As you all know by now, I’m the biggest blush hoarder on the planet, and lately, I’ve been hoarding cream blushes specifically.
The Rare Beauty Cream Blushes called “Stay Vulnerable Melting Blush” ended up on my wishlist the moment they got revealed, and thankfully, I was able to purchase 3 different shades in the Sephora Spring Sale.
This blush is unlike any other because it is specifically designed to melt onto your skin for the most natural-looking flush.
The formula is also packed with good-for-you ingredients like hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, so you can feel good about wearing them daily.
I’ve tried the first launch of Rare Beauty products and wasn’t the biggest fan of all products, to be honest (the concealer and foundation were…. not it). This made me a bit hesitant to purchase other Rare Beauty launches.
However, the liquid blush was a huge hit and a product I still love using. Since I liked that formula a lot & watched a couple of different reviews from other influencers, I wasn’t so scared to try this new Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Blushes anymore.
Obviously, cream blush and liquid blush are different products, but I was excited to see and try these melting blushes. The packaging looks extremely cute, which definitely was part of me wanting these blushes, haha.
But the real question is: are these Melting Blushes as good, if not better, than the Soft Pinch Liquid Blushes? Or are they a massive flop to me? Let’s find out together!
What Are The Rare Beauty Cream Blushes
The Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Blushes are inspired by the soft, flushed look we get when we feel the most vulnerable.
The formula is a liquid-like cream that melts on contact for a weightless wash of color that lasts all day.
This first-of-its-kind formula combines pigments with a non-greasy blend of lightweight oils and spherical powders for a mistake-proof blush as you’ve never seen or felt before. Goes on smooth and seamless for a natural satin finish with a soft blurring effect.
How To Use
Apply The Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Blushes with a dense brush—or your fingertips!—to dab onto the apples of your cheeks and blend. If you’d like some extra color payoff, apply more layers.

Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Blushes Review
Rare Beauty Blush Swatches
First of all, the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Blush shades are gorgeous. They look brighter in the pan than swatched or used on the face.
This is not a bad thing at all, as I like a buildable blush for more control. The shades are still very pretty, even though they’re more subtle. On top of that, the formula feels very soft, almost velvety.
The texture of the blushes is very thin, feels creamy on the first touch, and dries down more powdery. Due to it drying down and drying down pretty quickly, you must work it into the skin a little faster.
Due to this, I wouldn’t say it’s mistake-proof as promised. When I was trying to figure out how to apply the blush, I noticed that if I didn’t blend quickly enough, the blushes would look slightly patchy.
Because of this, I also preferred applying the blushes with a brush over my fingertips, making blending a little quicker.
The blush texture doesn’t feel sticky or greasy, nor does it look shiny. Even though it’s a cream blush, it doesn’t have a dewy finish. The finish is supposed to be natural satin, but I feel like they look more on the matte side on me.
I see blurring when I apply the blush to the cheeks. The pigmentation of the blush is indeed quite sheer, and the formula was buildable until a certain level. If I tried to build up the blush too much, it actually started to disappear completely.
As if my foundation beneath completely swallowed it. This was quite a strange experience, but once you know how to use blushes, you can avoid this.
I felt like applying these blushes with a sponge or stippling/kabuki brush worked best. Applying it with my fingers or any other blush brush would look patchy or disappear completely.
However, when the blush was properly blended into the skin, it looked good. It didn’t accentuate any pores or texture and didn’t crease. The finish is very natural-looking and soft, almost as if it’s my own cheek color.
The longevity of the blushes isn’t bad, but it isn’t great, either. After 4-6 hours, the blushes visibly started to fade. To extend the longevity, I often apply a powder blush or a setting powder on top, increasing the longevity to 7-8 hours.
Slightly disappointing that I need another blush or powder to make sure it’ll last a full workday, though, as I expected them to be as long-lasting as the Soft Pinch Liquid Blushes. Other than that, I think based on the quality very fair priced.

Final Verdict
The Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Melting Blushes look absolutely stunning, the packaging is super cute, and the formula, in general, is lovely.
However, I don’t think these are very mistaken-proof and aren’t super long-wearing, either. I initially struggled to figure out how to apply these blushes best, but once you find out, they’re quite nice. I think based on the quality very fair priced.
