Overview Of JUNOCO Cleansing Balm

About The Brand

JUNOCO you might know them as JUNO & Co, but they recently changed their name to JUNOCO, which is a new-generation beauty brand.

They’re tired of unrealistic beauty standards for “perfect,” poreless skin. JUNOCO is the second wave. Their stance is inherently inclusive, minimalist, and sustainable: if you make a product, it should be good for everybody—including the earth.

JUNOCO explains: “We make it our mission to create superfood, super-powered, and super clean skincare that helps bring out your own unique glow. Working with the most advanced labs worldwide, our natural ingredients are luxurious biology-centric formulas designed to work with your complexion.”

They believe that “simplicity is key,” which means that JUNOCO keeps its ingredients list minimal. Their formulas only contain the most gentle but effective ingredients.

This eliminates fillers that may contain microplastics and other irritants that will eventually wash down into the ocean, which can damage the ecosystem.

About The Cleansing Balm

The JUNOCO Cleansing Balm is a unique oil-based cleanser curated for all skin types to dissolve makeup effortlessly. It’s developed to remove even waterproof makeup and perform multiple tasks.

The cleansing balm only has 10 ingredients but heavily depends on its star ingredient, Japanese Barley Magic. This particular ingredient is a source of vitamins and antioxidants to help regulate the skin’s melanin production.

This includes brightening the skin’s complexion and reducing dark spots. The implemented technology deeply cleanses skin without stripping natural oils.

The JUNOCO Cleansing Balm Clean 10 works well for all skin types.

Things To Consider

The JUNOCO products are made without parabens, phthalates, petrochemicals, sulfates, artificial fragrances, colors or preservatives, silicones, mineral oil, phenoxyethanol, or EDTA. Their products are all cruelty-free, vegan, and include no microplastics.

Moreover, JUNOCO upcycles ingredients. Upcycling reduces waste and repurposes material that would otherwise be wasted.

I’ve never heard of a brand doing this, so it’s new to me but sounds very smart and innovative! Last but not least, JUNOCO uses reusable and recyclable packaging.

JUNOCO Cleansing Balm Review

The JUNOCO Cleansing Balm (or the JUNOSKIN Cleansing Balm based on the website) contains only 10 ingredients and is created for daily use and for every skin type. It’s an oil-based cleanser and developed to remove even waterproof makeup.

When you open the packaging, a lovely and fresh citrus scent meets you. It’s not overpowering; I actually really like this scent. It makes me think of cleaning.

Formula

When you start cleaning, and you use a product that smells fresh, doesn’t your space feels clean right away? That’s the feeling I have with this cleansing balm, lol. However, if you’re not really into scents, I think this can be a little overpowering for you.

You don’t need much product, a dime size is enough to cover your face. I scoop the product out of the packaging with the spatula and put it in my hands. Once it’s in your hands and you start rubbing them together, you can feel and see the product turn into an oily formula.

Application

That’s when I start to apply it around my face and eyes softly. My eye area is very sensitive, but I can use this cleansing balm on and around my eyes without any problem. I never noticed irritation, stinginess, or tight skin in general.

It starts to dissolve your makeup right after you start gently massaging the product with circular motions into the skin.

After I massaged for a bit, I grabbed my JUNOCO Cleansing Cookie, wet it (lukewarm water), and used it to take off the residue. My skin feels fresh, clean, and soft after using the JUNOCO Cleansing Balm!

Effectiveness

Thankfully it doesn’t leave any greasiness of the oil (which is why I normally don’t really like oil-based products, I hate a greasy feeling) and takes off all your makeup, SPF and dirt easily.

I personally like to use this cleansing balm as the first step in my double cleansing routine. I grab a lightweight cleanser, like the Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser by The Inkey List, or my Makeup Eraser Cloth to really remove every bit of residue that’s left, which is basically nothing thanks to the balm.

Want to see the JUNOCO Cleansing Balm in action? I’ve posted an IG Reel where I used it. If you don’t follow me yet, please make sure you do. 🙂

Alternatives To The JUNOCO Cleansing Balm

  • The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm: This Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm is quite similar to the JUNOCO cleanser; both remove even stubborn makeup with ease and are very affordable. I would recommend both of them, but not as a double-cleanse duo.
  • Tatcha The Rice Wash: A somewhat creamier texture and way more expensive, but still a good alternative is this Tatcha Rice Wash. If you’re open to spending some extra money and want an effective second cleanser, this one will do the job and works well after the JUNOCO cleansing balm.
  • Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Cleanser: This Drunk Elephant Cleanser has more of a similar formula to the Fresh Soy Cleanser, as it’s lightweight and gel-like, but it’s still very nice, non-stripping and cleansing the face. So if you don’t mind a thinner formula, you will really like this!

Final Verdict

To summarise my JUNO Skin Cleansing Balm review, I think the cleansing balm is great! I really love the fresh scent, how easy it is to apply, how the formula turns into an oil, and easily removes all my makeup and SPF.

The thing I love the most is how it leaves my skin feeling clean and super soft. Some cleansers leave my skin tight and as if all the moisture is taken away, but this JUNOSKIN product is very gentle and never harsh to my skin!

Quick JUNOCO Cleansing Cookie Review

This JUNOCO Cleansing Cookie is SO soft! It feels amazing on the skin and is not irritating at all.

I love to use this just to remove everything from my face after I use the JUNOCO Cleansing Balm (more like a cloth), but I also like to use it in combination with the Cleansing Balm. Both ways are perfect for helping you remove all the residue on your face.

I’ve never really used makeup wipes, but I did use quite a lot of cotton pads, which isn’t great for the environment either; I like to replace them with reusable products.

I have bamboo pads, but those are irritating my skin a lot, so I´m glad I can now throw them away (aka from my vanity, I think I might use them as cleaning cloths, lol) and just use this Cleansing Cookie or my Makeup Eraser cloth.

If you’re looking for a soft, reusable pad, get this Cleansing Cookie! It’s affordable and, in my opinion, way nicer than any other reusable pads I’ve tried.
