The Pat McGrath Labs Subliminal Platinum Bronze Eyeshadow Palette is the first eyeshadow product I’ve bought from Pat McGrath. The palette comes in gorgeous packaging and contains 6 beautiful shades. I have a full review and swatches of this palette today so please read on.

As you might know, Pat McGrath is a luxury high-end beauty brand. The high-end vibes start already with just the outer packaging. It’s so beautiful and different, I can recognize Pat McGrath Labs products easily. The actual inside of the products always look amazing too, the quality seems amazing and overall worth it’s the higher price tag.

Even though I loved the Pat McGrath Labs Luxetrance lipsticks, I felt like the price tag was a little too high since I’ve tried more affordable lipsticks with a pretty similar formula. I was very curious how this would be with an eyeshadow palette.

The Pat McGrath Labs eyeshadow palettes have been on my wishlist for a while now. I absolutely love the color stories of literally all the palettes. The bigger palettes are so beautiful! But let’s be honest, so expensive as well! I just couldn’t get myself to spend $120 for one 10 pan palette. I already felt like paying $62 for a 6 pan palette is pretty expensive but I waited for a discount before I actually bought the Subliminal Platinum Bronze palette.

Do I think this palette is worth the price tag? Is the formula better than other great brands? Let’s find out!

Indulge in a ritualistic rebellion of golden taupes, rich, powerful bronzes and velvet-soaked plums, leaving lids iced in a cool riot of glamour fatale. Mysterious and seductive, the entrancing formulations are alluringly blendable, releasing hypnotic pigments that flawlessly envelop the eyes in unfaltering elegance. Summon the allure of the ultimate enchantress in a captivating collection of colour that lingers with subliminal intrigue.

  • MTHRSHP: Subliminal Platinum Bronze Palette (12g / 0.42oz)
  • Creamy, soft textures ignite metallic pigments and amplify color.
  • Extreme blendability and adherence without creasing.
  • Pure color intensity.
  • Polished and bright multi-dimensional finish.
  • Emollient-like texture and glide.
  • One-stroke, fully pigmented, opaque color saturation.

The normal price for a 6 pan Pat McGrath palette is $62. However, this particular palette has been 50% off for a while now. If you’re thinking about getting, please check out the Pat McGrath website here.

Pat McGrath Labs Subliminal Platinum Bronze Swatches

The formula from this palette is very nice. The powders are soft and pigmented, which makes it very easy shadows to work with. Swatching on the arm is as easy as applying the product to the eyes. I had no problem at all, the shades blended easily and I mentioned barely fallout. I had a little bit of kickback in the pan but nothing bad.

The shades in this palette are more on the cool-toned side which I actually really like. I own a lot of warm-toned palettes so this palette is definitely an addition to my collection. I think the names are actually funny and cool, for some reason they match the palette very well.

Pat McGrath Labs Subliminal Platinum Bronze Review

Overall, the quality of this Pat McGrath Labs palette is amazing. As I said before, the packaging looks great and different than other brands. It’s also very sturdy so you can easily travel with the palette. Moreover, the cool-toned color scheme is a beautiful addition to my collection.

The formula is very easy to blend so I definitely think this palette will work for makeup beginners as well as makeup artists. The pigment is great as well, so you don’t have to go in 100 times to get the payoff you want.

The price is definitely on the higher side and I can imagine that not everyone wants to spend that amount of money on an eyeshadow palette. I would recommend just waiting for a sale! Pat McGrath Labs is doing a couple of sales during the year, but in my opinion, Black Friday is their best.

I have no cons other than the price, to be honest. However, I do think there will be more affordable brands out there with a similar formula which will work perfectly too. This palette actually reminds me of the NARS Voyageur palette in Suede. Even though NARS is another high-end brand, that palette retails for $38 which is already more affordable than the Pat McGrath $62 palette.

Would you spend $62 on a 6 pan eyeshadow palette? Let me know in the comments!

  1. These swatches are impressive! I don’t have anything by Pat McGrath yet. I most likely would not spend $62 on a six-pan palette, but the 50% price is easier to stomach. Your review does evidence that this palette is worth the price in every way, from pigmentation, to the ease of application.

    1. I couldn’t get myself to spend the full price on Pat McGrath products. Waiting for a sale is most of the time very rewarding! The palette is definitely worth the price tag indeed.

  2. I have the Sublime Bronze Temptation Palette, so I totally agree with you that the quality of these 6-pan palettes truly does not disappoint. The shadow performance and the packaging are so on-point. Also, your swatches are always goals!

My biggest gripe with the 6-pan palettes the way the price was jacked up. When these palettes were first released during holiday 2018, they were only $55. Then, all of a sudden, the price was raised to $65 without warning or reason. (Realistically, I think it was only done after consumers started to complain that the Holiday 2019 quads were more expensive than the 6-pans).

  3. Awww man I wish I got this palette when it was on sale because the swatches are divine. I thought the shades might be a little muddy, if that makes sense? But they definitely look amazing. I’m yet to get a Pat McGrath palette but the new Divine Rose Palette that’s coming out looks insanely gorgeous. I’m not surprised that the formula is brilliant, which you’d definitely hope for a palette that pricey!

    1. Yeah, I get it, it’s more of a cool-toned palette and these sometimes tend to look muddier. I mention this on my eyes with some palette but not with this one thankfully! The new Divine Rose palette is absolutely stunning!!

  4. I really enjoyed reading your blog it’s so inspiring and organized! I love the eyeshadow colors and would love to try new makeup looks out! I’m a lipstick hoarder too haha!

  5. I have had my eyes on the Mothership V palette for so long but I can’t justify the price, although this is more affordable and looks amazing I still don’t feel comfortable spending 62$ for it. Maybe if it was on sale the ND one I just got I could try it but no matter the quality, no palette is worth that price to me, I feel bad even getting Huda’s and they aren’t that expensive compared to this

    1. Totally feel you. Pat McGrath palettes, especially the bigger ones, are beautiful but so expensive. I wouldn’t pay full price for them either. I try to wait for a good sale! I did this with the Huds Beauty palettes as well lol. I got their bigger palettes during the Black Friday sale and I believe I got them for 40% or 50% off which obviously is a huge difference! 🙂

  6. Woww the pigmentation on these looks amazing! They actually look much better swatched than when just in the pan!

  7. That’s a nice palette for everyday use and I think it’s a good investment but $62 for 6-pan eyeshadow palette is too much for me.
