You’re not a matte liquid lipstick lover because they’re drying out your lips but you love the look of a matte lipstick? Don’t look any further because Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip Liquid Lipsticks might be your ultimate lifesaver. Want to know more about these lipsticks before you purchase them? You’re at the right place. I tested them and going to share my thoughts with you today. Let’s dive into the review!

As of right now, the Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip Liquid Lipsticks range contains 6 shades, and every now and then, a (limited edition) collection contains one or two new shades. However, shades in a specific collection are probably going to be discontinued pretty quickly. Colourpop is known for their weekly launches but they also discontinue products at the same pace, it seems.

Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip

The Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip formula is supposed to make the lips look soft, diffused, and “just-blotted” as they call it themselves. The lipstick looks matte on the lips but is very comfy and long-wearing. The Ultra Blotted Lip Liquid Lipsticks retail for $7 each.

The current, permanent shades available at the Colourpop website are:

  • Zuma is a warm nude lipstick.
  • Scenic Route is a sheer peachy nude.
  • Sleepy Eyes is a warm rosy nude.
  • Cherry On Top is a blackened plum.
  • Cypress Chill is a sheer brick rose.
  • Doozy is a warm rose.

For my US readers, there are more shades available at Ulta. Such as:

  • Bit O Sunny is a bright cherry red.
  • Vitamin Sea is an orange terracotta.

All the shades are cruelty-free and vegan. Colourpop is a cruelty-free brand, but not all their products are vegan. However, it’s clearly stated on the website which products are and which aren’t so it’s easy to figure out.

The best way to apply these lipsticks is to apply a thin layer on the lips. If you want a more pigmented look, apply the Ultra Blotted Lip on top of a lip liner. If you want to add some shine, go ahead and apply lipgloss on top of it!

Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip Reviewed

I personally tested one limited edition shade, which is discontinued, and Zuma. Both the shades are very pretty but the formula is definitely great as well. It feels very soft on the lips, looks matte indeed but doesn’t feel like that at all. I know matte liquid lipsticks can feel drying on the lips so this is a great alternative!

If I have to compare them to another formula, I would compare them to the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Blush formula. Which I tested during the Under The Sea Collection for the first time. Moreover, the Colourpop Lux Liquid Lips feel very similar on the lips too. If I had to pick between the two Colourpop formulas, I would pick the Lux Liquid Lipstick formula because I feel like these are even softer than the Ultra Blotted Lip. However, both formulas are very comfortable!

Since Colourpop is such an affordable brand and their quality is amazing, I would definitely recommend trying their lip products. Even though I love Kylie Cosmetics, I would suggest trying the Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip or Lux Liquid Lips first if this is your first time trying this type of formula. It’s basically an affordable version of the Kylie Cosmetics Lip Blushes!

The Ultra Blotted Lip formula is a formula I love to use when I want a minimal makeup look. But it works in every situation for sure!

Have you ever tried the Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip? If so, what do you think? If not, do you want to try this formula? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I used to be a bit self conscious about lippie too a few years ago! Now I’ve got blue, orange, grey, etc… just takes a while. Saying that, I do need to invest in some nudes!
