I feel like Bali Body is on a roll with releasing new, highly anticipated products. This week they’ve launched the Bali Body Self Tan Remover and I was able to test it out! Curious to see if this is a product you need in your life? Then keep on reading!

First of all, thank you so much to Bali Body for sending me the products for free.

The past week Bali Body launched its new product, a self tan remover. I think this is a genius product idea. I had to do some research to see if there are any other self tan removers on the market because I’ve never heard of it before.

Once I browsed the internet, I found out that Bondi Sands and St Tropez have similar products. I never knew this existed! Anyway, I won’t be able to compare the Bali Body Self Tan Remover to any other brand because I never tried a self tan remover but I can at least tell you if the Bali Body Self Tan Remover is worth it!

Bali Body’s new Self Tan Remover is an innovative foaming solution created
to remove any unwanted self tan or product build-up from the skin. Formulated with nourishing ingredients, it provides both a gentle & effective way to remove residue while leaving skin silky smooth. The newest product in Bali Body’s expanding self tan range is vegan, soothing & suitable for all skin types.

I’m probably not the only one who has applied a new layer of self tan over an old layer and ended up with a little bit of uneven self tan. This happens because of the product build-up. It is possible to just wear off your self tan but if you’re like me and want to contain that beautiful tan, getting rid of the old layer before applying a new layer sounds amazing.

So for the purpose of this review, I applied the Ultra Dark Self Tanning Mousse from Bali Body on my feet. Not how I normally would, no, I applied it extremely ugly and a pretty thick layer as well lol. Why would I do this?! I mean, I wanted to test out how good the formula actually is. If it can remover an ugly and thick layer, I’m pretty sure it’ll easily remove an old layer of self tan.

Moreover, I know some people who might be afraid of self tan, because “what if I mess up?” would be interested to see if you can actually fix your mistakes. So I thought, why not act like I totally mess up and see if the Self Tan Remover can fix this?

I gotta be honest though, I actually had so much fun messing up my self tan lol! It looked horrible so at least I and my family had a good laugh.

Step 1: Ruining my self tan

Do not try this at home lol. Again, I wouldn’t normally walk around like this and that’s why I tested it only on my feet so like nobody would actually see it beside my parents lol. Thank god for social distancing because I couldn’t really see people anyways haha!

I applied the Ultra Dark Self Tanning Mousse with the Bali Body Tanning Mitt, which is my favorite tanning mitt I have ever used. There is nothing wrong with either the self tanning mousse or the mitt, I did this on purpose.

The left picture is where I just applied the self tan and the right picture is taken after 2 days, right before taking it off. I wanted the self tan to sit a bit before I would take it off. Doesn’t it look so pretty? Oh my gosh, it’s so bad, isn’t it!

Step 2: Applying the Self Tan Remover

The mousse looks like normal mousse and the smell is actually not bad at all. It’s a lovely fresh smell and I can tell there’s cucumber in it. Sometimes self tanning products smell so chemical but I’m happy that none of the Bali Body products smell chemical at all.

I rubbed in the mousse and my feet actually felt really soft. After the mousse was fully rubbed in, I could tell that my feet already looked less gross lol. I left it on for 5 minutes as stated in the description.

Step 3: Rinse my feet

The left picture below has been taken after I let the remover sit for 5 minutes. As I already said, I saw a difference and I didn’t even wash it off just yet.

The right picture below shows my feet after I rinsed it and scrubbed it with the Exfoliating Mitt. I think it only took me like 3 minutes, everything rinsed off so quickly!

Also, the product and Exfoliating Mitt are a great combination because my feet felt so smooth and soft afterward. It worked super easy and effective!

That’s it! You’re good to go and apply a new layer of self tan! I’m actually impressed by how easy this was. I haven’t tested any other self tan removers so I can’t compare their effectiveness but I really like this product!

I looked for any cons but I just couldn’t find one. It’s easy to use, doesn’t smell bad, makes my feet feel soft. I don’t have any complaints!

I personally think that the Exfoliating Mitt made it even easier and quicker so I would definitely recommend both the products. A little heads up: don’t expect the Exfoliating Mitt to be as soft as the Self Tanning Mitt. The reusable Bali Body Exfoliating Mitt will not only effectively remove unwanted tan but it will also gently exfoliate to prepare your skin for your next seamless, natural-looking self tan.

  1. I don’t use self tanner, but I still enjoy this post anyway. I love how you tested everything on your feet! This stuff clearly works wonders, as evidenced by the before and after shots.

  2. LMAO I was chuckling when you described how you purposely applied the self tanner messily and then when I saw the photo! This really does look like it works quite well!

  3. I feel so stupid because I have Bali Body’s fake tan (which I need to review soon) but I didn’t think to get the remover lol. It did such an amazing job, though! I’m surprised by how well it worked but also somehow not surprised at all because Bali Body is awesome. I laughed so much at your messy application. You’re right, though, if it can remove messy fake tan, then removing a proper layer of fake tan must be a breeze. Great review!
