This Clinique Moisturizer Gives You 100-Hours Of Steady Hydration
For as long as I can remember, I have been using this exact Clinique Moisturizer: The Moisture Surge 100-Hour Replenishing Hydrator. I believe it used to be 72-hour instead of 100-hour but other than that, I don’t think they’ve really changed much about the formula.
Thankfully, I have quite a few positive words to say about this moisturizer. And some points of improvement too… Continue reading to find out!
- Hydrating the skin
- Lightweight and quickly absorbing
- Basic moisturizer but does what it promises
- Non-sticky and not greasy
- Clinique is not cruelty-free
- Fairly expensive
- No big results
I believe I started using this around ten years ago, and I’m still using it to this day; even though I’m now circling between different moisturizers, I always have one open or as a backup.
I mean, I just spoiled the whole review in the first two paragraphs lol, but hey, you still don’t know why I like it so much, so make sure to find out in the review below.
What Is Clinique Moisturizer in Moisture Surge 100-Hour
The Clinique Moisturizer is a refreshing fan-favorite hydrator. It is a lightweight, oil-free gel cream that penetrates deep and lasts 100 hours. Many things can dehydrate your skin, including weather, pollution, blue light, time spent in the sun, mask-wearing, air travel, air conditioning, and heating. Fight back against lifeโs daily dehydration. This oil-free gel-cream moisturizer with Aloe Bioferment + HA Complex penetrates deep into the skinโs surfaceโfor 100 hours of stabilizing hydration.
The auto-replenishing technology helps the skin create its internal water source to rehydrate itself, then locks in moisture continually. The skin feels soothed with hydration in 3 seconds and keeps glowing. It also provides a smooth canvas for makeup application and is safe for sensitive skin.
This Clinique Moisture Surge is perfect for all skin types but works extra well for people with dry skin.
How To Use
You can use the Clinique Moisturizer in the morning as well as at night on clean skin or use it as a 5-minute mask.
Key Ingredients
- Aloe Bioferment
- Hyaluronic acid
- Activated aloe water
- Auto-Replenishing Technology
- Blend of vitamins C and E
Things To Note
The Clinique Moisture Surge is oil-free, dermatologist-tested, fragrance-free, allergy-tested, paraben-free, phthalate-free, and alcohol-free. See the bottom of this review for all ingredients. Sadly, Clinique is not considered a cruelty-free brand; they “only” test on animals when required by law, and they sell their products in China, where it is required.
Where To Buy
The Clinique Moisturizer in Moisture Surge 100-Hour Replenishing Hydrator 30ml retails for $29, the small 15 ml retails for $15, 50ml retails for $44, 75ml retails for $59, and 125ml retails for $182. The moisturizer is available at the Clinique website, Sephora, and Nordstrom.
Clinique Moisture Surge Review
What bothers me the most is that Clinique isn’t cruelty-free. I love their skincare products, and I’ve also heard some great things about their makeup products. However, I don’t want to purchase more from a brand that isn’t cruelty-free.
I buy this moisture over and over, so I’m in some way contributing to it, but I don’t want to expand my collection now that I know they don’t test on animals. I hope they’ll change their policy shortly!
Other than that, and the Clinique moisturizer being somewhat expensive, I don’t have any bad things to say about this moisturizer. The texture is lightweight and super hydrating without feeling thick. I love how it is a gel cream because it makes it perfect for applying in the morning before doing your makeup since it absorbs quickly and works like a primer too.
I wouldn’t really say that I noticed any major changes in my skin other than it feeling hydrated, though. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a product that’ll give you the hydration your skin needs. It doesn’t give you anti-aging, plumping, or any of these results. Just hydration.
Now that I’m older than when I first started using this moisturizer, I’m looking for moisturizers that have more benefits to them than just hydration; I have to admit. But I still like to use this as a daily moisturizer and use a fuller cream, with a couple more effective ingredients, at night.
Alternatives
Final Verdict
This is one of the best lightweights, quickly absorbing moisturizers while hydrating the skin. You shouldn’t expect massive changes in your skin; the only change you’ll notice is profoundly hydrated skin. If that’s what you’re looking for, this one is perfect.
If you’re looking for the whole spectrum of anti-aging, plumping, glowing, balancing, you name it, results, I would pass this one because you’re not going to find it with this. It’s an essential but very great hydrating moisturizer.
