites because they have the most amazing, comfortable nude lipsticks. The Tower 28 ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly is my absolute favorite gloss formula ever.

Eyeshadow

A little bit of eyeshadow can actually give the eyes more depth and definition so going for a one-shade-darker-to-your-skin tone neutral shade isn’t such a bad idea. You may have a neutral palette laying around which you can use for this or, you might want to use your favorite bronzer as this works very well and looks super natural as well. If you’re in the mood for a new neutral palette, I really recommend the Makeup By Mario Master Mattes Palette, Dominique Cosmetics Transition Palette, or Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette.
