Clean beauty is coming up very quickly as it seems like we find this more and more important nowadays. I personally see myself looking for cruelty-free, vegan, and clean beauty more often than ever before. Not only do I want to be a part of saving animals and the climate, but I also think it’s important for my own health to be more invested in the products I put on my face and body.
You might be wondering what clean beauty exactly means? Clean beauty means that a product is safe, non-toxic, and has transparent labeling of ingredients. It is made without ingredients that could harm our health. If you’re interested in reading more about clean beauty, I would suggest reading the article Harpers Bazaar wrote by clicking here.
Whereas I couldn’t really care about ingredients before, I see myself looking at terms like “fragrance-free”, “paraben-free”, “talc-free” etc. a lot more lately and I have been investing in clean beauty products as well. For today’s blogpost I tested out 4 different clean beauty brands on my face and I’ll share my first impressions with you.
I really like this bronzer! The formula is very nice and pigmented. It’s a baked formula so it’s slightly powdery once you tap your brush in it. The payoff is great, you don’t need much product. The bronzer matched my fair-light skin tone perfectly and left me with a gorgeous bronzed face. Even though I love the Fenty Beauty Cream Bronzer in Butta Biscuit the most out of all my bronzers, I might prefer this bronzer over it. I haven’t tried a combination just yet, that might look awesome as well.
This product is amazing! The color is stunning, pigmentation is awesome, blends into the skin perfectly. Just like the Kosas Bronzer, you don’t need much product for a great color payoff. For reference, the Fenty Beauty Cream Blushes are more buildable, whereas this blush is pretty pigmented straight away. The formula feels lightweight and looks very natural, which I like. Moreover, I used it on top of different foundations and it didn’t move the foundation around at all. It works just fine with every product I used beneath and on top of it. Truly recommend this blush!
Normally I’m not that into liquid powder products and wouldn’t buy them. When I saw the swatches of the ILIA Eye Tints I just knew I wanted to try it. I was not disappointed! The formula applies easily but most importantly for me, it also worked really well with a brush. I had no problem blending this product into the layer of powder eyeshadow I had on already. It gives a gorgeous little bit of a satin look, so it’s not super shimmery but gives that little bit of a glowy touch. I must say that it isn’t really visible in a picture but you can tell in real life, once the lights hit it.
This product felt innovative and different. It kinda feels like lipgloss combined with lip oil. So it has the softness of a lip oil formula but wears like lipgloss. I really loved the formula since it’s very soft on the lips, not sticky at all, and pretty long-wearing too. I got a mini set which included 2 mini Lip Oils but I’m sure I’m going to purchase a full-size version once this mini is empty. I didn’t expect to like this so much!
