I have a bareMinerals lipstick haul to share with you today! I’ve been wanting to try the brand since the moment Hailey Bieber became brand ambassador but a Sephora sale a while ago pushed me over the edge to splurge on these lipsticks. After extensive testing, I have a review and swatches of the bareMinerals lipsticks in four formulas: Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss, Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick, Gen Nude Patent Liquid Lipstick, and Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick. I ordered all of these unseen and I’m very happy with all the colors I picked.
The bareMinerals Gen Nude Buttercream Lipgloss retails for $19 each and the Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick, Gen Nude Patent Liquid Lipstick, and Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick retail for $20 each.
I was very excited when they arrived and my first impressions where great. As you can tell, I love a pinkish nude a lot so I tried to stay in that lane but still add some variety in the pinks so some are a little darker and some are closer to a nude.
I bought 10 shades total in Notorious (Radiant Lipstick), XOX (Radiant Lipstick), Girl Boss (Patent Liquid Lipstick), Beautimus (Patent Liquid Lipstick), Boy Toy (Patent Liquid Lipstick), Major (Patent Liquid Lipstick), Slay (Matte Liquid Lipstick), Swag (Matte Liquid Lipstick), Heartbreaker (Buttercream Lipgloss), Totally (Buttercream Lipgloss).
bareMinerals Lipstick Swatches & Review
The bareMinerals Buttercream Lipgloss
I personally really enjoy these bareMinerals Buttercream glosses. I can be a very picky person when it comes to a gloss formula because I just hate sticky glosses. These lipglosses aren’t sticky at all, they feel lightweight on the lips and leave a gorgeous shine to the lips. It is a gloss, so that means reapplying after eating and drinking is basically a must. But this formula has a general gloss wear time of 1-2 hours without eating or drinking. I would compare these glosses to the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb formula.
The bareMinerals Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick
I actually expected these bareMinerals Radiant Lipsticks to be more like a lip balm but they’re definitely more pigmented than a normal lip balm. That’s fine, I love how they look and feel on the lips. They do feel like a lip balm though, they’re creamy and feel hydrating. They look like a normal lipstick on the lips, like they leave a little shine but nothing too much and look great.
The bareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick
I absolutely love these colors, they’re my go-to nude lip shades! I was scared that Slay would be a little bit too cold toned when I saw it in the packaging but it’s not, it looks more like a neutral pinkish nude. The matte formula is also very nice, it’s not drying out my lips, and wear time is around 3-4 hours which I think is good! If you’re looking for a comfortable matte lipstick, this could be the formula for you!
The bareMinerals Gen Nude Patent Liquid Lipstick
This bareMinerals Patent Liquid Lipstick was my least favorite formula. It felt thick and sticky, even though they look gorgeous on the lips. Compared to the Buttercream glosses, these are definitely shinier and more pigmented but also less comfortable wearing. It’s really going to be a personal preference thing because if you love thicker, stickier glosses these will be your go-to, but I personally don’t like them. The formula makes me think of the Haus Laboratories Le Riot lipgloss formula.
Here are all of the shades swatched together! I do love this color scheme and I also think none of them is 100% the same. I’m happy with the colors I chose but sadly I bought most shades from the formula I like the least. It’s okay though, I probably give 2 of them to my mom. I’ll keep 2 of them myself too, because I really like how they look on my lips and I just want them to work for me too lol. We’ll see how that goes!
