I’m obsessed with Bali Body’s products. It’s hard to make a choice, but I do think their Self Tan Mousse is my favorite product. When Bali Body announced a new self tan product, I needed to try it! In today’s blog post, I’m going to tell you everything about the Bali Body Gradual Tan.

I love a good self tanning mouse (Bali Body’s fake tan products are truly amazing) during the summer but isn’t it super nice to look tan during the fall/winter as well? However, I don’t really reach for self tanning products in the fall/winter, because my skin is getting a lot dryer and I just tend to moisturize more. BUT THEN, Bali Body Gradual Tan launched! This is actually a moisturizer. This multitasking, hydrating body lotion allows you to gradually build up color & customize the perfect tan for your skin tone. You can even apply this every day! Sounds perfect right?!

I’m going to show you in today’s blog post if it’s a nice as it seems. I’ve been testing this product a while now, I’ve been making before and after shots and used it different ways to show you the effects. Before I show you the results, let me explain the ingredients.

Bali Body Gradual Tan

My New Favorite Self Tan Product? | Bali Body Gradual Tan Review

The bottle contains 200ml / 4.8 oz which is a lot. You definitely don’t need much product, since it’s very creamy and hydrating so it’s very easy to apply. The Gradual Tan retails for $25,95 which I think is a good price for the amount of product you get.

My Results

This is the most fun part, where we can see if the Gradual Tan actually works. I’ve been testing the product for a couple of weeks and different ways too so I could cover all your questions and thoughts. I’ve been taking photos at the same spot in my bathroom, around the same time so no cheating there!

Test 1: Applying Bali Body Gradual Tan 3 Times a Week

So on the left picture you see my clean, just shaved and exfoliated legs (yeah I’m a pale b*tch I know lol) and the right picture shows my legs a day after I applied the Gradual Tan. As you can tell, there’s a pretty huge difference after just one time using. It’s also streakless which I love too. The smell of the product is very nice and I love how moisturizing this feels.

The first test I did, was applying the Gradual Tan with one day in between (for example: I applied it the first time on Sunday, took a picture on Monday, applied a second layer on Tuesday, took a picture on Wednesday, applied the third layer on Thursday and took the last photo on Friday). I wanted to see how the fake tan looks when you don’t apply every day. As you can tell, I don’t really feel like the tan gets darker but it just stays the same. You can definitely see that I’m not as white as I was before I started using the product.

So conclusion: if you’re looking for a soft fake tan, apply the Gradual Tan 3 times a week. It’ll give you a smooth, streakless, not too intense fake tan. Moreover, this way the tan contains consistent.

Test 2: Applying Bali Body Gradual Tan Every Day

The left picture is my legs before using the Bali Body Gradual Tan. The right picture shows my legs after 4 days of using Bali Body Gradual Tan every day. As you can tell, applying the Gradual Tan every day makes a pretty huge difference! Don’t mind my feet, by the way, this happens when you don’t scrub and hydrate your dry spots good enough lol.

Conclusion: hydrate your dry spots lol. Another conclusion is that if you want a slightly darker tan, use the Bali Body Gradual Tan every day. It slowly builds up the tan and makes you look like you just came back from a sunny destination.

Test 3: Applying Bali Body Gradual Tan Just Once

Maybe a weird test but this way I wanted to show you how fast (or not) the Gradual Tan will disappear.

So I started this test after I applied the Gradual Tan 3 times a week. Then I didn’t use any products for 9 days and took a photo again (which you can see on the right). My legs do look weird in the right picture lol, but I just shaved them so I think that’s why you see a color difference. Anyway, I feel like this was the first day I didn’t really see much of the tan anymore. There’s some left on my feet and my knees, but these are my dry spots so I don’t think that’s weird. I didn’t scrub or hydrate them with other products, just to see how the Gradual Tan would disappear.

Conclusion: the Gradual Tan disappeared after 9 days and I didn’t even apply the Gradual Tan every day before I stopped. I wanted to test how to look it would take the Gradual Tan to disappear after using the product for 4 days straight, but because this blog post is taking me a while to write now, I decided to not try that out. I mean, if it stayed on 9 days after just 3 times a week of applying, it will stay on even longer when you apply it every day.

In the end, this product is slowly disappearing which I think is great. You definitely don’t need to reapply very often to look tan with this product.

Final Thoughts

I’m very enthusiastic about this product. It’s very hydrating, smells good and leaves a gorgeous fake tan. It’s still important to scrub and hydrate your dry spots a bit extra to make sure it won’t be streaky or patchy. I love how you don’t need to use this product every day to look tan, perfect for me since I’m a bit lazy when it comes to applying the product every day lol.

You don’t need a lot of this product so that’s a plus because there’s a lot of product in the bottle so you can do forever with this bottle. It’s definitely a perfect product for the people who would like to look tan all year round, but still, want to give the skin a little extra love by using a hydrating product. This Gradual Tan does both and I’m very satisfied!

I currently use a mouse fake tan and would prefer a gradual tan like this product.
