It’s time for a new series yay! In this series, I’m going to test out multiple brands with the same products and compare them to see which product I like most. In today’s blog post, I’m testing out mascaras from NARS, KKW Beauty and Colourpop. Which Mascara Is My Favorite? | Beauty Battle
A couple of weeks ago I started to think about this series. My mom gifted me the NARS mascara and pretty soon after that, I bought the KKW Beauty Glam Bible Bundle which also contained a mascara. But then also Colourpop came out with mascara and at that point, I thought it would be a fun idea to test these 3 mascaras out and then give my final opinion. Moreover, these mascaras are priced from high end to budget-proof so we can investigate together if high end means better products or not.
Let me first give you all the details on the 3 mascaras I’ve tested out. First of all, all three mascaras are black. I tested all 3 of them multiple weeks so it would be a fair test. Here are the mascaras:
- NARS Climax mascara
- KKW Beauty Glam Bible mascara
- Colourpop BFF mascara in the shade Black on Black
Let’s start with some background information given by the brands.
NARS Climax Mascara $24 – 0.21 oz

KKW Beauty Glam Bible Mascara $18 – 0.28 oz
An intense black, mascara creates fuller and thicker lashes with just one coat. The long-lasting, ultra-creamy formula glides on easily to instantly define lashes.
Colourpop BFF Mascara Black On Black $8 – 0.24 oz
Introducing the BFF Mascara, she’s with you from thin to thick. BFF will never let you down, instantly lifts lashes while volumizing and lengthening in the blackest black formula. The unique twisted nylon fiber brush is shaped to comb through each lash from root to tip, delivering a buildable look that never clumps. Who needs flakes in their life when you have BFF? No flaking, no bs, just a ride-or-die formula.
The first thing I noticed is that the NARS Climax mascara is the most expensive one but contains the least amount of product. Even the Colourpop one, who is only $8, contains more product. That’s a little bit disappointing NARS.. However, by just the looks of the packaging, I do like the NARS packaging the most, the Colourpop one as second and the KKW Beauty one is number 3.
Just by the look of it, the brushes are very similar. I think the NARS and Colourpop mascaras look the most identical. The NARS brush is a little bit thicker. The KKW Beauty one looks a little bit messier than the other mascaras.
My top 3
First of all, this is my top 3. You might have other preferences, which is totally fine because everyone is different. 🙂 Moreover, I’m not bashing any brands. I just my personal preference for a mascara. And I’m not sponsored or paid by any of these brands.
- KKW Beauty
I actually did not expect this outcome to be honest. My first thought of my number one was NARS or Colourpop and not KKW Beauty. But after using them all, I just saw myself grabbing the KKW Beauty one the most.
So I actually feel like the NARS mascara and the Colourpop mascara are pretty much the same. They apply the same and they look the same on my eyes. That’s the reason I’ve put Colourpop on place 2 since it’s way cheaper and also contains more product than the NARS one. Both the NARS and the Colourpop mascaras are very nice and I definitely will be using them again but the KKW Beauty mascara just makes my lashes so long an extremely black.
One thing that you have to keep in mind when using the KKW Beauty mascara is to watch out for clumping. I feel like the mascara releases more product than the NARS and Colourpop one, so you don’t need to go all in on your eyes lol.
Did you try one of these mascaras? What were your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!
I hope you like my new series! Hope to see you next time loves,
