What Is Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation?

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation has long been a favorite among beauty enthusiasts thanks to its ultra-long wearability and amazing coverage.

Its oil-free formula provides full coverage and controlling shine levels with an oil-control base, which makes this foundation an amazing option for combination and oily skin types.

The lightweight texture makes it comfortable to wear all day without feeling caked on or heavy – perfect for those days when you want your makeup look to stay put from morning ‘til night!

Its buildable coverage lets you easily layer up on specific places on the face – however, one layer already provides full coverage – if more is desired, but also just enough so as not to appear heavy or cakey on your skin.

Plus, it is free of fragrance, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin or those who prefer not to use scented products.

Estee Lauder VS Etude Foundation Comparison

Estee Lauder Double Wear Dupe, Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Etude Double Lasting Foundation

Application

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation has a thicker and creamy texture, which requires a bit of effort to blend into the skin. It’s recommended to use a brush for a smooth and even application.

The Etude Double Lasting Foundation, on the other hand, has a lightweight and more watery texture, which spreads easily on the skin and blends effortlessly with a brush or sponge.

Either way, both formulas are quite easy to work with and blend into the skin for a flawless finish. None of the formulas lays on top of the skin or looks very cakey or powdery.

Formula

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation has a unique oil-controlling formula that helps to keep oil production in check, making it a great option for those with oily or combination skin types.

It also has a transfer-resistant formula that ensures it stays in place for up to 24 hours without smudging or rubbing off on clothes or other surfaces. It contains SPF 10, which isn’t much, but it has at least some sun protection.

The formula is also non-acnegenic, meaning it won’t clog pores or cause breakouts. On top of this, it’s fragrance-free, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin.

The Etude Double Lasting Foundation, on the other hand, contains fragrance (which you smell when opening the bottle), and silicones which make it less suitable for sensitive.

It provides medium to full coverage and leaves a natural matte finish on the skin. Just like Double Wear, it also has a transfer-resistant formula that ensures it stays in place for up to 24 hours without smudging or rubbing off.

Besides that, the foundation contains SPF 35, providing protection against the sun’s harmful UV rays. The formula is also smudge-proof, making it ideal for those who tend to touch their face or have oily skin.

Finish

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation provides a matte finish, which is perfect for those who want a velvety, flawless look.

This finish helps to control shine and gives the skin a smooth, even appearance. The matte finish also helps to make pores and imperfections less noticeable, making it a great option for those with acne-prone or oily skin.

However, it’s worth noting that the matte finish can make the skin look slightly flat, so if you prefer a more natural-looking finish, you may want to use a highlighter or a setting spray to add some luminosity.

The Etude Double Lasting Foundation provides a natural matte finish that helps to control shine without making the skin look too flat or dry.

This finish gives the skin a smooth, even appearance but looks slightly more natural than the Double Wear Foundation. However, you have to look closely to see this minimal difference.

The Etude Double Lasting Foundation is perfect for those who want a natural matte, look without looking too shiny or greasy. Additionally, the foundation is buildable, so you can layer it to achieve your desired level of coverage without compromising the natural-looking finish.

If you have oily or combination skin and want a completely matte finish, the Estee Lauder foundation may be the better option for you.

If you have normal or combination skin and want a natural-looking finish that still controls shine, the Etude foundation may be a better fit. Regardless of which foundation you choose, both provide a long-lasting finish that will stay put throughout the day.

Value For Price

When it comes to value, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is priced at $43.00, making it a high-end foundation. It comes in a range of 56 shades, providing a wide variety of options for different skin tones and undertones.

The Etude Double Lasting Foundation, on the other hand, is priced at $26.90, making it an affordable foundation option. It comes in only 12 shades, which does not provide as much variety as the Estee Lauder Foundation.

Estee Lauder And Etudé Foundation Specifications Compared.

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation and the Etude Double Lasting Foundation are two popular choices in the world of makeup. While both foundations offer long-lasting coverage, there are some notable differences between them.

The Estee Lauder Foundation provides full coverage, while the Etude Foundation offers medium to full coverage. However, Etude is buildable to full coverage, so the difference here isn’t big.

Secondly, the finish of the Estee Lauder foundation is a matte finish, while the Etude foundation provides a natural matte finish. On the face, I don’t notice any difference. Both look naturally matte while not giving a cakey finish.

So far, it’s equal here! Both Estee Lauder and Etude foundations deliver a similar coverage and finish.

The biggest difference, so far, is the shade range. Estee Lauder offers 56 shades compared to the 12 shades offered by Etude. Plus, Etude only offers light to medium skin tone options. Etude is not inclusive at all; with Estee Lauder, you definitely have way more options.

Finally, the price point of the two foundations differs significantly, with Estee Lauder priced at $43.00 and Etude priced at $26.90. For a foundation of the same size, this is a difference of $16.10 and is quite a lot. Etude wins this round!

Based on inclusivity Estee Lauder wins, whereas when we look at the price, Etude wins.

Sadly, both brands are not cruelty-free, which doesn’t make a difference. What does differ is the SPF; Estee Lauder’s foundation has SPF10, whereas Etude’s foundation has SPF35.

Now this doesn’t have to be a huge difference because I recommend always adding sunscreen before applying any makeup. Either way, it is helpful that the Etude Foundation provides another layer of protection.

Both brands aren’t cruelty-free. But Etude wins the SPF round, as their foundation contains SPF35.

If you have a light skin tone and are on a budget, Etude Double Lasting Foundation sounds like the best option. The SPF35 is another benefit on top of the already great features of the foundation formula.

If you have a medium, dark, or deep dark skin tone, you can’t use Etude’s foundation and are already forced to go with Estee Lauder. Not that this is a bad thing, the formula is obviously great, but the pricing is a little high, and the foundation only has SPF 10.

The Etude Foundation is definitely a great Estee Lauder Double Wear Dupe, but it has some limitations. If they could add (way) more shades to their shade range, Etude would be the biggest winner!

Other Foundation Alternatives

In case both of these foundations aren’t still the one for you, I have a few different foundations that make a great alternative to both Estee Lauder as well as the Etude foundations.

Conclusion On The Estee Lauder Double Wear Dupe

If you’re looking for an Estee Lauder Double Wear dupe that is more affordable, contains a higher level of SPF, and has the same finish, you should really consider the Etude Double Lasting Foundation.

However, you should be aware of the fact that the Etude Foundation shade range is only for light to medium skin tones.
