One of the products that were on my wishlist for NYC was the Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder. I’ve been loving their All Nighter Setting Spray forever and loving it, so I had some high expectations when I bought the setting powder. Curious to read whether my expectations have been met? Then keep on reading!
Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder
I did a huge makeup shopping haul when I was in NYC, curious to see all the products I’ve bought? Check out my post about all the products here.
I wasn’t planning on buying this powder in NYC, to be honest, just because Urban Decay is available in the Netherlands and I wanted to bring products home which aren’t easy to get here. But the moment I stood there in Sephora and saw this setting powder, it was in my basket before I knew it lol. It came in pretty handy too because it was so hot in NYC! Perfect time to test out if this powder is truly waterproof since I was sweating like a pig. Let’s start off with what Urban Decay promises us:
What it is:
A weightless setting powder that makes any foundation totally waterproof, for a mattified complexion that lasts all day, no matter what.
What it does:
Urban Decay’s All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder is like a magic wand in your makeup bag. This high-tech formula blurs the look of pores and imperfections and blocks shine without dulling your inner glow. Your personal luminosity shows through while the powder keeps moisture out.
No one should have to sacrifice a good look for fear of makeup meltdown. Cry, sweat, get wet—your makeup will stay waterproof and flawless for up to 11 hours. Your makeup will last through anything, so no need to worry about it—just live your life. Simply buff the powder over your foundation for long-lasting, locked-in coverage. Then, finish up with your blush and highlighter routine.
This feather-light formula is completely translucent, so it works on a wide range of skin tones and with any foundation. All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder smooths the appearance of skin, adds luminosity and extends the life of foundation, so there’s no need to reapply it, even in hot climates.
The Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder contains 0.26 oz/ 7.5 g and retails for $34. Might sound a bit expensive but you don’t need much of the product so it’ll last long (Addition: I can admit this is true, adding this a year later and I still haven’t run out of it while using it every day!). It’s available at Sephora, Ulta, Urban Decay’s own website, and (European) retailers.
As I said before, their setting sprays are a huge hit for me. I’ve been using them for at least 1,5 years now and I can’t imagine my life without the setting spray. This powder is an addition to the All Nighter family and she doesn’t disappoint!
The first moment I’ve got to test it was right after I bought it. The heat in NYC made me melt but because of this setting powder, my makeup still stayed on perfectly all day. At the end of the day, I didn’t even have to do a touch-up! This was such a surprise since I’m always a bit hesitant when brands are promising waterproof products.
By the way, the powder might look a little bit dark but it’s translucent. This way all skin tones can wear this setting powder over makeup.
After using the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Waterproof Powder in NYC, I was excited and ready to test this product longer. I can admit this product works though! Again, my makeup stays on perfect all day and I don’t have to reapply. It mattifies my skin very well, so I don’t end up looking oily at the end of the day.
The setting powder replaced my favorite powder from MAC which I had been using for years. I’m using this powder over my foundation or if I don’t wear foundation, to set my concealer. I still use the All Nighter setting spray to set everything when I’m done doing my makeup.
I would definitely recommend this Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Setting Powder!
