Cons

I’ve never tried Melt Cosmetics products before, but I promise you, The Melt Cosmetics Twenty Seven Palette has been on my wishlist for so long!

Even though I knew Melt Cosmetics for a while, I never bought from them before. After a couple of raving reviews from The Newbury Girl and a good sale, I bought some products to test out. One of them had to be the Melt Cosmetics Twenty Seven Palette, but I couldn’t leave the website without the Nevermore Blush and a highlighter either.

Melt Cosmetics Twenty Seven Palette Review

Melt Cosmetics Twenty Seven Palette
Top to bottom: Naked Sleep, Downtown, Nip Slip, Moxie, CrimeFighter, 1 More Thing, Thick, Vegas Past, Whiskey Neat, and Moon Child.

Pigmentation

The Melt Cosmetics Twenty Seven Palette was very easy to swatch on the arm, even though the formula felt a little dry. The pigment was there right away but I was able to build up the pigment as well. The pigment on the eyes is just as good as the pigment swatched on my arm; I didn’t notice any difference in patchiness or application.

I noticed zero fallout but some tiny bit of kickback in the pan – this isn’t a big problem, as you can just tap off your brush and blow away the tiny bits of powder that are in the pan.

Formula

The formula feels a little dry when you touch it with your fingers; it’s not the creamiest formula I’ve ever tried. However, this isn’t really a bad thing either because even though it feels drier, it doesn’t end up looking patchy or feeling uncomfortable. It’s still a blendable, buildable, and nice-to-use formula.

There are only two metallic shadows in this palette, which isn’t that much. I do love my mattes, but I think I would’ve loved seeing at least 3-4 metallics in this palette to finish off the look. However, because of the number of mattes, this is a work-day-friendly palette and can be used every day.

Application

The Melt Cosmetics Twenty Seven Palette is very easy to apply and is pigmented right away, so you don’t have to put in much effort to build up the pigmentation. The formula is very easy to blend, so this also is quite an effortless process. It’s a very easy and beginner-friendly palette.

Longevity

The shadows stayed on all day without any creasing, smudging, or fading during the day. This makes this palette even more of a great workday option, as you don’t have to worry about how it looks.

Alternatives

  • Natasha Denona Bronze Palette: The Bronze palette contains similar toned shades, has more metallics (if you have the same preferences as I do), and contains 15 shades for $68. The formula is pigmented and creamy, even more than the Twenty-Seven Palette, so it’s a great alternative.

Final Verdict

The Melt Cosmetics Twenty Seven Palette is a very pretty, neutral-toned, and work-appropriate palette. The formula feels a little drier, but this doesn’t affect the application. The palette is easy to apply, blendable and buildable, and stays on all day.

I would’ve loved seeing more metallics, but this is just a personal preference and doesn’t mean that the palette is bad at all. Actually, it is a great palette for easy-to-create, natural-looking, and pretty looks!

  1. First, omg you look totally stunning!!! Second, I agree with you about the highlighters – you really have to get past that first layer of product for them to be more pigmented, but they’re worthwhile once you reach that point. Also, I’m jealous of the blush – I’ve actually never tried the Melt blush formula before!

  2. I actually don’t know much about Melt Cosmetics and haven’t ever looked into the product range. This palette looks gorgeous and the colours are very me. I don’t need anymore eyeshadow palettes but hearing how much you liked this palette has made me really want it :'( also, you nailed the winged liner, it looks awesome!

    1. I’m pretty new to Melt Cosmetics as well and I blame The Newbury Girl for introducing me to this brand ? I’m actually very happy she did – my bank account not so much lol! The palette is definitely wishlist-worthy but I feel you, I don’t need anymore palettes either ?

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it, especially from you because your winged liner is always perfect ?

  3. You did a great research about the product and really loved reading it. I must say I’ve no idea about agora pulse before and not even heard that word. While i’m writing this i am using buffer and hoot suite to monitor my social media’s. Both are good by the way I’ve to admit. I’m thinking to try agora and i will share my feedback after trying it.
