Cons
  • The formula feels a little dry to the touch

The Melt Cosmetics Powder Blushlights got my attention because it’s a hybrid between a blush and a highlighter, giving a flush of color and a glow. I wanted to see how this would look, so I picked up the shade Nevermore.

In this review, I’m answering all questions you may have; how does this blush look, how does it perform, and is it pigmented? Continue reading to find all the answers!

Melt Cosmetics Powder Blushlight In Nevermore

Melt Cosmetics has a couple of matte blushes and some with a shimmer. Nevermore is one with a shimmer in it. I don’t have a lot of blushes with a shimmer, so I decided to choose Nevermore. I would describe this blush as a peachy-pink blush with a golden shimmer.

Pigmentation

The Melt Cosmetics Powder Blushlights are opaque; it is not highly pigmented with one swipe but has enough pigment right away. I like this in a blush because itโ€™s better to build up the pigment to avoid mistakes.

The blush has a beautiful shimmer, and I love how it looks on the face! It gives such a gorgeous natural glow to the cheeks. I’m obsessed with how healthy and glowy this made me look!ย

Formula

The formula feels relatively dry when touched with your finger, and before application, this worried me a bit. I have dry skin, and a drier powder formula on top of my skin often doesnโ€™t look so great. However, I didnโ€™t notice anything from this when I actually applied the blush to my cheeks.

It didnโ€™t accentuate dry areas, texture, or pores at all, and itโ€™s not looking powdery either. It feels lightweight, as I donโ€™t even feel I have anything on my cheeks, and it gives a gorgeous luminous finish. As this luminous finish looks natural, Iโ€™m sure both dry and oily skin can pull this off without looking greasy or too shiny.

Application

The blush is very smooth, not powdery at all, picks up quickly on the brush and swatched easily on the arm, and is pigmented. You don’t need much of this blush for it to show up on your face. If you’re pale, just like me, I would recommend applying the blush with a light hand and adding more layers if you want more color payoff. ย

Longevity

The Melt Cosmetics Nevermore Blushlight stayed on effortlessly all day โ€“ as if I hadnโ€™t worn it for 8 hours. Its staying power is fantastic โ€“ definitely a long-wearing blush, no touch-ups needed, perfect for all-day wear!

Alternatives

  • RMS Beauty reDimension Hydra Powder Blush: The drier formula of the Blushlights made me think about the RMS Beauty powder blushes, which are basically the same to the touch and lightweight on the cheeks โ€“ and this formula is also excellent, just like the Melt blushes.
  • bareMinerals Blonzers: Formula-wise, the Blonzer formula feels more smooth and is more pigmented right away, but the finish is very similar to the Blushlights. Both have this gorgeous luminous finish โ€“ if youโ€™re looking for a dupe, here you go!
  • Melt Cosmetics Cream Blushlights: Even though this might not be a complete dupe, the Cream Blushlights are the sisters of the Powder Blushlights, which I love even more. If you love cream blush, you need to check these out!

Final Verdict

I really love how natural The Melt Cosmetics Powder Blushlight in Nevermore looks on my skin tone. It gives this rosy flush of color to the cheeks and the most stunning glow.

Even though the formula felt a bit drier, you don’t see this back in the application or how this blush looks on the skin. It doesn’t;t accentuate any dry areas or texture and feels lightweight. On top of that, it stays on all day!
