Kylie Cosmetics Birthday Collection 2018 is a special one because Kylie turned 21 this year! To celebrate that, she did an annual birthday collection for her brand Kylie Cosmetics. I always look forward to these collections, because Kylie always does something extra cute for her birthday. Since she’s now allowed to legally drink alcohol, she decided to create a fun and party-like collection. Let’s get into the review!

Kylie Cosmetics Birthday Collection 2018

First of all, look at the amazing packaging! I think Kylie did a great job with creating a partylike and fun theme. There are balloons everywhere, hot pink vibes and super cute pictures from Kylie all over the packaging. The pictures she took for this collection are stunning and I really feel the party vibes. Moreover, there’s packaging with red cups as well (but I didn’t buy that) which I think is a funny idea.

Kylie Cosmetics Birthday Collection 2018

1x Birthday Collection Eyeshadow Palette, 1x Birthday Collection Lipsticks: Birthday Behavior, Glam, August, Rumor, Rager, Flirtini, 1x Birthday Collection Tipsy Matte Lip Kit, 1x Birthday Collection Twenty One Matte Lip Kit, 1x Birthday Collection Baddie Matte Lip Kit, 1x Birthday Collection Glitter Eyes: Eat Cake, Born to Sparkle, Fine Wine, 1x Birthday Collection 6 pc Mini Set, 1x Birthday Collection Lip Trio, 1x Champagne Showers Highlighter, 1x Birthday Collection Makeup Bag.

I decided to buy the eyeshadow palette, Champagne Showers highlighter, Twenty One Matte Lip Kit, August and Flirtini matte lipsticks. I will tell you the prices and all the details later in this review!

In all honesty, I fell in love with every single item when Kylie revealed the collection. I wanted a bundle which includes every product. However, I ended up buying the only products I would truly wear because it’s a lot of money to get every single product just for the packaging. At least, I’m sure this is my favorite packaging ever! Get ready for a lot of pictures, swatches, and my opinion!

Champagne Showers Pressed Highlighter

First of all, here’s the carton packaging from the Champagne Showers highlighter. It’s a picture of Kylie eating something that looks very delicious and has ‘Get Lit’ on it which is sparkly. Above all, I love the sparkles, such a cute detail to the packaging. The back contains product information and ingredients.

Here’s the actual packaging which is a little bit disappointing after such a great carton packaging. I mean, It’s just black with silver details. Also, the back has silver details, product information and the name on it. I would’ve liked it if the packaging would match the carton packaging more. On the other hand, this matches the overall look of the brand very well.

Here’s the inside! First of all, I like that the inside has a pop of color. I love the bright pink vibes, which she brings back through this whole collection. It contains a mirror as well, which is a plus for me. The highlighter itself is a light champagne gold. The bright pink almost makes it look like it’s more a peachy/pinkish highlighter but that’s not the case. I think it looks stunning in the pan!

Left pictures is with natural light and the right picture is with flashlight.

Left picture is with natural light and the right picture is with a flashlight. The highlighter doesn’t really look blinding in these swatches but I can guarantee you that it’s definitely very pigmented and you can build it up to a very blinding highlighter. It looks very natural on my face and I love how I can change the highlighter from a natural glow to a blinding glow. The formula is very nice, feels soft and applies smooth. It’s not too glittery and not powdery at all.

August and Flirtini matte lipsticks

This is the cutest packaging I’ve ever seen! The front has a picture of Kylie, the back has product information and on the top, you can find the shade name. I got August which is a soft pale nude and Flirtini which is a true pink.

The left one with the pink packaging is August and the right one with the blue packaging is Flirtini. I really like the colors of the actual lipstick packaging. The bright colors are super stunning and fun. She had all kind of different colors for them, in total, 5 matte lipsticks. Moreover, the colors of the lipsticks are really my thing. August is a true nude and Flirtini is a pinker nude color to me. I mean, you know I like nude lipsticks right haha! 🙂

The left picture is with natural light and the right picture is with a flashlight. These aren’t my best swatches because I swatched them really lightly. I didn’t want to ruin them haha. However, the color payoff is great. They apply really smooth, they’re very comfortable and look matte on the lips. They still feel creamy on the lips, not drying at all which is really nice.

Twenty One Matte Liquid Lip Kit

First of all, I have to say that this lip kit is also a collector’s item for me. Last year, I bought the birthday collection Twenty lip kit, so I had to get this Twenty One lip kit as well. Moreover, I’m the same age as Kylie. Well, actually just for a little while because I’ll be twenty-two in October. I think it’s fun to buy a lip kit with my age on it, as like a memory. This probably sounds stupid haha. Anyway, the packaging is really pretty with the bright pink glitter lips on the front. Everything is all black and the back has product information on it in white.

The inside has a cute little detail because it has bright pink ‘#21”s all over it. I really like that! Also, the actual lipstick tube and pencil have a bright pink cap to match the theme. I think it looks absolutely amazing! Twenty One is a salmon pink.

The color is a little bit brighter than I expected but it’s super pretty. I mean, I don’t think I would wear this every day but that’s okay. The lipliner matches the lipstick very well and they’re both very pigmented. Moreover, the lipstick dries down matte and stays on all day. I just apply it on my arm, that’s why it’s still a bit wet looking. The matte formula is one of my favorites. I don’t think it’s drying and I love how it stays on so well, even after eating and drinking.

Sipping Pretty Eyeshadow Palette

I think I was most excited for this palette because this is Kylie’s first 21 shades (get it, 21 years and 21 shades) palette and I was really curious how it would perform. Again, the packaging is great! But just like the highlighter, it’s a little bit disappointing that the palette itself is just black, instead of the amazing picture that’s on the carton packaging. However, I do like the black with bright pink glitters though.

WOW! Look at the inside! The colors are sooooo pretty. That bright pink catches my eye immediately. To start with the inside, it has a huge mirror but no names under the pans. It would be easier if the names were on the inside but they’re on the back. However, I love the shade range, the variety and the pops of color in this palette!

Each Birthday Collection Sipping Pretty palette contains the following shades:

Vanilla on Vanilla (matte pale peach)

Birthday Bitch (metallic pink with multi-colored sparkle)

Sangria (matte mahogany brown)

Martini Mama (satin champagne pink)

Pre-Game (matte warm beige)

Sex On The Beach (metallic golden brown)

LIT (metallic dirty gold)

Close the Tab (matte orange-brown)

Moscow Mule (matte dusty rose)

Swatches

So, here’s the first row of shades. Left picture is with natural light and the right picture with a flashlight. From top to bottom: Vanilla on Vanilla, Martini Mama, Pretty, Moscow Mule, 21+, Check ID and Jungle Juice.

Hello, colors! The bright pink is amazing. Besides that, all shades swatched easily, are very pigmented, not patchy or powdery and have a velvety smooth texture.

Secondly, here’s the second row of the palette. Left picture is with natural light and the right picture with a flashlight. Top to bottom: Birthday Bitch, Pre-Game, LIT, Tequila Tangerine, On The List, RSVP and Party Animal.

Another row full of stunning colors! The only color that disappointed me a little bit is the blue one, Party Animal. I expected it to be a brighter blue. It’s still a pretty color, with brighter blue sparkles in it. Moreover, I think mixing this row with the Norvina palette would give super pretty eye looks. I’m going to try this soon!

Lastly, here’s the third row of the palette. Left picture is with natural light and the right picture is with a flashlight. Top to bottom: Sangria, Sex On The Beach, Close The Tab, Mimosa, Pour Decisions, Hungover and Blackout.

As you can see right away, the 4th and 5th shade (Mimosa and Pour Decisions) look very patchy. That’s a bummer. The black kinda looks patchy too, however, I didn’t see that while swatching. Anyway, Mimosa and Pour Decisions aren’t looking very good and it wasn’t easy to apply them. All the other shades were just like the other two rows and performed very good. The first 3 shades are my favorites from this row. Very pigmented and looking good!

Final Thoughts

I really really really love the packaging from this collection. Kylie did an amazing job! Besides that, I, of course, enjoyed the products itself as well. Everything performed very well, is very pigmented, stays on all day and looks amazing. I had some problems with 2 out the 21 shades from the eyeshadow palette but overall it performed very well. This collection has to be my favorite one so far!

Did you get anything from the collection? Let me know in the comments!

Hope to see you next time loves,
