In today’s post, I’m going to help you with that! It may sound weird, but I just love an aesthetically pleasing makeup collection. If you are looking for ways to create this yourself, keep reading!

The above-mentioned products are my top three favorite products in each type of budget; however, in the rest of this post, I’ve included options for big collections and smaller collections, affordable options, and more expensive ones. It’s whatever fits your budget and makeup storage needs!

Seeing perfectly organized drawers full of makeup is actually one of the most satisfying things to see. But where on earth do you start with creating these organized and satisfying makeup drawers?

There are several ways to store your makeup, and it depends on how much space you have and how many products you own to decide what fits your needs best.

Before you start organizing your collection, you might want to do a makeup decluttering session first to make sure you’re only organizing products you’re actually using and which are not expired!

How To Store Makeup In General

Here are some of the best general makeup storage ideas for any budget and any space! You can get them at several shops and at different prices, so make sure to find something that fits your budget. I added my favorite products with a “shop” button for you to check out.

Makeup Storage

Decorative Trays

If you’re a sucker for aesthetics, you may want to consider putting your prettiest plates and trays to good use. Natural marble trays look chic whether in your bathroom or on your vanity. Decorative plates are also great options for adding character to your organized stash.

Use these to put your best fragrances, core makeup collection or skincare routine on display for an elegant (and organized) touch to any room.

Makeup Storage

Acrylic Vanity Organizer

One of the absolute best items for organizing makeup is an acrylic organizer or a makeup storage tower. Acrylic is sturdy, super easy to clean, and transparent. So you can easily spot all your fave products — which beats rummaging through five different drawers for one lipstick.

This acrylic organizer has drawers and holders to arrange your core collection of palettes, lipsticks, and makeup brushes.

Makeup Organizing Ideas

Lazy Susan & Rotating Organizers

Short on space with only a closet or shelf to store your makeup? The struggle of knocking over your bottles and lipstick while reaching for something in the back can be frustrating. That’s where a Lazy Susan or rotating organizer comes in. These rotating trays allow you to see and reach all your items with a quick spin without causing everything to topple over.

Makeup Storage

Brush Holders

Makeup brushes are a big part of doing your makeup, obviously. I think most beauty enthusiasts will have a bunch of them to store. The fun thing about brush holders is that we have quite some options.

You can buy an acrylic holder designed for brushes, but you can also use empty candle jars, a mug, a cute glass you found somewhere, or a little vase. You name it!

Makeup Organizing Ideas

Makeup Organizing Bag

Admittedly, this one may be a bit on the nose — especially if you’re already stashing your beauty kit in a bag. But try looking for a sturdy makeup bag with various compartments to group your items. These will allow you to easily arrange your on-the-go beauty must-haves and find them.

I mostly use makeup bags when I’m traveling, but it could also be a great way to store your makeup if you don’t have a lot of space.

Makeup Organizing Ideas

Portable Shelves & Utility Carts

If you’re the type to move between your bathroom and bedroom while getting ready, why not arrange your makeup on a shelf with wheels or a utility cart?

This way, your makeup won’t only be neatly stored together, but it’ll also be easy to move to wherever you feel like getting ready.

Makeup Storage

A Beauty Fridge

You may think that a beauty fridge is specifically designed for skincare products, but did you know that you could also store makeup products in there?

Either way, a beauty fridge is a great idea for storing several beauty products, especially if you live in a warm and humid climate. Your products are organized and stay good for a longer period of time, win-win!

How To Organize Lipsticks

Makeup Storage

Acrylic Lipstick Organizers

These were probably the first organizers I’ve bought, and I can’t live without them. Every time I open my lipstick drawer, I gasp. Just because it looks so neat and pretty, you can use them in your drawers, like me, or display them on your vanity or anywhere else.

If you pick acrylic, you’ll be able to see the lipsticks, so it’s a great way to store your prettiest lipsticks.

Makeup Storage

Acrylic Lipgloss Organizers

It didn’t take me a while before I added acrylic organizers for liquid lipsticks and lip glosses as well for the same reason as I had for the lipstick organizers. It makes them look super organized, and I still love these organizers.

My favorite ones are from TidyUps and byAlgory, but tons of other companies are selling organizers.

Acrylic Dividers

Some makeup palettes, like the Pat McGrath Subliminal Platinum and Patrick Ta Major Dimension Palettes, are simply too beautiful to store out of sight. So why not arrange your favorite palettes on an acrylic divider to be within easy reach.

Tight on money? An old-fashioned toast rack will do the same and add a quirky touch.

I really like organizers that are made to hold eyeshadow singles since those can roll around the drawer if they don’t get stored properly.

This is a very simple, affordable, and great solution to keep your single shadows in one place!

Drawer Organizers

If you’ve already got a few designated makeup drawers and are simply looking to tidy them up a bit, a great option is drawer organizers.

These go hand-in-hand with silverware organizers. But, because they come in various dimensions, they’ll fit just about every little nook of free drawer space.

Makeup Storage

Acrylic Powder Products Organizer

If you have an Alex drawer, you NEED Powder Products Organizers. This is not even a joke; I’m obsessed with them and haven’t found any other organizer that fits my drawer. I used other organizers before, which also worked but didn’t fill my drawer completely.

With the Ikea Alex organizers, I can easily store all my powder products without unused space. If you don’t have that many products, just a single organizer for powders will do though!

Makeup Storage

Acrylic Foundation Organizer

Another great option is the Acrylic Foundation Organizer, which is made to fit into your Ikea Alex drawer and can hold products that are best to store standing up, like foundation, primers, setting sprays, etc.

I have one of these, and I also store stick blushes, concealers, tinted moisturizers, sunscreen, liquid blushes/bronzer, and more in it!

Makeup Storage

Acrylic Eyeshadow Organizers

These acrylic organizers are specially made for the Ikea Alex drawers, so they fit perfectly. I personally LOVE that! It’s so good-looking yet easy to store.

They also hold a lot of palettes if you want to, but you can store them one by one, as you see in the picture.

Makeup Organizing Ideas

Fridge Organizers

These are handy if you’re stacking your makeup on shelves or looking to get more use out of your bookshelf. Use a few clear fridge organizers to arrange your different makeup items neatly.

Pop a few labels on them or sort your items by category, so they’re extra easy to spot.

Ikea Hofta Dividers

A really great-looking option is dividers in your drawers. You can DIY and create custom-made dividers with IKEA or another brand’s dividers, as you can cut them in the right size and shove them together.

I like these dividers because it’s a super affordable solution (I think I paid $3 for a set of 3) but still makes your drawers look organized, and it fits in every drawer, not just Ikea Alex drawers.

Nail Polish Organizer

Some amazing nail polish organizers on the market aren’t only perfect for nail polish but could also be used for makeup storage. If you want to display products or look for multi-purpose organizers, you’ll probably love a nail polish organizer!

Some of them are also created to hang on the wall, which could be a great solution if you have a small space to work with. Most of them are budget-proof too!

Shelf Storage Organizer

You probably have seen those already, but some acrylic organizers fit perfectly on a shelf or in a cabinet. My mom uses them in our cabinet (separately, not as a tower)! They hold spaces for different products to store lipsticks, powders, and brushes in just one organizer.

Everything is perfectly stored together but is still aesthetically pleasing to look at! Grab them at stores like Amazon or Walmart for a bargain.
