I don’t know about you but I have been struggling with creating a routine lately. I didn’t do my makeup, didn’t wake up early, didn’t dress up, and ended up not being productive at all. So I thought, why not try to change this? So I started wearing minimal makeup at home to see if it would make me feel better. Curious to see what I wear on a minimal makeup day? Then keep on reading.
Normally there’s no in-between when I’m doing my makeup. I just don’t wear makeup at all or I go for a full face of makeup. Now with the virus going on and I’m pretty much not leaving my house, I just didn’t feel motivated to do my makeup.
For some reason, I felt more miserable with the day. I was (and still am) struggling with being productive and this staying inside has a bad influence on my overall mental health. Thankfully the restrictions are lifted a little bit last week so I’m allowed to do the normal things but with proper distance.
However, on the days that I’m still staying home I just feel not productive and unmotivated. Not wearing makeup and being in my pajamas or sweat pants aren’t really helping with this either. So I thought, let’s start with wearing a little bit of makeup and see if this helps.
I created a minimal makeup look for when I’m staying in (I could go outside with this look too if I want). Let me show you which products I use for a day like this.
My Minimal Makeup Look
The products I’ve used for this minimal makeup look are:
- Kylie Cosmetics Concealer in Ivory
- Urban Decay Stay Naked Concealer in 20NN
- Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown
- Benefit Cosmetics Transparent Brow Gel
- Milk Makeup Blush in Werk
- Colourpop Cosmetics Highlighter in A Smile and A Song
- Chanel Waterproof Eyeliner in Black
- NARS Cosmetics Climax Mascara
- Huda Beauty Nude Obsessions palette in Light
- Kylie Cosmetics High Gloss in Slept On
How are you feeling about the virus and the restrictions? Let’s chat in the comments.
Are you wearing makeup while in lockdown? I would love to know so please leave a comment.
Such a pretty look, I don’t like wearing makeup staying home because honestly, I hate taking it off ahahhaha, I definitely get dressed though, every day and never work on my bed because this way I separate fun time from work time
I feel this! I don’t really wear a lot of makeup when I’m home (most of the time I’m not wearing any makeup) but if I do want to feel a little bit better, I try to put on some minimal makeup haha.
What you said in the first paragraph is me exactly. I’ve been working from home for nearly a year, so I’m really stuck in a makeup/fashion routine-less rut. I would like to see more makeup looks from you! Great job!

Thank you so much, Amanda!
Once the semester ended for me, I def felt a little lost/aimless with what to do with myself after being overworked for so many months. As a result, I literally stopped wearing makeup for 2-3 weeks when I normally wear “full beat” every day. Lately, I’ve def been rocking skincare-focused, natural makeup looks like this.
Makeup breaks are good for the skin so in the end, you did a good job even though you didn’t really feel like yourself!
You’re so stunning, loving the look! Especially the Mini Nude and High Gloss from Kylie! Sitting at home, I barely get the energy to do my make-up but looking at your posts, it definitely gave me some more motivation to create fun looks!

Ah thank you so much lovely!
Love this look. I haven’t worn any makeup during quarantine, and it’s been saving me some money by not using any foundation, woot woot.

Yessss for saving money!!
I feel you with being in a makeup-less rut sometimes. I work from home all the time (this happened before the virus even came about) and find myself never really needing to wear makeup/not having the time to put it on. However, I always make time to wear some makeup at the weekends.
But with a massive makeup collection that’s not getting any smaller, I think making my way through some of these products would be a good thing. Plus, I think it might help me feel more motivated. I love the look you created and that it’s easy to put together. I’m sure I could make some time in the mornings to do my makeup before I start work!
Oh yeah, I totally feel you! I even kinda feel ashamed when I’m not wearing (enough) makeup because that huge collection isn’t getting any smaller! By just wearing a bit of makeup, I feel more productive and I’m at least reducing some of the products I own haha.
Thanks for sharing this! I also have a huda beauty mini pallette that I am going to review soon
