Review Of The Persona Blush Sticks
Once you open the lid, a vibrant pink and a dark burgundy show up. My initial thought was that Jam would be too dark and Bubble would be too bright and pink for my liking.
However, don’t be fooled by the shades. They’re less bright and obvious when swatched or on the cheeks. Eventually, they’re way more wearable than I initially thought when opening them.
The packaging is cute and quite small, which makes them great for traveling. You can twist them up and down with ease. Simple but working packaging, I would say!
Pigmentation
Based on the swatches above, you can tell that the Persona Blushes are pigmented; however, consider that I use multiple layers to make the color show up correctly. This is not just one swipe and not the pigment you get right away – but it does mean that the formula is buildable.
One swipe, a couple of dots of the product onto the cheek, or one swirl with your brush, will give more of a sheer to opaque coverage. I prefer this, though, because it gives me more control. If I want more color payoff, I can easily add more. Removing too much blush is a little harder!
I expected them to be a bit more pigmented with one swipe, though, so there was a slight disappointment here. However, as I said, thankfully, the formula is buildable.
Formula
The formula is super creamy and glides onto the skin if you apply the product directly, but it is also easy to pick up with a brush. Due to the creamy consistency gives you a more satin-to-dewy finish on the cheeks, which I love.
If you’re more into matte cream blushes, you’re probably interested in some of the alternatives I mention at the bottom of this post.
The formula is very lightweight, doesn’t feel sticky or greasy, and blends into the skin with ease. This makes it look very natural, just a very pretty flush of color to the cheeks.
Application
The Dreamstick Blushes are super easy to apply; you dot a bit onto your cheeks and blend it directly or swirl a brush onto the blush and then dab it onto the cheeks. It is also possible to apply the blush with your fingers or a beauty sponge if this is your preferred method.
The formula is really blendable, making it slightly too blendable sometimes. I noticed this during the application, especially with Bubble, as this shade is a little lighter, as the formula gets absorbed into the skin if you blend too long. This makes the blush disappear from the cheeks, which is a bummer.
However, you can avoid this by adding another layer or by just not blending too much. I’ve also tried to use the blush, then set it with setting powder to add another layer of the blush on top. This actually works well and doesn’t impact the formula or lasting powder in a bad way – it might look a bit less dewy, though.
Longevity
The longevity is quite good. I did notice a slight difference between Bubble and Jam here, as Bubble seemed to fade away quicker than Jam. This might be due to the difference in color payoff, as Bubble is also less visible on the cheeks in the first place, compared to Jam.
However, I would say that Bubble showed up for a solid 5-6 hours, whereas Jam showed up and stayed on for 8+ hours.
Value
I think the price is very reasonable for what quality you get. For reference, the Huda Beauty Stick Blushes are $1 cheaper but contain 4 grams less. Nudestix Stick Blushes are more expensive and contain fewer product. So you’re definitely getting a good deal when purchasing Persona’s DreamSticks!
Who Should Buy The Persona Blush Sticks
If you’re into creamy, opaque, blendable blushes that are very travel-friendly due to their stick packaging, you’re definitely going to love the Persona Blushes.
All Persona products are designed with sensitive skin in mind, so if you have sensitive skin, you may want to check out the brand in general. The Blush Sticks are no exception; with sensitive skin in mind, they’ve added skin-friendly ingredients and avoided fragrance (which can irritate the skin).
The DreamStick Blushes have a shimmer-free formula, are non-comedogenic, and contain two texture-friendly ingredients– Kaolin and Nylon-12 that help to minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines – that makes this blush formula also an excellent option for people with textured, acne-prone skin.
Based on this, I’m sure the Persona Blush Sticks work for every skin type! However, with only 4 shades in their collection, not every skin tone will find a good match. I think that dark to deep dark skin tones will have the hardest time, as I’m afraid these blushes won’t really show up on their tones.
Do I Recommend The Persona Blush Sticks
I do recommend the Persona Blush Sticks; however, I wouldn’t repurchase Bubble. I think the shade is cute, but it doesn’t show up that much, and my skin tone is fair to light – I don’t think many people can wear it because of this.
Jam, on the other hand, is absolutely stunning, and I definitely recommend her! It is a unique color, at least in my collection, with its cool undertone and in a very wearable berry shade.

Even though the Persona Blush Stick is a great option, it is not the only cream blush in stick form on the market. Actually, I think the following products have comparable features, high quality, and finish to the Persona Blush Sticks.
Nudestix Matte Lux All Over Face Blush
If you’re more into matte-looking blushes, the Nudestix Matte Lux All Over Face Blush Sticks are worth checking out. The formula is super creamy upon application but dries down matte-looking without accentuating texture.
As I said, they’re more expensive compared to Persona’s Stick Blush and contain fewer products which you should think about. However, the Nudestix blushes come in a tin box and are dual-sided, one side is the blush, and the other side has a brush.
Nudestix offers multiple Blush Sticks in different finishes. In total, they have a wide variety of finishes and shades to choose from, which is great and not something Persona offers.
Huda Beauty Cheeky Tint Blush Stick
The Huda Beauty Blush Stick gives a healthy flush of color and glow to the cheeks. Mind you, they blend into the skin once applied, so they don’t look SUPER dewy, but they still have this natural-looking glow.
The formula is creamy, lightweight, glides onto the skin, is long-wearing, and lasts on me for a long time, at least 6-7 hours. They last literally all day if I set them with a powder blush or translucent powder.
With a shade range of only 5 shades, the selection is quite similar to Persona’s compact range. Not the most variety, but I do think quite a few skin tones will be able to use the Huda Blush Sticks.
Hourglass Vanish Blush Stick
The Hourglass Blush Stick is way more expensive (double the price) than the Persona Blush Sticks, and contains only 6 grams. You pay a lot more and get a lot less product in return. However, Hourglass is a luxury brand.
It’s not the creamiest formula, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it applies differently compared to Persona’s creamy formula. The finish is more satin-like, I would say. It’s not entirely matte but not dewy, either. It provides a satiny glow while giving a beautiful flush to the cheeks.
The blush blends into the skin seamlessly and doesn’t accentuate pores or texture. Is it a good product? Definitely. Would I buy it for the full price? Nope. However, if you’re into a luxury item and have some money to spend, it is a great option.
Final Thoughts
The Persona Blush Sticks are affordable for the amount of product you get. The formula is creamy, glides on, and blends easily.
The formula is sheer but also buildable to the pigment you want. However, it is not the most long-wearing formula ever. Especially Bubble lacked a bit of longevity, even though it wasn’t extremely bad either (5-6 hours).
The formula is also lightweight and non-greasy, making it slightly too blendable sometimes, as the formula gets absorbed into the skin if you blend too long.
The finish is naturally dewy, so it’s not the best option for matte blush lovers. If you love a satin-to-dewy finish, you will really like this Persona Blush Stick!
