I found out about Mellow Cosmetics through Instagram and immidiately saw some amazing looking makeup products. Since I love trying out new brands, I got really excited and bought a couple of Mellow Cosmetics products. I’m trying Mellow Cosmetics Products for the first time! I’ve tried the products since they’ve arrived, so I can give you my in-depth thoughts on them and I’ll provide you swatches.
Trying Mellow Cosmetics Products For The First Time: Information & Why
Let’s share some information about Mellow Cosmetics and why I’m trying Mellow Cosmetics Products for the first time ever.
Back in 2014, Mellow started as a small company in a tiny garage. Ima, our founder, was on maternity leave after the birth of her first son. It was a joyful break from her full time corporate job. As she was getting closer to the end of her leave, she was hesitant to leave her tiny baby at a child care centre to go back to work. She did not want to miss all the amazing milestones of her son, Ario, so she decided she wanted to be an entrepreneur and work for herself. She did just that! She quit her job to follow her big dream…
Ima has always had a passion for makeup and fashion. She worked in retail for 10 years, prior to her corporate job, and she loved every bit of it! One night, she was watching a makeup tutorial and viola, her idea for Mellow was created! With a lot of research and hard work, she launched her very own brand – Mellow!
Mellow started with a range of only a couple of products and has expanded rapidly in the past 4 years! Our products are now being sold online and in stores across the U.S, U.K, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East with huge success. We cannot wait to expand our range much more in the near future and become the fastest growing makeup brand in the world.
Ima now has two boys and she says launching Mellow was one of the best decisions she ever made! She has the flexibility to spend as much time as she wants with her boys, as they are her main priority, and she is doing what she loves every day. Her growing team and supportive social followers have been a huge part of this success!

Moreover, Mellow Cosmetics is cruelty-free, vegan and paraben-free. I’m focussing on supporting brands who provide cruelty-free and vegan products since I’m very passionate about the environment and animals.

Products & Swatches
The packaging is really pretty, especially the Treasure Chest palette which has glitters all over. Kinda like the ABH Sultry palette but with silver glitters instead. I’m a sucker for glitters! I also like the nude with golden details a lot. It gives the packaging an overall luxurious look.
Treasure Chest Eyeshadow Palette
The shades inside this palette are very me and I love the look. The palette contains a mirror and shade names inside of the palette. The metallic shades are my favorite! I have to admit that the matte shades don’t have a lot of pigment, I have to dip in a lot to make them show up. The metallics, however, are super pigmented and so pretty. The palette contains 8 metallics and 4 mattes, so I think it’s still worth the money. Moreover, the palette is super affordable so I think the metallics are definitely making it worth it.
Creamy Matte Lipstick in Posh
Liquid Lip Paint in Auckland
Lip Pencil in Rose
I love the creaminess of this lip pencil a lot! I’m just not a lover of a normal lip pencil, I like them creamy and smooth and this one is exactly how I like it. The color is also very stunning and matches the liquid lipstick in Auckland perfectly. The liquid lipstick is slightly patchy while swatching it but you can’t really tell on the lips, especially if you wear the lip pencil beneath. The liquid lipstick has a nice formula, doesn’t dry down quickly though, but stays on for like 3 hours. The lipstick is also very nice and creamy, does look matte on the lips which I like.
Would I repurchase again? I definitely would buy another lip pencil and lipstick. I’m not sure about the liquid lipstick. It’s not bad but I do have liquid lipsticks which I like more.
Precision Pen Eyeliner
Last but not least, the eyeliner pen. It’s very intense black and does stay on all day without smudging. However, the tip is a bit stiff which I’m not really used too. I always use my Kat von D Tattoo Liner and that one is very flexible. So I had to play around with it a couple of times before I knew how to use it. Moreover, I think because of the stiff tip it’s a bit more difficult to create a tin line. This might be me though since I’m not very good at applying eyeliner.
Overall, trying Mellow Cosmetics products for the first time didn’t dissapoint me. I like the brand and they have nice products. I would definitely buy from them again and probably try some other products, since they have a lot more products to discover!
