Dose Of Colors Concealer Review

As you can tell, if have some pretty bad dark circles, and the Dose of Colors Concealer did a great job at hiding them for the most part. The inner side, which is the bluest, isn’t entirely covered by this concealer, but I would say that it’s definitely a medium coverage concealer as this is just one layer. I was able to add another layer and cover the dark circles completely. It works well in combination with any other concealer that I use for brightening, on top of it, or in combination with this Dose Concealer.

The shade I got, shade 11 Light Medium, might be a tad too dark/warm for me, but I do think I matched myself to a pretty close to natural skin tone shade – as much as I love that there are 30 shades, a lot of people will be able to use this concealer, it does make picking the right shade harder. But either way, I don’t think I did a lousy job eventually.

The texture of the Dose Of Colors Concealer is very lightweight, comfortable, and creamy. I have to say that I didn’t expect this, as I usually feel like full coverage concealer has a thicker consistency, like the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. It’s easy to apply due to the creamy formula, and it blends into the skin very quickly, leaving a medium coverage.

I noticed that the concealer didn’t crease, not even after a full day of wearing the concealer. I set it with a setting powder, though, just like how I always set my concealer/my under eyes. But some concealers tend to crease a couple of hours into wearing, even with setting powder, so that this concealer doesn’t crease is fantastic.

The Applicator of the Dose Of Colors Concealer is quite big, this isn’t the most significant problem, but it does mean that the application is less precise. It’s pretty similar to the Tarte Shape Tape applicator, for reference. As I dotted just a bit of concealer under my eyes and started to blend with a sponge, this wasn’t a problem, even though I do prefer smaller applicators, to be honest. It feels like I have more control with a smaller applicator, and I can get closer to the inner side of my eyes (which is always the darkest part).

The Dose Of Colors Concealers also works well with the Dose Of Colors Foundation, as I already expected. Both the products are from their “Meet Your Hue” range, so I was hoping and expecting them to be a great match. It makes me think about the Too Faced Born This Way Foundation and matching concealer. The foundation, as well as this concealer, are both medium to full coverage, which you have to keep in mind because not everyone likes this type of coverage. If you do, I’m very sure you’ll love this combination!

Alternatives

  • Tarte Shape Tape Concealer: Shape Tape is a truly full coverage concealer which I love a lot, the texture is quite similar to the Dose Of Colors Concealer, but I would say that Shape Tape has a thicker texture. Not particularly uncomfortable, though, but you have to keep that in mind. Either way, Shape Tape is a fantastic alternative for the Dose Concealer.
  • Urban Decay Stay Naked Concealer: The Urban Decay Stay Naked Concealer has a light & comfortable texture, is very creamy, and has light to medium coverage, which can be built to full coverage. I do prefer the UD applicator over the Dose Concealer applicator. Based on the formula and application, I think this makes a great alternative.

Final Verdict

If you haven’t tried the Dose Of Colors Concealer, you are missing out! This concealer is fantastic. It provides medium coverage without looking cakey or creasing during the day. It is also lightweight and comfortable to wear. The applicator is a little on the bigger side, but this doesn’t have to be a problem. I have tried many concealers, and this is one of my favorites. I highly recommend you try it for yourself.
