9.5Expert Score
Glossier Vitamin C Serum
I didn’t expect to see results this quickly, but this Glossier Vitamin C + Magnesium serum showed me it’s possible! Not only is the formula very lightweight, nourishing, and non-sticky – my skin looked more even, natural glowy, brighter and healthier. Only the serum’s smell is a bit of a bummer, but if you’re like me and can live with it, I still recommend this serum.

  • It leaves the skin looking glowy and healthy
  • Results are visible within ~3 weeks of usage
  • Very lightweight, non-sticky and non-greasy
Cons
  • It has an odd smell, almost like playdough

I love a good Vitamin C Serum, emphasizing “good.” there are so many Vitamin C Serums on the market that it’s hard to find a good one. And on top of that, obviously, we don’t want to spill our money on the ones that aren’t working for our skin. But don’t worry, because I got you! I love testing products, so I tried the Glossier Vitamin C Super Glow Serum and gathered my thoughts for this review.

What Is Glossier Super Glow Serum

Glossier Super Glow Vitamin C + Magnesium Serum and Glossier Lipgloss in Clear

The Glossier Vitamin C Serum, also known as the Glossier Super Glow Serum, is a nourishing Vitamin C serum for visibly smoother, more even-toned skin over time. A potent, stable formulation of 5% Vitamin C derivative MAP + Magnesium PCA delivers key ingredients without irritating sensitive skin.

Key Ingredients

  • Vitamin C derivative (Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate aka MAP) helps even tone and improve the appearance of dark spots (and because itโ€™s stable, it wonโ€™t oxidize or degrade after you open the bottle), while Magnesium PCA enhances hydration and replenishes moisture, so skin looks recharged, fresh, and glowy;
  • Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, Sunflower Seed Oil, and Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract condition and nourish the skin;

Best Suited For

The Glossier Vitamin C Serum is appropriate for all skin types. Even for sensitive skin, as this is formulated without fragrance.

How To Use

After cleansing and any toner-type of steps, use the Super Glow dropper to apply 3โ€“4 drops of serum to the hands and gently press onto the skin.

Things To Note

The Glossier Super Glow Serum is cruelty-free, dermatologist-tested, created for all skin types, and formulated without fragrance.

Where To Buy

The Glossier Vitamin C Serum retails for $29 and is available at glossier.com. Recently has been announced that Glossier will be available at Sephora in early 2023.

Glossier Vitamin C + Magnesium Serum Review

Glossier Vitamin C + Magnesium Super Glow Serum

Whenever I use the Glossier Vitamin C Serum, my skin looks naturally glowy and healthy. I love this in the mornings to brighten my skin for the day. I use it before my moisturizer, and I feel like it absorbs well. My skin feels hydrated without feeling too product covered or sticky. It truly is the perfect prep for makeup if you like a dewy base.

The Glossier Vitamin C serum works well on its own and in combination with other skincare products. I really like the formula as it’s not greasy and doesnโ€™t pill as some products do. It’s lightweight, easy to apply with the dropper, and gives you an instant glow while feeling nourishing. On top of that, I saw results pretty quickly after starting to use the serum – I would say after 2-3 weeks of using the serum every day, I saw that my skin was more even and brighter. It also looked less dull, as I already had luminous-looking skin even before using the Glossier serum. Something I had never seen before!

The only thing that bothers me about the Glossier Vitamin C + Magnesium serum is the smell. It smells odd, something like play dough. It’s not that bad that I don’t want to use this serum anymore or a reason why I wouldn’t repurchase it, but it’s not super pleasant either. If you’re really sensitive to scents, this might not be your perfect serum match. But if you’re like me and can live with it, I still really recommend this serum.

Alternatives

  • Kylie Skin Vitamin C Serum: I really enjoyed the Kylie Skin Serum, so it makes a great alternative for the Glossier one; however, I did have results quicker with the Super Glow Serum compared to the Kylie Vitamin C Serum.
  • Refresh Skin Therapy Vitamin C Day Serum: This serum is a great alternative to the Glossier serum, as this also didn’t irritate my skin and the overall look of my skin was happy. I’m not quite sure if I saw the same results as I did with the Glossier serum, though.

Final Verdict

I didn’t expect to see results this quickly, but this Glossier Vitamin C + Magnesium serum showed me it’s possible! Not only is the formula very lightweight, nourishing, and non-sticky – my skin looked more even, natural glowy, brighter and healthier. Only the smell of the serum is a little bit of a bummer, but if you’re like me and can live with it, I still really recommend this serum.

FAQ

Glossier has three different serums currently, which work well together. The right order to apply these Glossier serums is to start with Super Pure, then Super Bounce, and finish with Super Glow.

This Glossier Super Glow Serum lasted me a couple of months; I don’t know how long exactly, but I think it was around 7-8 months.

Sadly, yes. Just like all products, the Glossier products will also expire. The Super Glow serum’s shelf life after opening is 12 months.

  1. LOL! I was waiting to find out how you thought the Glossier Gloss compared to the Kylie High Glosses. I’ll be even more curious to see how you feel Fenty compares (as that is my total fave formula).

    I’ve actually tried more of the makeup and less of the skincare from Glossier, but everyone seems to love that Vitamin C serum.

  2. I really want to try some Glossier products, particularly the skincare stuff, so I’m thrilled to hear the vitamin C serum was good for you! I so badly want to try the Futuredew hybrid serum-oil thing haha. The products look so cute as well and look incredible in pics!xx
