Last year, the European Parlement confirmed the new GDPR law which is for us European people to protect our privacy. Overall it’s a good thing but very quickly after this law was confirmed, I suddenly wasn’t able to reach the Sephora US site anymore. First I didn’t know this was because of the new law. Later I learned it’s because US companies can get a huge penalty if they’re saving European people’s data so Sephora US decided to cut off all European customers and we’re redirected to, for example, the Sephora France website. To be honest, I’ve been mad for so long because I just didn’t feel it was fair. I want to make my own choices when it comes to my own privacy and if I want to order something from the US, I give permission that they’re allowed to save my data. But okay, that’s another discussion lol. Anyway, recently I found out that there’s a way to get American products to Europe and so my huge Sephora haul happened.
Most of my visitors are from the United States so they don’t have any shopping problems (celebrate with a huge Sephora haul yourself lol) related to the GDPR. Do my European visitors want to see a full post about how to access the Sephora US website and how you can order everything you want from the US (even brands who don’t ship internationally just yet, like Glossier)? I’m not sure if people would like to read how I did it, but if you would like this: please let me know in the comments!
Huge Sephora Haul
If you’re following me for a while now, you might know I went to NYC last year and did another huge Sephora haul. However, I didn’t know about Milk Makeup, Ole Henriksen and Tatcha yet (how?!). Moreover, I’ve been looking at the Natasha Denona palettes every time I went to Sephora (yes, I went multiple times in 10 days lol) but ended up not buying anything. I still regret it to this day, especially when I found out I couldn’t order it from Sephora US anymore.
In the meantime, some of these brands are finally available in Europe but some of them still aren’t. Milk Makeup, for example, is not available to get in the Netherlands (Cult Beauty has some products but doesn’t ship Milk Makeup to the Netherlands yet). Moreover, no other Sephora has VIB and Rouge sales just like Sephora US has. I think that’s the worst part of it all lol.
I’ve put some #firstworldproblems tweet out about how I wasn’t able to get anything during the VIB Sale and how sad I was. Then it went very quick and all of a sudden I found a way to order products during the VIB sale. As you can tell, I went pretty nuts lol. I had to get a couple of Milk Makeup products, I wanted to try some Ole Henriksen products since everyone is raving about the Banana Bright Cream, I just had to get Tatcha mini’s and ended up finally buying a Natasha Denona palette (which came with a broken shade, I think I almost cried when I saw that). Also got my new favorite foundation from Dior, a Fenty mini eyeliner & eyeshadow primer, Huda Beauty lippies, and IGK leave-in conditioner.
I kinda wanted to buy even more but I decided this was expensive enough and I wanted to check if my new shipping method would even work. As you can tell, I did work and all my babies came in safely (well almost lol) and I was so happy to see the products!
Let’s show you a close up of all the products I’ve bought, product names and prices.
P.S. A lot of these items are great gifts for makeup lovers! I’m sure you’ll make your makeup lover friend/mom/family member/etc. super happy.
