The moment I tried the LORAC Cosmetics Lux Diamond palette I fell in love with the brand. So pretty quickly after that, the LORAC Cosmetics Unzipped and Unzipped Gold palettes got a place on my wishlist. A couple of weeks ago, LORAC had an amazing discount and so I went in a bought both the palettes. Since I wanted to see if their other products are just as good, I ended up getting a lip liner and a créme eyeshadow as well.

Not gonna lie, when I saw the LORAC packaging I thought my products would be broken. Especially the lip liner packaging looked pretty bad. However, everything arrived in perfect condition thankfully!

As you might know, I’m a neutral palette lover so I just had to get both the LORAC Cosmetics Unzipped palettes. I’ve included a comparison in this review as well. If you’re thinking about just getting one of them, it’s easy to see which one you like most!

The products I’ve bought and included in this haul are:

LORAC Cosmetics Unzipped Eyeshadow Palette

Top Row: Undercover (cream, matte), Unbelievable (rose gold, shimmer), Unattainable (copper brown, shimmer), Unconditional (pink mauve, matte), and Unbridled (cranberry brown, matte).
Bottom Row: Undiscovered (white gold, shimmer), Unreal (cool rose gold, shimmer), Uncensored (bronze brown, shimmer), Unspoken (light warm brown, matte), and Untamed (plum brown, shimmer).

The LORAC eyeshadow palette formula is insane. It’s so soft, so smooth, so pigmented, so blendable. The only thing I mentioned is that the shadows are a bit more powdery. I don’t mind that myself, but I just wanted to mention this for the people who don’t like powdery shadows. I think this little bit extra powderiness makes them so soft and easy to work with. I prefer a super pigmented shadow with a little bit of fallout (nothing worse on the face) over a less pigmented shadow with no fallout at all.

This palette is more pinkish and cooler-toned than the Unzipped Gold palette, which you’ll see in a second. I love the shades in this palette so much! It’s a perfect, everyday palette with a couple of metallics to make the look a little bit more glam if you want to.

The LORAC Cosmetics Unzipped palette retails for $35. The palette also comes with an eyeshadow primer!

LORAC Cosmetics Unzipped Gold Eyeshadow Palette

Top Row: Undressed (cream, matte), Uninhibited (cream, shimmer), Unpredictable (light warm gold, shimmer), Undeniable (medium warm brown, matte), and Unedited (dark cool brown, matte)
Bottom Row: Unlocked (white gold, shimmer), Unlimited (deep yellow gold, shimmer), Unleashed (copper bronze, shimmer), Unwind (medium cool brown, matte), and Unafraid (dark cool brown, shimmer)

One of the things I mentioned right away, was that the Unzipped Gold palette felt more powdery than the Unzipped palette. As I said above, I already think Unzipped is a bit powdery but this one is a bit worse. I had pretty much kickback in the pan and some fallout on the arm and face. However, the shadows are the same quality as the Unzipped palette. Super soft, pigmented, super easy to blend, easy to work with, and just overall so stunning.

The Unzipped Gold palette is, obviously, more gold and warmer toned but it does have some cooler shades in it as well. I like that! It’s easy to create both a cool-toned and warm-toned look.

The LORAC Cosmetics Unzipped Gold palette retails for $35. The palette also comes with an eyeshadow primer!

LORAC Cosmetics Unzipped and Unzipped Gold Comparison

The top one is Unzipped Gold, the bottom one is Unzipped.

Even though they look pretty similar in the pan, I do see a lot of difference between the swatches. However, these are both obviously neutral palettes so they’re going to be a bit similar. I don’t think it’s a waste of money to buy them both. As you can tell, the tones are different.

Qualitywise, they’re both the same. Only the Unzipped Gold palette is slightly more powdery. They both swatched like a dream and are so smooth. I’m obsessed!

LORAC Cosmetics Créme Eyeshadow in the shade Lace

The créme shadow looked pretty cracked in the bottle. It’s not stuck to the edges so I think I need to be careful with the product falling out. However, the product itself still works fine and that’s most important. I really love the shade Lace which I’ve picked up out of 6 different shades. It’s a subtle golden shade.

The formula is super creamy and lovely. It isn’t extremely pigmented, which isn’t a problem because I like how this is more subtle but still adding a glam touch. It’s nothing like the Kylie Cosmetics Shimmer Eye Glazes for reference. The Kylie ones are why more glittery. If you’re more into a subtle little glam touch, this LORAC créme shadow is definitely your thing!

The LORAC Cosmetics Créme Shadow retails for $22 each.

LORAC Cosmetics Alter Ego Lip Liner in the shade Duchess

Last but not least, I also picked up a LORAC Cosmetics Alter Ego Lip Liner in the shade Duchess. A beautiful rosy nude shade. I was actually surprised by this liner since it’s one you don’t have to sharpen. I expected a pencil so I was pleasantly surprised since I think this works really nice.

The formula is very creamy, glides on the lips (or arm), and feels overall very nice on the lips. I love it!

The LORAC Cosmetics Alter Ego Lip Liner retails for $17 each.

  2. Oooh! I haven’t tried LORAC Cosmetics before but you can never go wrong with gold palettes. I like the simple packaging – it looks rich and LOVE the different options within the palette. The price is great as well! The lip liner looks really nice – big plus that the texture looks rich. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
