At the start of the new school year, you might be wondering what you exactly need. It can be pretty overwhelming and of course, you want to start your new school year perfectly organized and prepared. In today’s blog post I’m going to share several categories and tips in each and every category to help solve the what to buy when you’re back to school shopping nightmare.

1. School Supplies

This is actually the most important one to be fully prepared for school: school supplies. I can’t live without a planner. For me, it’s necessary to stay organized. I always buy a new planner for every new school year. If you don’t like a setup planner, you can DIY and buy a journal. This way it’s easy to set up a fully customized scheme to fit your wishes.

Then I always buy a couple of notebooks, so I can take notes in college. I love bringing my computer with me to a college, but I tend to get distracted pretty quick. Notebooks are perfect! You won’t get easily distracted and you have all your notes in one place. Of course, you need some pens, pencils, markers and stuff like that too. Markers and/or highlighters and sticky notes are my favorite supplies and I really recommend getting them!

For all of these items, I would definitely go to Target or Walmart. Both stores have everything you need and are very affordable! Most of my 5 Things You Need When Back To School Shopping you can find in there!

2. Electronic Gadgets

First things first, I really recommend getting a laptop if you haven’t one already. I bought one for my first year of college, a Macbook Air, and after 5 years it still works perfectly and I’m so glad I got it. I always made summaries so it would be easier to study. Moreover, if I forget a notebook I still had my laptop to take notes. Also, my teachers used online documents for colleges too, so it has been very helpful to have a laptop.

Most of y’all probably have one already, but a mobile phone definitely did get me through college. Not only because I could play games during boring classes (don’t do this lol) but we had a class group app and this way it was very easy to keep up to date or ask questions about upcoming exams.

Last but not least, I’m the worst in math and calculating. Through high school and college, I couldn’t live without a calculator lol. If you’re just as bad as me, I really recommend getting one.

3. Dorm Decor

2 tips down, still 3 tips to go from our 5 Things You Need When Back To School Shopping. I think we talked about the two most important things to be fully prepared for classes, but another important part is your dorm decor. If you’re going to college and you’ve got a dorm, you definitely want a cute place to live/sleep/study at. I love how Target has gathered everything you need for moving and for organizing. Check out here for some amazing inspiration! The Get Organized section is my favorite. Also, Walmart has gathered all the products you need for your dorm. Urban Outfitters has the cutest stuff too, definitely worth it.

4. Clothing

I don’t know if this is a normal thing or if it’s just me, but I love a new wardrobe for a new school year. I always went shopping with my mom for new clothes so I could start fresh. In my high school years, this was the most important thing to me since I wanted to fit in. I know that’s not a good thing, so please buy clothes you actually like. If you feel confident in your clothes, people can tell. Urban Outfitters and Asos have amazing clothes. I’ve listed my favorites in the widget beneath.

5. Accessoirries & Makeup

My favorite part about Back to School Shopping! Of course, makeup has to be included in my 5 things you need when back to school shopping tips. I’m also a sucker for some accessories, mostly jewelry though. I discovered Leo Mazzoti, a company with beautiful jewelry. I bought 2 bracelets from them a while ago and I love wearing them. Leo Mazzoti gave me a 10% discount code to share with you, how awesome?! If you use code beauty_mone at checkout, you’ll get 10% off! You’ll love the jewelry for sure.

I always make sure I have some easy applying and basic makeup products for school since I hate waking up early. Moreover, you sometimes don’t even want to wear (a lot) makeup to school. I’ll be putting my favorite affordable and drugstore makeup products to make your full look complete, in the widget beneath.
