What Is The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray is the real OGs for makeup setting sprays. This legendary formula sets your makeup and locks in your look, so you’re good to go for up to 16 hours—no touch-ups needed. With the Urban Decay patented Temperature Control Technology, this weightless vegan mist lowers the temperature of your makeup—from foundation and concealer to eyeshadow and blush—to lock it in place. The result? Smoother-looking skin and vibrant makeup that lasts all day (or night).

How To Use

Shake the bottle well to activate the formula. Spray in an “X” and “T” formation repeatedly (about 3-5 times) until the face is fully saturated.

Another way to use it is to spray your eyeshadow brush with All Nighter Setting Spray before dipping into shadow for a more vibrant, long-lasting color. Use in combination with metallic shades to achieve an almost wet, foiled effect.

Things To Note

The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray is cruelty-free and vegan. While also free of parabens and mineral oil.

Where To Buy

The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray retails for $33 and is available at the Urban Decay website urbandecay.com, Sephora, Nordstrom, and Cult Beauty.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray Review

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

While using the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, I especially noticed that the mist is super fine, much more refined than, for example, MAC Fix+. The spray feels refreshing on the skin. It feels like a very light, airy layer of water you get all over you. You will notice that the spray dries up quickly, and you don’t feel much of it. Where MAC Fix+ often leaves drops on my face, All Nighter doesn’t do that. I hardly feel it while spraying, which is nice. Fix+, and many other setting sprays, always make my face quite wet; All Nighter doesn’t.

Immediately after spraying All Nighter, the powdery effect makeup can have is gone. It feels nice on my skin and doesn’t sting or irritate. Although there are no nourishing ingredients in the All Nighter Spray, I also don’t notice anything from the alcohol and the silicones. My skin doesn’t respond to it, which is nice as I can have sensitive skin.

On top of the fine mist and no irritated reaction, I genuinely notice that this works. My makeup stays put all day. It doesn’t matter if I had a day of work, went to a soccer game, or sweat like a pig – my makeup will look just the same because of the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

Right now, I’m more of a dry to normal skin type, but I used to have more of a combination skin type; the only thing I noticed back then is that my t-zone got a bit more oily after a whole day of wearing. That’s it! My makeup didn’t fade, run, smudge, move or settle into fine lines. It looked the exact same as how I applied it in the morning. Still, to this day, and even though my skin type has changed over the years, the All Nighter Setting Spray is my favorite setting spray of all time.

The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray belongs to the first few high-end beauty items that I purchased when I started really getting into makeup ~8 years ago, I’ve gone through a lot of bottles in the meantime, and still – I always go back to it. And I know, back in the days when I first bought it, I almost choked when I saw the price. If you’ve never used All Nighter before, this feels like a lot of money for “just a setting spray.” But I promise you, All Nighter isn’t “just” a setting spray; it’s a life-safer or makeup-safer, if you will.

Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray is a mist that is genuinely worth the price; to have hydrated skin and good-looking makeup that doesn’t move throughout the entire day, $33 for 4.0 fluid ounces is a justifiable price for a product that performs this well. If you still think that’s a lot, you can start with trying a travel-sized spray. I’m sure once you’ve tried it yourself, you’re able to justify the price too.

Alternatives

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Dewy Set: The smell of the Dewy Set is excellent, and I prefer it over the All Nighter smell. However, the Dewy Set mist leaves drips on my face just like Fix+ does, and this is a con to me. Dewy Set does its job very well, it didn’t look very dewy on me, though, but overall performance is good. If you want to try something different than All Nighter for less money, this is a great alternative.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray: I would say that the Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray is the closest dupe formula-wise to All Nighter. I like how this one performs as well, but mind you, the CT setting spray is $36, which makes it a little bit more expensive than the All Nighter. Not the most significant difference to let it pass, though; it’s a great alternative.
  • MAC Prep and Prime Fix+: The MAC Fix+ has a less fine mist, as I often get drips on my face when spraying this, but it does have cleaner ingredients compared to All Nighter (which contains alcohol and silicones). However, MAC isn’t considered cruelty-free, and All Nighter is cruelty-free and vegan. Formula-wise, they’re pretty similar, even though I prefer All Nighter, and Fix+ is an excellent alternative.

Final Verdict

The Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray is, in my opinion, the best setting spray on the market, and it has been for years. I first purchased this years ago, and I still use and love it to this day. My makeup just looks better, wears way longer, and still feels comfortable after an entire day. My makeup never fades, runs, smudges, moves, or settles into fine lines. It looks the exact same as how I applied it in the morning.

  1. These products look great! I haven’t been following Kylie’s brand for a while but it’s cool to know that she branched out to setting sprays and brow products. I also love your photography here, so stunning!
