What Is The Dior Lip Oil

A nurturing, glossy lip oil protects and enhances the lips, bringing out their natural color. The Dior Lip Glow Oils are a non-sticky, non-greasy, rich, and balmy texture that combines the mirror shine of a lip gloss with the comfort of intense lip care. It is enriched with cherry oil for a pampering formula. Featuring a minty-vanilla scent, it nurtures the lips with an immediate and lasting effect.

With its Color Reviver technology, Lip Glow Oil reacts directly to the moisture level in each woman’s lips for custom color while ensuring continual moisturization. The lips are more beautiful after five days of application, even when bare.

Dior Addict Lip Glow Oils Review

Dior Lip Oil is a luxurious, hydrating lip oil that comes in several beautiful shades. This oil instantly melts into the lips, providing a hint of color. The formula is perfect for everyday wear, and the elegant packaging makes it an excellent gift for any occasion.

As you can tell, the shades Rosewood and Pink don’t look similar in their packaging but do look similar when swatched. You can see a slight color difference in the swatches, which you can’t tell when wearing them on the lips. Based on that, I would recommend picking one of these, not both; it’s a waste of money.

Application

When I pulled out the applicator, a sticky string of lip oil stayed connected between the bottle and the applicator. Then it breaks, and you’ll have the lip oil everywhere. So make sure to scrape off the sides before you take the applicator out completely.

The applicator is very user-friendly and big, making the application easy and quick. Since you don’t have to work precisely, it’s not irritating that this applicator is big and round.

Formula

The formula is on the thicker side but not unpleasantly thick. It sinks into the lips instantly and feels quite moisturizing. It also has a cooling sensation too, but very subtle. I don’t think it’s the most hydrating lip oil I’ve ever tried. For example, I wouldn’t wear this before bed as it isn’t giving enough hydration to restore my lips during the night. However, it is a nice and moisturizing formula for daily wear and reapplication during the day.

I also feel like it’s a little sticky, but it’s not bothering me that much. I’m very sensitive to a sticky gloss; I really dislike them, so if I say it’s doable, then it truly is haha. I just had to mention it, so you know what to expect!

Pigmentation

The Dior Lip Oils are supposed to be sheer, so I didn’t expect much pigmentation in the first place; however, I was slightly disappointed to see how similar Rosewood and Pink were. I expected to see at least some difference on the lips. I think you would see the most color with the shade Cherry, which I sadly don’t have because it was sold out and still is.

On top of that, these Lip Oils aren’t really glossy on my lips. The swatches on my hand looked great, but when I applied them to my lips, they immediately sank into the lips and show just a little shine. I’m not sure if I just have very dry lips and if this is just me; either way, this was also kinda disappointing.

Longevity

Just like how I experienced a little shine, I also saw these Lip Oils disappear within 30 minutes to an hour. After that, I had to reapply to regain some of the shine. Again, I’m not sure if it’s just me and my dry lips, but they’re not long-lasting in my books at all. I know a gloss-like formula is less long-wearing, but I’ve never tried a formula that was gone this quickly, especially not this expensive.

I have to say that my lips feel very soft and smooth during and once the Lip Oils disappeared completely. They felt more hydrated afterward, so that’s a good thing.

Dior Lip Oil Rosewood

The Dior Lip Oil Rosewood is a warm rose shade, giving the lips a hint of pinkish red. Very subtle, though; I think it just accentuated the redness in my lips but not really giving them much of a tint.

The packaging is stunning, the applicator works well but looks very bright compared to the actual oil (so don’t let it scare you), and it is easy to apply.

Dior Lip Oil Pink

The Dior Lip Oil Pink is a true light pink, giving the lips more of a clear shiny finish. When I wore it on my lips, I couldn’t tell this lip oil had a pink tint. You can see it in my hand’s swatch, though; it has a subtle hint of pink.

The packaging is stunning, the applicator works well but looks very bright compared to the actual oil (so don’t let it scare you), and it is easy to apply.

Alternatives

  • Kylie Skin Lip Oil: A great, more affordable option to the Dior Lip Oils is the Kylie Skin Lip Oil. It hydrates my lips, I love wearing this during the day or before bed, and it does deliver a glossy finish. Really recommend these!
  • Sigma Beauty Lip Oil: Another great, more affordable option is these Sigma Beauty Lip Oils. I love how their finishes are a little more pigmented; they’re very comfortable and hydrating and deliver gorgeous glossy lips.
  • Tower 28 Lip Jelly Lipgloss: Even though the Tower 28 glosses aren’t Lip Oils or lip balms, they feel like that. They’re super comfortable, non-sticky, and hydrating. On top of that, they’re way cheaper than the Dior Lip Oils.

Final Verdict

I’m not so sure if these Dior Lip Oils just aren’t the ones for me or if anyone else recognizes the same results, but even though the Lip Oils are quite hydrating; they did not deliver the gloss finish I expected, were a bit sticky (not too bad), and stayed on for only 30 minutes to an hour. My lips felt soft and smooth afterward, but that doesn’t justify the price for me.

It does what it has to do, but nothing more. It’s a nice lip oil, but no more than that. The alternatives mentioned above are more affordable and, in my opinion, better than the Dior Lip Oils.

FAQ

As with many products recently, the Dior Lip Oils went viral on TikTok, and once this happens, products sell out super quickly. There isn’t much information on restocks, so I recommend subscribing to most beauty stores’ waiting lists.

They sell the Dior Lip Oils at the Dior website dior.com, Sephora, Selfridges, and Douglas.

On myself, the Dior lip Oil lasts just 30 minutes to an hour.
