I wasn’t planning on getting the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Jackie Aina Palette because I felt like the shade range wasn’t 100% my thing. Then I saw a lot of swatches and looks with the palette and I suddenly felt like I missed something I needed in my collection. So I ended up buying the palette and in today’s blog post I’m sharing my thoughts & swatches.

So as I said, a lot of swatches and looks made me really like this palette. On top of that, I had a 20% discount code which I could apply on the palette. Both these things made me buy the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Jackie Aina eyeshadow palette. I’m not really watching Jackie Aina on Youtube, but I do know her and I like her so I’m not mad I’m supporting her this way.

It has to be said that I think Anastasia Beverly Hills is releasing A LOT of products all in a very short time period. I love their palettes and I own almost all of them (see Soft Glam, Sultry, and Norvina reviews) but it’s hard to keep up if they’re releasing so many new products so quickly. I hope they’ll slow down a bit from now on.

Anyway, let’s dive into the review!

The packaging is a snake print with a holographic shift, which I think is super cool. Moreover, it’s not the same velvety packaging as most of the ABH palettes have and this means I won’t get as dirty as the velvet ones lol. The shade variety in this palette is huge, you can create a lot of different looks with this.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Jackie Aina Palette is a limited-edition palette created in collaboration with influencer Jackie Aina, featuring Jackie’s must-have eyeshadow and pressed pigment shades for straight-up gorgeous looks. Create everything from neutral matte eyeshadow looks to dazzling metallic makeup looks.

The shade in this palette:

  • Soleil (Metallic soft peach with a gold shift)
  • Supreme (Matte rosy pink)*
  • Pinker (Matte mid-tone cool plum)*
  • Big wig (Matte rich purple)*
  • Dwollahs (Metallic golden olive)
  • Credit (Deep matte plum brown)
  • Lituation (Metallic deep taupe with a violet shift)
  • Zamn (Sparkling rose gold)

  • Trust issues (Sparkling white gold)

The palette is limited edition, so if you’re interested I recommend checking out the Anastasia Beverly Hills website, Sephora or Ulta quickly. This palette retails for $45.

I have to admit, I was a bit shocked while swatching this palette. Supreme, Pinker, Big Wig, Credit, and Edges all came out very patchy on my arm. Especially the two purple shades Pinker and Big Wig are super patchy. I know, arm swatches don’t say everything so I obviously tried the palette on my eyes as well.

The metallic shades are very pigmented, swatched easily and I think they’re very pretty. I love the shades Zamn and Shookington. Sponsored is a very pretty shade that has a cool shift to it, which makes it look different in every light.

The matte shades gave me most of a problem while swatching as you can tell. But overall, I really like the color scheme in this palette. After swatching this palette, I just needed to see how this palette performed on the eyes. I have been pretty sick the past week (I have a urinal infection which causes a lot of pain, fever and overall feeling horrible) so I wasn’t able to try a full look. However, I had to play around with the palette on at least one eye.

I decided to make an eye look with the shadows which performed the worst on my arm. So I worked with Supreme as a crease color and blended it with Big Wig. On the edge, I put Pinker and also blended this a little bit into the crease with a very light hand. I mixed Zamn and Shookington together to put on the lid.

While I was working Big Wig into the crease, I felt like I had to blend a bit longer than I normally have to blend. It started off a bit patchy but after blending for a while, I think it worked out fine. Overall, I’m satisfied. This palette does need some more blending if you don’t want it to look patchy but in the end, it doesn’t look as bad as it did on my arm.

The palette is a bit powdery in the pan, but nothing really bad. I did have a lot of fallout on my face after using Zamn. You can tell in the picture I had glitters everywhere. This is something that you have to keep in mind while using that shade. I would recommend doing your foundation afterward or to set your undereye so you can wipe away the powder + access eyeshadow.

I don’t think the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Jackie Aina eyeshadow palette is bad and you can definitely work with it. However, I wouldn’t really recommend to people who are just starting with makeup or people who are looking for an ‘easy to work with’ palette.

I think the color scheme is making it worth to purchase the palette and I’m glad it ended up working fine on my eyes.

Did you try the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Jackie Aina palette?

See you next time loves,

xoxo Simone

  1. I received this palette for my birthday so I’m super excited to use it, but that is so disappointing that those two shades were so patchy. I love the look you created, but I’ll have to keep your advice in mind when I’m trying to blend out the matter on my eye. I love the outer packaging, too.

  2. How strange! In other photos I’ve seen on the internet, the colors (all of them) looks super pigmented and not patchy at all! Awesome post! 🙂

  3. Those swatches look so sus. I’ve swatched enough to know that even one swipe won’t make that kind of mark so I honestly won’t believe that that’s how they came out especially when I’ve seen firsthand the swatches on that palette. For the benefit of the doubt, could’ve gotten from a bad batch but those swatches girl….sure…

    1. Hi Melanie, thank you for your comment. I’m sad to hear you don’t believe the swatches I provided in this blog post. However, this is truly how the swatches came out. I create my swatches by rubbing my finger not too hard in the shadow and then I softly apply the product onto my arm. Then this is how they turn out. Hope this helped! Have a good day!
