Here’s a little reminder that
Since I’m doing this new Series, I thought it would be a good idea to take you with me on my personal favorite self-care date. I’m going to talk about the things I do when I feel overwhelmed, stressed or when I just need a moment for myself. If I do these things I get more relaxed and I feel like the stress is slowly going away. It might not work for you as it does for me, but you can at least give it a try right? Let’s start with my perfect Self Care moment!
My Favorite Self Care Routine
Write things down
The first thing I like to do is to write down everything that’s on my mind. I’m not able to relax if I keep thinking about all the things I still need to do. When it’s on paper, I can let go of it. Sometimes making a schedule helps too, so I can overview all my tasks and easily see I can plan some me-time. I write whatever I want to write, not only to do’s but everything that’s on my mind! A planner is a nice way to gather all your thoughts in one place. One of my favorite brands that sell amazing planners is CGD London.

One of the things I like to do when I feel cluttered is to tidy up. A messy room can make me feel cluttered, overwhelmed, and stressed too. So if I feel the need to organize, clean, or throw things away, I will make some time for that. After this, I’ll always feel better! A clear space is a clear mind.
Take a bath or shower
Taking a hot bath or shower always makes me feel better. My muscles are tight with tension when I’m stressed but when I’m taking a hot bath or shower, I feel the tension go away. If I don’t have enough time to take a bath, I sometimes go sit down in the shower to take a couple of minutes and try to relax. This is a perfect moment for me to practice some mindfulness since I have a hard time living in the moment.
Home Spa Day
This is one of my favorite things to do! I love doing a home spa day. Normally I’m putting on a face mask, a hair mask, I use some exfoliating scrub, paint my nails, put on some nice body cream, etc. I just take all the time in the world to treat myself! I think this is actually my favorite part of my self-care routine, it makes me 10 times more relaxed and I feel fresh and clean too.
I have to admit that when I’m stressed out I normally don’t take the time to read, but I definitely should. Reading always makes me relax and makes me forget about my own life for a while. I love being in another world and getting to know the characters of a book. It makes me calm and that’s exactly what I need when I’m stressed, overwhelmed, or tired.
These are my favorite routines but there are way more things that could help you! Think about exercise, meditate, create, etc. If you haven’t found your perfect way to relax, make sure you’re going to try things out until you find what fits you the best! Self-care is really important so please make sure to make time for that.
