Does someone say blush and glowing in the same sentence? Oh yes, please! I need that. I have to admit that I wasn’t a fan when I saw the first campaign shots of the new Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Sticks. It seemed like they lacked pigment, and I had my doubts if these would even show up on the cheeks.

I decided to skip the launch and wait for more reviews first. Even though I haven’t seen them all over the internet and going viral, I still felt the urge to try them based on several swatches, reviews, and people wearing them.

Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Stick
I was expecting these Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blushes to be a big flop. I expected a lack of pigment and just not a great product at all. I was so wrong! I like that you can build up the pigment, this way, you have complete control over the intensity.

Pros
  • Infused with vitamin E and lychee extract
  • No foundation separation/foundation moving
  • Very creamy, blendable, and buildable formula
  • It gives a healthy flush of color and glow
  • Even though it’s a lightweight, creamy formula, it’s still long-wearing
Cons
  • The blushes have a bit of a shimmer which I don’t mind, but not everyone will like this.

When I ordered The Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Sticks, I was still like, “Welp, I don’t know if this is a good idea,” but there’s only one way to find out, and that’s by trying them (and maybe wasting my money but oh well, it’s for the sake of a review right?!).

I picked up 2 out of the 5 shades: Perky Peach and Coral Cutie. I actually had my eyes on Proud Pink instead of Coral Cutie, but it was sold out, so I decided to go with Coral Cutie as this was my third fave shade.

Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Sticks Swatches & Review

Let me start off by saying sorry. Sorry, I questioned you, Huda! These Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Sticks seem to be pretty pigmented, actually. Perky Peach is obviously less visible on the face as it is a fairly nude shade, but with a bit of building up the pigment, it’s definitely visible on my light skin tone. I like that you can build up the pigment, this way, you have full control over the intensity. It’s easier to add color payoff than to remove it, so definitely a big benefit that it’s buildable.

The blushes are very creamy, you can apply them directly to the cheeks and they will glide on so smoothly. If you’re wearing foundation, I would recommend applying the Blush Stick on a brush or on the back of your hand first. This way, you’re making sure the product won’t move your foundation. I did try applying it directly to the cheeks and didn’t notice foundation separation or the foundation moving, though. However, I use a brush every time I apply them now as I like how this looks the best.

Another thing I truly like about these is that it’s perfect for spring and summer since it’s giving such a healthy flush of color and glow to the cheeks. Mind you, they do blend into the skin once applied, so they don’t look SUPER dewy as shown in the pictures above, but they still have this natural-looking glow to them though.

Even though the formula is very lightweight and creamy, the The Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Sticks are longwearing and lasted on me for a long time, at least 6-7 hours. If I set them with a powder blush or translucent powder, they last literally all day.

The shades themselves are stunning, too, by the way! I kinda thought I wouldn’t like Perky Peach, but I was wrong; I actually think that it looks very natural and cute. However, Coral Cutie is my fave! I’m just obsessed with how this looks on. It’s… perfect? Just so good! Even though there are only five shades, I still think there’s a shade for everyone. It’s also possible to mix and match shades together to get a more custom blush that fits your preferences. I really like the idea of being able to mix different shades!

Alternatives

  • Colourpop Blush Stix: A more affordable option for the Huda Beauty Blush Sticks are the Colourpop Blush Stix – they’re also lightweight, glide onto the skin, have a semi matte – soft glowy finish and are more pigmented than the Huda Blush Sticks. Definitelly worth checking out!
  • Nudestix Nudies Blush: The Nudestix Nudies Blushes were my first cream blush sticks I owned and I still really like them to this day, after trying lots of other brands/cream blushes. The finish is matte, is quite pigmented and stays on all day.
  • Merit Flush Balm: I personally think that the Merit Flush Balms are the closest dupe to the Huda Beauty Blush Sticks, formula-wise and shade-wise. They also offer 5 shades, give you that natural glowy flush of color, are lightweight, buildable, easy to blend and so much more. However, they’re a little bit more expensive than the Huda Beauty Blush Sticks.

Final Verdict

I was honestly expecting that these Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Sticks would be a big flop. I expected a lack of pigment and just not a great product at all. I was so wrong! This was such a nice surprise, and I’m so happy I decided to pick them up even though I had my doubts. I think the campaign pictures of these blushes just weren’t that flattering. I would say, please ignore the campaign pictures and look at those swatches above! If you still have some doubts or want to see all shades swatched to help you pick your favorite shade, I would recommend checking out Makeup Just For Fun’s video here.
