Upon its launch in 2017, Glossier Cloud Paint was an instant hit, becoming a core product for the iconic “no makeup makeup” beauty brand known for makeup that looks natural and feels like skin. Thankfully for us, the glowy natural makeup look is trending right now, and so we can use the Cloud Paints as much as our hearts desire.

In today’s post, I’m going to share the two Glossier Cloud Paints that give the most stunning, effortless flush to the cheeks, so keep on reading if you want that “no makeup makeup” flawless look!

9.2Expert Score
Glossier Cloud Paint
The Cloud Paints blend seamlessly into the skin, look natural, and have a stunning glowy finish. The formula is very lightweight, buildable, and comfortable while never accentuating texture/pores and doesn’t feel sticky or look streaky. The only con I noticed is that they’re not that long-wearing if you don’t set them correctly. A setting powder, setting spray, or another blush on top will fix this.

I don’t know about you, but I often think that liquid blushes are a big struggle as I don’t want to end up looking like a clown. However, these Glossier Cloud Paints won’t give you anything you may fear. Nope, you only have to think about flawless, glowy, and still natural-looking cheeks with these Cloud Paints. And maybe most important: it’s foolproof!

What Is The Glossier Cloud Paint

The Glossier Cloud Paint is a seamless, buildable gel-cream blush that’s easy to apply and easy to wear. It is just sheer enough upon initial application to make it work without going overboard, but if you need a more color payoff the formula is also buildable. Simply dab the blush on the cheeks and tap into the skin for a natural, flushed-from-within glow. The Special Blurring Pigments give a soft-focus effect that doesn’t accentuate texture or pores—as if you just happen to be in golden hour lighting all the time. The lightweight gel-cream formula has a pillowy, bouncy feel that blends seamlessly and leaves cheeks dewy, not streaky or chalky.

Benefits

  • Collagen: Retains a high amount of water (it’s a really effective hydrator!) and leaves cheeks feeling fresh and dewy.
  • Smooth-Gel System: One-of-a-kind, lightweight gel-cream texture makes for a silky, even application.
  • Blurring Powder Pigments: Provide a soft, diffused, seamless finish—no more streakiness.

How To Use

  1. For best results, apply with fingertips—gently squeeze a tiny dot onto the finger. Start at the apples of your cheeks and then blend up and out.
  2. If you’re mixing more than one Cloud Paint for a custom shade, it’s recommended to combine them together on the back of your hand first.
  3. Simply dab the blush on the cheeks and tap into the skin.

Things To Note

The Glossier Cloud Paints are easy to use and work with, are very enhancing, buildable, and last but not least, cruelty-free. The Cloud Paints are formulated without fragrance and are dermatologist tested.

Where To Buy

The Glossier Cloud Paints are available only at glossier.com. As of early 2023, Glossier is finally going to be available at Sephora too.

Glossier Cloud Paint Review

At first, I was scared that these Glossier Cloud Paints were going to be way too pigmented. If I should’ve read the description better beforehand I should’ve known better but oh well, the facts are that I just expected a lot of color payoff. Thankfully, when you start blending them they seamlessly blend into the skin and leave an opaque but pigmented enough flush of color. If I want a bit more, I add just a tiny dot extra – as the formula is very buildable, this causes no problem at all.

Both Beam and Puff are stunning colors that I like to use alone but I also really like to mix them for a customized blush. Basically, you get three blushes for the price of two. But if you just pick up one, you won’t be disappointed either as this formula is really lightweight and comfortable. It’ll never leave a sticky or streaky finish but instead feels very natural, and looks luminous, flawless, and glowy. As the brand stated, and what I can confirm, these Cloud Paints don’t accentuate pores or texture which is a big benefit. They will look like your skin’s natural flush of color but better.

Even though I really like liquid blush, it can often be quite a struggle getting the right amount of product out. You just have to slightly squeeze the tube and you’ll get enough product out of the tube, dot some onto your cheeks, and start blending. It’s that easy, I’ve never struggled with applying the Cloud Paints.

Wearing these blushes without setting, they won’t last that long and start fading after about 3-4 hours. If I do set them, with either a translucent setting powder or another powder blush, they’ll stay on all day. A setting spray can also help and this will keep the pretty luminous finish of the liquid blushes more than a setting powder would. Or grab a setting powder that has a luminous finish, works well too!

Alternatives

  • NARS Liquid Blush: Compared to the Cloud Paints, the NARS Liquid Blush is way more pigmented so be careful! You don’t need much at all. What I like about the NARS ones, is that they have a similar glowy finish, are also very lightweight, and just look stunning. It’s a great alternative for the Glossier Cloud Paints, but are way more expensive and again; way more pigmented.
  • Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush: Another amazing liquid blush formula, but also a very pigmented one compared to the Glossier ones or liquid blushes in general. Even though I don’t think the Rare Liquid Blushes are foolproof or really beginner-friendly, I love the formula and I also really like that they have 2 finishes; luminous and matte. This way everyone can try them!
  • Dior Rosy Glow Powder Blush: Even though the Dior Glow Powder Blush isn’t a liquid blush, the shade Beam from Glossier and 004 Coral from Dior are basically dupes. If you’re more of a powder girl and are looking for a Beam dupe, try Dior! The Dior powder blushes are phenomenal so definitely worth it if you’re in the market to spend some extra money.

Final Verdict

I personally really like the Glossier Cloud Paints and wear them a lot, especially during summertime when I opt for a glowy complexion more than wintertime. However, you can easily wear these during the winter too. The Cloud Paints blend seamlessly into the skin, look very natural, and have a stunning glowy finish. The formula is very lightweight, buildable, and comfortable, while never accentuating texture/pores and doesn’t feel sticky or look streaky. The only con I noticed is that they’re not that long-wearing if you don’t set them properly. A setting powder, setting spray, or another blush on top will fix this.
