Fresh Soy Face Cleanser: Is It Really A #1 Best Cleanser?
The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser has been a very hyped product over the years, it even is the #1 best-selling product of Fresh. I was curious if this cleanser lives up to the hype and if it’s truly one of the best cleansers on the market. Are you wondering the same thing?
If so, you’re totally in the right place because I tested this cleanser, so you don’t have to, and in this post, I’m sharing…
- Very gentle and non-stripping formula
- My skin always feels clean after using this
- It removes all traces of makeup, even stubborn eye makeup
- Fresh acts like they’re cruelty-free but sell their products in China, where animal testing is required by law
I love to test out products called ‘best sellers’ or ‘number one x on the market’ because I want to see if these claims are valid. A product called a best seller is the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this cleanser, and it seems like everyone, and their mom has tried it.
So, of course, I had to put it to the test too. What makes this cleanser so special? Is it worth the best-seller term? We’re going to find out in today’s post!
What Is The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is a universal face wash that maintains the skin’s pH while cleansing, softening, and hydrating all skin types and tones. The hydrating face wash with soy proteins deeply cleanses pores and removes makeup while maintaining the skinโs pH and increasing hydrationโeven after you rinse. The non-stripping formula is proven effective in all ages, genders, skin types, and tones.
- Effectively cleanses all skin types & tones
- Maintains skin’s pH & increases hydration by 10%
- Deeply yet gently cleanses pores & removes makeup
The key ingredients in this cleanser are Aloe Vera gel, Cucumber extract, Borage seed oil, and Soy proteins.
Best Suited For
The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is suitable for all skin types. The cleanser is dermatologist-tested and was proven effective on nearly 200 adults of all ages, genders, skin tones, and typesโincluding sensitive skin!
How To Use
Wet the skin first, put a small squeeze of product onto your hands, add some water and rub your hands together. Start massaging all over your face and eyes in circular motions, and then rinse it off.
Things To Note
Fresh claims not to test their finished products on animals themselves; they do, however, allow third parties to test these products on their behalf where required by law. Fresh also sells cosmetics in mainland China, and the Chinese authorities test these products on animals. For these reasons, Fresh is not considered a cruelty-free brand.
Their skincare is formulated without parabens, MIT/MCI, formaldehyde and formaldehyde donors, BHA, phthalates, silicones D4 & D6, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban. In fact, they ban hundreds of ingredients and regularly update this list.
Where To Buy
The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser 150 ml retails for $38 (there are more sizes) and is available at the Fresh website fresh.com, Sephora, Nordstrom, Harrods, Ulta, and Cult Beauty.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser Review
I’ve been on a skincare journey when it comes to cleansers specifically. I’ve been trying out cleansing balms, such as this awesome JUNOCO Cleansing Balm, Face Cleansing Oils, check out my Leafinity review here, and obviously also cleansers. I’ve noticed that on normal makeup days, I like a more lightweight cleanser. Cleansing balms are more for glam makeup days, and cleansing oils are nice but not for me. This Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is definitely a lightweight, very gentle cleanser that removes makeup without stripping the skin.
I typically use this cleanser as a second cleanse in my double-cleanse routine, as I often use my Makeup Eraser Cloth as a first cleanse to remove makeup. I like it this way because after using my Fresh cleanser, my skin feels soft, clean, and calm. Even my sensitive eye area is never irritated.
The thing I have with this cleanser is that at first sight, it looks and feels very basic, like nothing special, just a good and simple cleanser. It’s when I don’t use it that I notice how much my skin likes this cleanser. Does this make any sense? I mean, I obviously notice how soft my skin feels, how clean it looks and that it feels nice after using the cleanser. But when I use another cleanser, I often notice the difference. For example, dry or not completely clean skin are things I see when I’m using/trying other cleansers.
On top of that, this bottle lasts you literally forever. A 150 ml bottle retails for $38, which might sound expensive; however, based on how long you can do with one bottle and the high quality of the product, it’s worth the price tag.
The only thing I truly hate about Fresh is that they claim to be cruelty-free and state that they’re not testing their products on animals; they still sell their products in China, where animal testing is required by law. They may not test the products on animals themselves, but they still approve of other authorities doing these tests for them. It’s disappointing to me that their own disclaimer is so misleading.
Alternatives
Final Verdict
I totally get the love for this Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. It’s very gentle, effective, and soothing. My skin always feels soft and clean after using it. It’s a cleanser you just need around you, even when testing out other cleansers as I do, so you can always fall back on this bestseller if necessary! Or, if you don’t test other cleansers, you just need a backup.
