This must be one of the most well-known products ever: The MAC Cosmetics Prep and Prime Fix+ setting spray. Every makeup lover knows about this and I think most of the makeup lovers have ever owned one. This setting spray is a hit and MAC knows it. So they’ve created a couple of Prep and Prime Fix+ with different scents. Is the formula still the same?
Right now, there are 4 different MAC Cosmetics Prep and Prime Fix+ setting sprays. The original one, a rose-scented one, a lavender scented one, and a coconut scented one. The last one is the one I got since I love the smell of coconut. All four bottles contain the same amount of product and the same formula. The only difference is the scent.
MAC Cosmetics Prep and Prime Fix+ with Coconut scent
Water\Aqua\Eau, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Extract, Hypnea Musciformis (Algae) Extract, Gellidiela Acerosa (Algae) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Caffeine, Panthenol, Arginine, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ppg-26-Buteth-26, Fragrance (Parfum), Disodium Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehydroacetate
I started using it as a primer, which I don’t know if a lot of people use it for the same purpose. A lot of people in the beauty community use this to wet your brush before applying eyeshadow, as a setting spray or to refresh your makeup.
I have to admit I understand why everyone loves this product, it’s really nice and the coconut scent is amazing. The scent is not really overwhelming so that’s good. I spray the Fix+ before I start doing my makeup and it really makes my makeup more flawless. Besides using it as a primer, I like to use this to wet my brush or sponge as well. I also grab this once in a while to use it as a setting spray. It’s very diverse as you can read.
This is what is stated on the MAC Cosmetics website:
A lightweight mist of water packed with vitamins and minerals, infused with a blend of green tea, chamomile and cucumber to gently soothe and refresh the skin. Gives an instant boost of hydration while delivering a soft sheen to refresh and finish makeup. This holy grail of hydrating mists can be used with other products in near-endless ways – to sheer out foundation, intensify colour, improve and extend the wear of makeup, or moisturize and soothe tired skin. A delicious twist in a permanent romantic rose scent, calming lavender scent, or creamy coconut scent.
I definitely agree with them saying it’s a lightweight mist and refreshing the skin. However, I haven’t seen the soft sheen myself. I think it’s hard to tell if this Fix+ is really hydrating and moisturizing but it’s not drying so that’s something I guess lol. Overall, it’s a good product and I love using it to wet my brush. It makes my eyeshadow pop a lot more.
As you can tell, I almost run out of my Fix+ so I already bought a new one! If I buy a replacement than that’s a good sign.
