This launch was very unexpected for me but one I was and still am excited about! Kylie Cosmetics is expanding its makeup line with many new products! One of the new products which Kylie came out with is loose setting powders. The ones I bought to try out are Soft Pink and Translucent. I’m going to tell you everything about the powders!

Both the loose setting powders in Soft Pink and Translucent came in a very chic black packaging, which I adore! I love the packaging change to black carton packaging and pink packaging of the actual product. The actual packaging is actually pretty big and you can see the color of the powder through the sides which are transparent.

There are 6 different shades:

  • Translucent: fair to tan skin tones
  • Soft Pink: fair to light skin tones
  • Yellow: light to medium skin tones
  • Beige: medium to tan skin tones
  • Dark: deep to deep dark skin tones
  • Deep Dark: deep dark skin tones

All of them contain 0.35 oz / 10 gram and retail for $24.

My Thoughts

Since I’m fair to light skin tone, the best shades for me are Soft Pink and Translucent. I think Yellow would’ve been just right or too dark so I didn’t want to risk that. I’ve been using them for I think, a month now, and I find myself only grabbing these two loose powders. Also, I do own the Laura Mercier and KKW Beauty loose setting powders but haven’t touched them since I own the Kylie ones.

My favorite thing about the Kylie Cosmetics loose setting powders is that they are not that brightening. I love the Laura Mercier loose setting powder but it sometimes makes my under eyes too bright. Personally, I like a more natural look and the Kylie ones are perfect for this. The most natural one for me is Soft Pink, shade Translucent gives me a little bit of a brightening effect but nothing too much.

It’s very easy to get the product out of the packaging and guys, the powder formula… I don’t think I’ve ever touched a powder softer than these! My skin feels amazingly soft when I put these powders on! The moment I felt that I was in love. Moreover, the powder does its job setting my makeup and feels truly weightless. I’m obsessed!

In Conclusion

I think this loose setting powder is worth its price. You get a lot amount of product and great quality. However, if have to add that Laura Mercier’s powder is a bit more expensive but you’ll also get a little bit more product (she also has a loose setting powder which offers 3 times the Kylie amount of powder). If you like a more brightening effect, I would recommend Laura Mercier or the Translucent Kylie Cosmetics powder. I think both are great! Keep in mind that Kylie’s powder is more natural. It depends if you prefer more natural or brightening of which you would like to try. Otherwise Soft Pink is very pretty for a natural look.

Did you already try Kylie’s new setting powders? What are your thoughts?

Hope to see you next time loves,

Oh I like how you described the pink powder as being more natural – sometimes I just want a powder to set my face without looking too heavy or too brightening. I’ve been quite impressed by the route Kylie has been taking her brand.
