I have been raving about this Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer for a good year, if not longer, and was kinda shocked I’ve never dedicated a full review to this product. I wanted to share my love and appreciation for this 2-in-1 innovative product and explain why…

  • I think this toner is so good and what makes it different than other toners
  • For which skin types this toner works best (and it’s not only dry skin types!)
  • What the benefits are of using the Laneige Cream Skin Toner
  • Two alternatives I think are quite similar to the Laneige one
10Expert Score
Laneige Cream Skin Toner
It might sound like an average, excellent product, but it is much more than that. I see a difference in my skin’s health when I don’t use it, as my skin is less hydrated, duller, and less smooth. It might sound stupid, but I don’t like living without this toner; it’s just an essential staple in my routine for hydrated skin!

I can’t really remember exactly who used this product, but I believe it was Nicol Concilio, and she said it was a good product for her dry skin. Don’t pin me on the person who said it, I’m not 100% sure. I’ve been trying to find it, but Nicol is killing it with the content, so I had to go through a lot, and this is probably something she said like 1 or 1.5 years ago, lol.

Anyway, because I heard it was good for dry skin and I needed something as I felt like my skin was drier back in the day (and still is), I wanted to give this a try. Fast forward to now, I purchased multiple bottles, and I haven’t found anything that’s similar/has similar benefits. I’m using the Fenty Skin Toner at the moment, which is good, but I’m missing my Laneige Cream Skin Toner, can’t wait to open my next bottle.

2-in-1 Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer

So what exactly is this Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer? It basically is the same moisturization as a jar of cream, but made into the lightweight texture of a toner. It’s supposed to strengthen and soothe depleted skin to reveal a perfectly plump, dewy finish. The Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer has a little sister, the Cream Skin Mist, however, I just got it recently so I won’t be able to share my thoughts just yet. There’s also a Cream Skin Oil Cleanser available but I haven’t purchased and/or tested it.

The secret to its dual powers lies with LANEIGE’s innovative Cream Blending Technology™: a high-pressure blending process that breaks down the cream into nano units before immersing it into a toner so it won’t separate. As for the precious ingredients, it’s infused with amino acid-rich white tea leaves – grown in the shade of tea fields of South Korea’s Jeju Island and harvested once a year – to effectively strengthen, moisturize, and soothe your skin.

The Benefits

  1. It has a very thin and lightweight texture;
  2. One layer should be enough for most skin types so you can use a bottle for quite some time;
  3. Gets absorbed quickly;
  4. Very moisturizing and hydrating;
  5. Leaves the skin plump and glowy.

Best Suited For

This product is best for normal and dry skin but all skin types can use this for extra hydration if needed. Even a combination and oily skin will love this toner!

How To Use

Following your AM/PM cleansing routine, shake the product into your hands. Apply moisturizing toner onto the entire face and pat gently into the skin until absorbed. If your skin is craving extra hydration, layer the product by reapplying.

Things To Note

The Laneige Cream Skin Toner is free of parabens, phthalates, and mineral oil, and contains less than one percent of synthetic fragrances. Caution: Laneige is not cruelty-free! If animal testing for cosmetics is deemed “necessary” according to the company, or required by law, they perform these tests.

Where To Buy

The Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer retails for $33 (5.0 oz/ 150 mL) and is available at Laneige’s own website laneige.com, Sephora, Stylevana, and Cult Beauty.

Laneige Cream Skin Toner Review

The Laneige Cream Skin Toner is very lightweight and refreshing when you put it on your face, while it’ll never make my skin feel sticky or greasy. It’s very hydrating right from the get-go. It’s a great base layer for products that will follow after a toner, such as a serum and a moisturizer. This toner helps the skin absorb all the hydrating and moisturizing products that come next, which is great for my dry skin!

You’ll see results pretty much immediately when it comes to plump and glowy skin because this is visible right after applying. If you use this regularly it means you’ll have always plump, healthy, and glowy skin. No irritation, no redness, no burning, it makes my skin feel smooth, calm, and hydrated. It truly is a must-have product!

My “I need extra moisture” night skincare routine looks like this: double cleanse – Laneige Toner – Hyaluronic Acid Serum – Polyglutamic Acid Serum – Thick Moisturizer. A normal night skincare routine looks like this: double cleanse – Laneige Toner – Hyaluronic Acid Serum – Vitamin C Serum or Retinol Serum – Moisturizer. My morning routine is quite simple and looks like this: Cleanser – Laneige Toner – Hyaluronic Acid – Moisturizer – Sunscreen.

What Makes It Different?

The toners I’ve tried before were all pretty much stripping my skin instead of hydrating. They basically irritated my skin, made it look red, and overall felt like they were stripping the skin. The Laneige Cream Skin Toner has never irritated, stripped, or mistreated my skin ever. It helps my skin absorb the other products better and just is the boost of hydration dry skin needs.

Alternatives

  • Pyunkang Yul – Essence Toner: Hydration-wise, I think this one is very similar to the Laneige Cream Skin toner but is cheaper so if you’re looking for a similar type of toner for less money I’m sure you’d enjoy this one!
  • Haruharu WONDER – Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner: Even though I don’t think this is just as good as the Laneige Cream Skin, I do think it makes a great alternative and is an average but very nice, hydrating toner.

Final Verdict

It might sound like an average, nice product but it is so much more than that. I see a difference in my skin’s health when I don’t use it, as my skin is less hydrated, duller, and less smooth. It might sound stupid but I don’t like living without this toner, it’s just a basic staple in my routine for hydrated skin!
