The Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss formula still belongs in my top 10 favorite glosses, but over the years, I’ve tried formulas I love even more, or at least, just as much. However, the High Glosses are still extremely pretty, comfortable, and non-sticky.

Cons
  • A little bit of a thicker formula compared to other glosses on the market

When I first wrote this Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss Review, it was 2018, and I didn’t expect a complete rebrand. But no worries, I kept the previous first impression and review of the High Gloss formula in this blog post.

However, I did update the review to match the Kylie Cosmetics rebrand – I got 4 of the High Glosses after they rebranded because I wanted to see if I still adore the formula. If you want to see my 2018 review, click here to jump to that part.

Besides that, I have swatched my old shades to the new shades so we can see if the shades changed in pigment!

If you want to read my thoughts on the new, rebranded Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss formula, then keep on reading as you will come across this part first. Enjoy!

Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss Review

As a Kylie Cosmetics fan and High Gloss hoarder, I was planning on grabbing all shades in their rebranded packaging but I tried to keep myself together so I only got 4 shades. The ones I got are the ones I’ve always loved most: Diva, Cupid, Oh, You Fancy? and Damn Gina.

Pigmentation

The glosses are opaque to sheer, which is expected from a gloss formula and something I don’t mind. They add a hint of color to the lips – some shades more than others – and a gorgeous, shiny finish.

The shades that contain glitter have an extra dimension to them which is seen when the light hits the gloss. I really love how this looks; the gloss gets that extra ‘wow’ effect.

Formula

The formula is still lightweight and non-sticky – thankfully! I don’t notice a big difference between the current and old formulations. Based on that, I would say that the formula stayed the same, except for the ingredients that became fully vegan, clean, and gluten-free.

I find the High Gloss formula comfortable on the lips – they don’t have a drying feeling at all. If I were to compare them to the extremely lightweight formula of Tower 28 gloss, the High Gloss is definitely a bit thicker; however, not unpleasantly thick at all.

If you’ve read my first review on them, I compared them to a lip balm feel. Now that we have gloss formulas and lip oils on the market, I don’t think the High Glosses are thát hydrating anymore. But I still agree that it’s a nice, non-drying, comfortable gloss formula.

Application

The High Glosses have a thick, big applicator which makes application easy. One swipe easily coats the lips – with more layers, you will get somewhat more pigment without it being unpleasant to wear.

I love wearing the High Glosses with a Kylie Cosmetics Lip Liner beneath. I feel like this makes my lips look fuller and even shinier. The combination is also nice for longer wearing.

Longevity

I find these glosses to be quite long-wearing! Yes, it’s still a gloss, so they don’t stay on for hours and hours, but I’ve had these glosses stay on for at least 1.5-2 hours which I think is quite long for these types of formulas.

Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss Swatches

Here are the swatches of the new Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss formula only in the four shades that I bought. As you can tell, they’re quite opaque and, overall, look very pretty!

My personal favorite shade is Damn Gina – but they’re all so gorgeous, honestly.

New VS Old Swatches

I wasn’t really expecting this, but it looks like Cupid and Damn Gina were more pigmented in their old formula compared to the new formula. Cupid used to be more peachy, too, whereas it is now more peachy pink. I don’t see much difference between Diva and Oh You Fancy, though.

Other than the look of the shades, I didn’t notice any huge formula differences, as I already said. The formula is still very good and one of my favorites!

Alternatives

  • Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb: The thickness of the Fenty glosses is similar to the High Glosses; both are a bit thicker but not too thick. I also love the Gloss Bombs, so they make a great alternative!
  • Tower 28 Milky Lip Jelly Glosses: This has to be one of my all-time favorite lip gloss formulas ever, as it is SO lightweight and SO comfortable. If you’re looking for a gloss that feels like a lip balm, try the Tower 29 glosses!
  • NARS Lip Gloss: I hadn’t tried their glosses properly before they reformulated, but this new NARS gloss formula is so similar to Tower 28’s formula and SO comfortable. They also deliver a gorgeous glassy finish, which is worth checking out.

Final Verdict

The Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss formula still belongs in my top 10 favorite glosses, but over the years, I’ve tried formulas I love even more, or at least just as much. However, the High Glosses are still extremely pretty, comfortable, and non-sticky.

I still love these glosses and will praise them as they’re amazing. I also love that they’re clean, vegan, and gluten-free now, by the way! And cruelty-free, of course.

Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss Bundle 2018

Kylie Cosmetics came out with a new lipgloss formula called High Gloss. In September, Kylie gave us a sneak peek when she first launched two shades in her Kylie x Jordyn collection.

Recently Kylie Cosmetics launched seven shades in this new formula, and I bought the whole bundle. Curious to see swatches and hear my opinion? Then keep on reading!

Recently, I bought the WHOLE Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss Bundle and asked on social media (follow me if you don’t already!) which review you would like to see first, and most of you all voted for the High Gloss Bundle. So today, I’m going to tell you everything about these new glosses from Kylie Cosmetics.

As I said before, back in September, Kylie gave us a sneak peek of the new gloss formula when she launched two shades with her Kylie x Jordyn collection. She already told us that she would come out with more shades very soon. For this reason, two months later, she launched seven new shades in her High Gloss formula.

The two Kylie x Jordyn High Glosses

Speaking about this new formula, this is how the High Gloss formula is explained: “High Shine Gloss is an ultra-glossy, luminous gloss that glides on the lips smoothly and evenly with added shea butter, leaving behind a radiant and moisturizing shine. Wear alone, with your favorite Lip Liner or layer on top of your favorite Matte Liquid Lipstick.”

The High Gloss formula from the Kylie x Jordyn collection had me super excited, and that’s why I decided to get the whole bundle. All seven colors looked stunning to me!

Here’s the packaging and the shade names. From left to right: Klear, Yesss Girl, Diva, Snatched, Always Shining, Daddy’s Girl, and Oh You Fancy?

The packaging looks cute and different from all of Kylie’s other packaging. The High Glosses are smaller than her normal glosses. The size is similar to the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb size.

The actual shades! I can tell you, those pictures don’t do these gorgeous glosses justice. In real life, they’re even prettier! I really like the pink cab and the details.

It’s not super handy, though, because you can’t see which shade you’re picking up when they’re having all the same cab. I might keep them in their carton packaging for a while to see which color I’m picking.

The High Glosses have different finishes. There are shimmer glosses, pigmented glosses, and a more sheer gloss. I like the variety of finishes.

There’s a gloss for everyone in this bundle. Moreover, you can also buy them separately if you only like 1 or more glosses but not all of them. I’m so in love with these glosses! They’re so pretty!!

Shade Descriptions

  • Daddy’s Girl is a sheer baby pink with copper shimmer
  • Always Shining is sheer with bright silver shimmer
  • Klear is sheer with a light pink tint
  • Yesss Girl is a sheer bright gold with pink flip
  • Snatched is an opaque mauve pink
  • Diva is an opaque light pink
  • Oh You Fancy? is sheer with silver champagne pearls

I find it very hard to get a good picture of the glosses. You can’t really see the shimmers but trust me, they’re super pretty and shimmery.

Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss Bundle Review

Diva and Snatched are the more pigmented glosses, and you can really tell they’re pigmented. All shades have different shimmers/colors to them, so they might look alike, but in real life, you can really see a difference. I feel you can see that a little bit in my pictures.

One has a more golden finish, one a more pink finish, one a more rose gold finish, and 2 have a clear finish (one with shimmers and one without).

The smell is amazing! They smell super sweet but not too heavy, though, so it’s just a nice fragrance to it. Moreover, they glide on super easily and feel very nice on the lips. Even though a gloss isn’t really long-lasting, I do think these glosses stay on longer than my other glosses.

I even had a hard time getting the swatches off my arm! This is definitely a plus for me. Moreover, they’re not sticky at all! I really hate sticky glosses, but these glosses just feel like a very hydrating lip balm.

They look amazing on the lips; they’re glossy, but not where it’s too much. I love the shimmers, you can wear the top alone or on top of a (matte) lipstick. The pigmented glosses are pigmented enough to wear alone, which I think is very good. Overall, I really, really love these glosses!

Final Thoughts

I’m extremely happy with these High Glosses. The formula is amazing, feels very hydrating, and is not sticky at all. The colors are very pretty. You can see them on their own or with (matte) lipstick. You won’t regret buying these glosses!

Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss Bundle Additions 2018/2019

I separated them by launch dates/new additions to make it a bit easier. The seven shades are the first launch of the High Glosses. The two glosses are from the Kylie x Jordyn collection; then Kylie launched three other limited edition shades in her Lip Sets for Valentine’s Day.

The most recently launched shades are the last 4, also an addition to the collection. I only miss the shade Slept On; besides that shade, I own all of the High Glosses.

Story Of Us, Sweet, Blow Me Away, 23, Daddy’s Girl, Oh You Fancy?, Always Shining, Yesss Girl, Crystal, Klear, Partner in Crime, Snatched, Diva.

I don’t think I ever did something more challenging than swatching so many glosses and getting them all on the picture, lol. In this picture, I added all the glitter High Glosses to the swatches I already made.

Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss Review

I truly LOVE this formula. It’s so soft, so smooth, so nice! I even wear this gloss when my lips are dry, so comfortable these glosses are. You can wear them alone or on top of lipstick or lip liner. It’s a gloss, so they don’t stay on forever, but they do last a while.

These High Glosses… like if you haven’t tried them yet then you’re truly missing out. I even think this must be one of my favorite products from Kylie Cosmetics. I wear these all the time!
