9.8Expert Score
Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Palette
What I love about this palette is the color scheme and the pigment of almost all shades; I love how buttery the metallics and the mattes are. They’re super easy to blend and just an overall gorgeous palette. The shade Love Stone wouldn’t have been necessary to me, it’s not a great addition. But either way, I’m happy I added this Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Eyeshadow Palette to my collection.

Pros
  • Highly pigmented and blendable shadows
  • A lot of variety with these 18 shadows
  • Smooth, buttery, and buildable formula
  • No patchy shadows and no fallout on the face
Cons
  • Quite expensive
  • I’m not the biggest fan of the shade Love Stone

Even though I love the outer packaging and the shades inside the palette, I don’t think I would’ve thought about a Rose Quartz immediately. The packaging looks like pink marble, but I love pink and marble, so I’m not mad. I love the Rose Quartz, aka self-love and acceptance theme, for this collection, though I think that’s a solid message to all women out there.

Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Palette Review

The Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Palette is absolutely stunning. Now I fell in love quickly and hard when I saw this palette. I almost feel like it’s a gorgeous mix of the Mercury Retrograde Palette and the New Nude Palette. The thing I really like about this palette is that it’s very versatile. You can create daytime looks, completely matte or with just a touch of sparkle. But going all out with bright colors and gorgeous high-shine metallics is also an option. Overall the tones in this palette really spoke to me, it’s a unique color story in my collection.

I noticed a bit of kickback in the pan but no fallout on the face, so then I’m good (fallout on the face is more of a no-go for me than kickback in the pan); the metallics look absolutely stunning (except for the two shades “Love Stone” and “Self Love,” one of them is the pearly gloss hybrid, and the other one is probably the soft-shine metallic, but it looks more like a topper to me, not enough pigment). The mattes are pigmented and easy to work with, as usual.

The shadow formula, in general, applies like a dream and is easy to work with; they’re buildable in pigment and blend very well together. The formula feels super soft, almost buttery, and isn’t patchy on the arm or on the eyes at all. On top of that, I didn’t notice any creasing or fading during/at the end of the day; the shadows stayed on perfectly all day. Just a great formula!

As the Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Face Gloss isn’t for sale anymore (it was a limited edition), I decided to focus this review on the Rose Quartz Palette, but if you want to read more about the Face Gloss, you still can if you click on “Show More.”

Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Face Gloss Highlighting Dew

I have to admit that I wasn’t really interested in buying this Face Gloss at first. I don’t like a gloss-like product on my face other than my lips. Also, I still kinda think the pearls look a little like mold, lol. I felt the same when Huda introduced this formula in the Naughty Nude Eyeshadow Palette. After seeing some swatches of the Face Gloss Highlighting Dew, I felt the need to try it because it looked pretty, and I got it with 25% off. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gotten it because $40 for a highlighting gloss is expensive, in my opinion.

When you first open it, it’s a clear formula with lots of little pearls. Once you rub it, the actual color starts to show up, and it’s not clear anymore. The formula is indeed gloss-like, maybe even a bit like a gel formula. I was scared that this would be very sticky, but it’s better explained as tacky. I feel like it dries down a bit once it’s on the face, so it wasn’t like my hair sticking to my cheeks or something, thankfully lol.

To ensure your products beneath the highlighter stay on, don’t wipe this product on the face but tap it. You can use your fingers for the most visible results. I also tried a brush and a sponge which both, surprisingly, worked well too. I had to build up the pigment with a brush to get it to show up the way I intended, but that’s not a bad thing, in my opinion.

Overall, this Face Gloss positively surprised me! I was scared I wouldn’t like it, but it’s definitely not as bad or sticky as I thought it would be, and the finish is actually very pretty. I also like that this Face Gloss is buildable, not accentuating my texture, and leaves a wet-like but natural glow to the cheeks.

Alternatives

  • Persona Cosmetics Identity Palette: This might not be the closest dupe in shades ever, but it has some similarities, and the formula is pretty much just as good as the Huda Beauty Rose Quartz one, so I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re looking for a neutral-toned, high-performing palette.
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette: Based on the color story, I think the ABH Norvina is the closest match for the Huda Beauty Rose Quartz one. Formula-wise I prefer the Huda one over the ABH one, but the Norvina palette is still a well-performing and high-quality palette that makes a great alternative and is more affordable too!

Final Verdict

What I love about The Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Palette is the color scheme and the pigment of almost all shades; I love how buttery the metallics and the mattes are. They’re super easy to blend and just an overall gorgeous palette. The shade Love Stone wouldn’t have been necessary to me, it’s not a great addition. But either way, I’m happy I added this Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Palette to my collection, and I can’t wait to create lots of different looks with this!
