2 Gorgeous Lancome Lipsticks Give A Luxurious Feeling

If you’re looking for a luxurious lipstick that will give you a smooth, long-lasting finish, then Lancome lipsticks are definitely worth considering. With a wide range of shades to choose from and a range of formulas to suit different skin tones and preferences, Lancome lipsticks are sure to please.
In this review, we’ll take a closer look at what Lancome lipsticks have to offer in 2 of their L’Absolu Rouge Intimatte formula shades, durability, and overall performance.
Lancome Lipsticks Review
The first thing I noticed was that there aren’t many nude shades available in this matte formula, which is kind of a bummer for me because, as you know by now, I mainly wear nude lipstick.
Browsing the shade range, Worn Off Nude was basically the only kind of nude shade I could find, with Killing Me Softly as the closest following nude option – but as you can tell, I don’t necessarily think Killing Me Softly is a nude shade.
Worn Off Nude is quite a nude shade on me, but it’s probably going to be too dark for pale to light skin tones; however, it would be a great nude for people with light to medium skin tones.
Pigmentation
The pigmentation of these Lancome Lipsticks is excellent; with one swipe, you already have a decent amount of pigment. If you go over it one more time, or even twice if you want to, you get great pigment and great color payoff.
This also means that the matte formula is buildable without looking less flattering or crumbling on the lips. It also feels lightweight, with one layer but also with three layers. No problems here!
Formula
The formula is fantastic, as it feels like velvet on the lips; it’s soft and comfortable while still giving the look of matte lips. It also has a blurring effect, whereas it makes lip lines disappear a bit. I like this!
Application
The round shape of the lipstick makes precise application a little more complicated. Applying the lipstick precisely around the cupid’s bow is possible, but it requires some techniques I usually don’t use when applying “normal” pointed-tip lipstick.
To be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of the round-shaped tip. It makes the application a little more challenging, in my opinion, but it isn’t the worst. I can work with it, but I wouldn’t prefer this tip over a pointed tip.
Longevity
It’s quite long-wearing but not as long as I expected – or how long other matte lipsticks stay on – around 3 – 3.5 hours of wearing; these Lancome Lipsticks are starting to fade. They fade naturally, without the crumbles or harsh lines, which I appreciate.
I would’ve preferred a little longer wear time, but it isn’t bad. You can easily touch up the middle of the lips to make it look newly applied again, as the outer sides of the lips stay covered the longest.
Alternatives
- Makeup By Mario Ultra Suede Lipsticks: Formula-wise, these are very similar. However, the Ultra Suede Lipsticks come in a range of nude shades. If you’re a nude lipstick lover like I am, I recommend checking out the Makeup By Mario Ultra Suede Lipsticks! They’re very comfortable and pigmented, just like the matte Lancome Lipsticks, and are even longer-wearing.
- Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipsticks: The Huda Power Bullet Lipsticks are probably even more comfortable than the Lancome Lipsticks, and the Lancome lippies are super comfortable already. The Huda Matte Lipsticks are amazingly pigmented in one swipe, always very pleasantly wearing, look fantastic and stay on for at least 4-5 hours (without eating/drinking).
Final Verdict
The Lancome Lipstick L’Absolu Rouge Intimatte is a very pleasant formula that feels comfortable and lightweight but still looks matte on the lips. It also has blurring properties that smooth out the lip lines.
The longevity was slightly less impressive, but it isn’t bad, either. The round tip of the lipstick isn’t my favorite way of application, which is a little disappointing, but you can definitely work with it.
The Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Intimatte Lipsticks might not be my favorite lipstick formula of all time, but it’s for sure a great formula in general.
