I have a thing for Huda Beauty lipsticks since the moment they’ve released their bullet lipsticks. Even though I was also interested in liquid lipsticks, these bullet lipsticks sparked my interest the most. Actually, I was planning on swatching some shades when I was finally able to go to Sephora in Paris or Barcelona. But the Huda Beauty Black Friday sale was so good, I ended up buying 2 bullet lipsticks in the shades Prom Night and Honeymoon.

I think one of my first Huda Beauty lipsticks is Wifey. I bought this liquid lipstick when I was in NYC and so thinking about that, it brings back memories! After my NYC trip, I actually reviewed the Huda Beauty lipstick Wifey on my blog.

Later on, when I finally found out how to get US products shipped to Europe, I ordered a Huda Beauty Lip Set which has a demi-matte, lip pencil and liquid matte in it.

I think this is where my obsession with Huda Beauty lipsticks started to grow and I had to splurge during their amazing Black Friday sale. I ended up buying 3 palettes, (New Nude, Desert Dusk, and Rosegold Remastered) as well as 6 lipsticks (2 bullets, 1 matte, 2 demi, and 1 strobe). Later on, I bought Mercury Retrograde as well with a discount code lol.

Anyway, my Huda Beauty collection is starting to grow and I actually start to enjoy this brand more and more! I think Huda Beauty is definitely one of my favorite brands at the moment.

I decided to break down my reviews in different parts, so I could go in full dept. Don’t you worry, I’ll be reviewing all the palettes and lippies but today we’re starting with the 2 Huda Beauty bullet lipsticks in the shades Prom Night and Honeymoon.

Huda Beauty Lipsticks Prom Night and Honeymoon

“Huda Beauty’s highly pigmented Power Bullet Matte Lipstick delivers unparalleled color payoff and unexpected comfort.”

– Huda Beauty

Honeymoon The shades I decided to buy are Prom Night and Honeymoon, even though I still have a couple more shades on my wishlist. I decided to go for another nude shade since I wear them all the time and a brighter pink so they wouldn’t look identical.

  • Prom Night: A pretty biscuit pink (warm toned) – $25
  • Honeymoon: A cheeky velvet pink (cool toned) – $25

The original price is $25 but I’m pretty sure I got them for 30 or 40% off. That’s a good deal in my opinion!

What else to know about the Huda Beauty Bullet Lipsticks?

We’ve been developing the Matte Power Bullet for over two years. In the process, we narrowed the shades down from over 100 to a select few warm and cool tones that we believe flatter every skin tone. We wanted to take the guesswork out of finding your perfect rose lipstick, so we made it as easy as possible for the customer.  Since it is our first traditional matte lipstick, we knew we had to create something that is beyond what is expected! We individually crafted the formula of each shade to ensure they all deliver the same incredible payoff, finish, and texture.  The Power Bullet completely shatters the typical limitations of matte lipsticks!”

Huda Beauty Lipsticks Swatches

Power Bullet Matte Lipsticks

I mean, when reading the description on the Huda Beauty website it sounds like these are revolutionary lipsticks and before I tried them, I already had high expectations. So now not only have I been dying to try them, but I also expect a lot. Are these lipsticks worth the money? Are they as amazing as described?

I think one swatch was enough for me to actually understand the description of the lipsticks. The formula is unique in my opinion, it’s super soft but is still matte. It doesn’t feel like a matte lipstick at all but it also doesn’t feel too creamy. It just really has a very comfortable formula.

My worry while swatching the lipsticks for the first time was that because it’s soft and a bit of a creamy/velvety formula, it might wouldn’t be long-wearing or easily transferring. So when I tested them multiple times on the lips, I paid close attention to that and I found out that there isn’t any problem. The lipstick transfers a SLIGHTLY bit after applying but I kissed my hand (what we beauty bloggers have to do for a perfect review… lol) several times and it was barely visible.

It’s definitely long-wearing too and the best part of it is that it doesn’t dry my lips at all. It’s amazing to wear matte lipstick without the feeling of super dry lips. I can easily wear this lipstick all day without any problems!

Moreover, the Huda Beauty lipsticks apply super easily, the tip is actually a perfect lip liner and the pigmentation is great. I always apply 2 layers when I’m wearing lipstick, I think this way it’s the most pigmented and covered, but it wouldn’t even be necessary with this lipstick.

My expectations were high but I’m actually still so surprised about how much I like these lipsticks. After trying multiple brands and multiple lipsticks, I find it hard to find something really special or different formula than others but this formula is definitely a special one.

I do agree that these lipsticks are a bit on the pricier side but after trying them (and wearing them almost every day since I’ve got them) I think they’re definitely worth its price.

I’m definitely buying more shades in the future! Are you? 🙂

  1. You picked two gorgeous shades! i’m a sucker for pinky / peachy / nude lipsticks the most and these are my kind of lippies! You swatch photos are gorgeous (as usual) and your review makes me want to try them out so much! I’ve never bought from this brand before but I may have to go and look for myself!

  2. The packaging on these lipsticks is so luxurious! I am addicted to nude/mauvy lip colors. Will have to check these out.

  3. Both of those shades are so gorgeous and definitely looks like something I would wear all the time! I loved reading your review, thanks for sharing! Your swatches and photos are so beautiful too!

  4. I love Huda Beauty so much! I have two of the liquid lipstick formulas – the liquid matte and the demi-matte – but I’ve not tried these bullet lipsticks. I’ve heard such good things about them and your review has completely reinforced that too. Those swatches are gorgeous and both colours are so beautiful. The formula sounds super interesting, I’m going to have to get one!

  5. I’ve always wanted to try Huda’s lipsticks but I heard some of her products are heavily scented! What do you think of the scent of the lipsticks?

    1. The bullet lipsticks are scented but not too heavy at all! But I do think their liquid lipsticks are heavily scented. It doesn’t really bother me, but I can totally imagine that some people find this smell way too heavy. If you don’t like heavily scented products I’d suggest the bullet lipsticks!

  6. Honestly, I’m totally with you about Huda slowly becoming one of my favorite brands. I’ve yet to try a product from her that I didn’t like and agree that these lipsticks are so gorgeous!
