I know this title sounds a bit urgent and maybe even pushy BUT if you haven’t tried any Sigma Brushes before, I promise you I’ll explain why I think you need these 12 brushes in your life immediately. This is no joke and not another clickbait, these brushes are that good for real. you might be wondering why? Then please keep on reading!

When I just started my beauty journey, I didn’t feel the need to invest in expensive brushes. I actually started out with mostly Morphe brushes and here and there a Real Technique brushes. The Morphe brushes are the cheapest brushes I had in my collection and even though these brushes aren’t bad, some of them broke in less than a year of using them and some of them weren’t usable anymore after washing them twice.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t use Morphe’s brushes anymore because they work. BUT I think in the long run, it’s more expensive to repurchase brushes every year than investing in a good brush set which is probably lasting a lot longer when using it right.

When I had a couple of brushes that weren’t usable anymore, I decided to start investing in a couple of Sigma Brushes. I have heard a lot of positive comments about them and one of my favorite beauty Youtubers Kendall Alfred has been raving about the brushes as long as I am watching her.

I decided to start slowly replacing some of my brushes which weren’t usable anymore or the ones where the handle broke. This way I didn’t have to drop hundreds of dollars (or euros in my case) for a whole set of brushes. If you’re on a budget, I would recommend this. If you’re able to buy a whole set all in once, I think that’s the best option to go for since it’ll be cheaper in the end (bundles are mostly discounted to an attractive price).

Sigma Brushes aren’t extremely pricey but if you’re comparing them to Morphe, they are definitely more expensive. However, Sigma brushes are still very affordable when comparing them to other brands. I think their pricing is just a good general price (not too expensive and not too affordable either).

But why do I think that you need them in your life too? And why am I so confident you’ll love the Sigma Brushes as much as I do? I’m going to answer these questions for you at the end of this point. I’ll start off by sharing the Sigma brushes I have in my collection right now.

The Sigma Brushes I Own

The Sigma Brushes I Own

First of all, you might be wondering why I’m talking about 12 Sigma brushes but there are 13 brushes in the picture? That’s because I own the same brush twice so I didn’t make sense to count it twice lol. Now you might be wondering why I have the same brushes twice? Well, it’s that good.

As you can tell, I own a couple of face brushes as well as brushes for eyeshadow and brows. I’ll be sharing some close-ups and explaining a bit more about the purpose of the brushes.

Face Brushes

The Sigma Brushes I Own

The face brushes I own from left to right:

  • F30 Large Powder Brush – $30 each: is best used for uniform blending of powder products onto the face and body.
  • F23 Soft Angled Contour Brush – $27 each: is best used for creating a soft, gentle, everyday contour with powder products.
  • F89 Bake Kabuki Brush – $25 each: is best used for picking up and pressing on setting powder.
  • F80 Air Flat Kabuki x2 – $25 each: is best used for evenly applying and buffing the foundation for a smooth, lightweight finish. BUT I also use one for applying primer! One for foundation and one for primer.

Why do I love Sigma as a brand?

First of all, ff you purchased a Sigma Beauty brush from SigmaBeauty.com, Practk.com or any of our Authorized Retailers, and that beauty tool fails due to a manufacturing defect, Sigma Beauty will replace it. They offer a 2-year warranty on their brushes which I think is a great service. It also makes me trust Sigma because they wouldn’t provide this if they knew their brushes were bad, because it would cost them so much money.

Moreover, Sigma Beauty is cruelty-free. They do not test on animals and don’t sell their products in China.

Why do I love Sigma Brushes?

The most important part of this blog post is, obviously, why I love the Sigma Brushes so much. First of all, the handles are a little bit heavier than for example a Morphe one. This makes them feel luxurious and I think it’s nice to hold them as well.

The quality of the brushes is insane. I love the handles but I love the bristles even more. Every brush has its one type of bristles (denser, more fluffy, etc.) but I feel like Sigma knows exactly how every brush should be. Moreover, they look new after washing them which my Morphe brushes do not. The bristles of my Sigma brushes are still the way they should be and still have the shape they had before washing them. You won’t lose the shape of the brush which I think is very important.

All of the brushes do exactly what they’re supposed to do. Blending my eyeshadow became easier and quicker with these brushes. Also, my contour has never looked this good, and setting my makeup is ten times easier as well. The brow brushes are essential to creating a good-looking brow, without using them to fill in my brows and conceal the little mistakes, my brows wouldn’t look good.

The Sigma brushes helped me with upgrading my makeup looks and I’m happy I bought them because they’re worth the money.

Pro-Tip

I recently bought the Sigma Beauty SigMagic Scrub which is a super easy tool to wash your brushes with. However, I didn’t expect it to be so easy and so amazing. I raved about this on Twitter and I’m raving here again because WOW. I promise you, my brushes never looked and felt so clean! I’ll show you my Real Techniques brush after washing with the SigMagic Scrub because this is my oldest brush and it stained from all the blush I’ve used over the years. I’ve washed this brush a lot over the years but it never came out totally clean so I accepted that but look at this!

Isn’t it so clean?! I’m so obsessed with this little tool. Once the soap in the tool is empty, it’s possible to still use it. You can easily buy foaming and/or gel cleanser from Sigma and pretty much do the same as when you did when using the SigMagic Scrub. Love it!

Have you ever tried Sigma Brushes? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I’ve never tried Sigma brushes because they weren’t easy to find in Italy back when I was investing in brushes (now they are in sephora), I use Zoeva and Real Techniques but I want to get some new ones for my eyes so I’ll check these out

  2. I have a few of these brushes but my E40 has been used the most by far! The name is starting to wear off of the handle but the brush itself hasn’t lost its quality and I’ve owned this (and used everyday) for 5 years! They are some of the best brushes on the market! Great post ☺️

  3. I’ve only got one Sigma eyeliner brush and I love it. I’d love to get more but I just don’t need any new brushes at the moment. I don’t completely agree with you about Morphe brushes. I really like mine and think they’re great quality and do a really good job. Mine definitely haven’t broken and they look brand new after I’ve washed them, and I’ve had them for ages! However, I know Sigma is a really good brand and I’d love to try some more of their brushes in the future!

  4. Sigma Brushes are some of my favorites – the E40 is such a classic brush. Also, I really like Luxie brushes and I’m currently testing out the CP brushes that I purchased during the $5.00 brush sale LOL (I couldn’t resist). The brush cleansing device looks super cool, too!

    1. I’ve never tried Luxie brushes so I need to look into them! I have a couple of Colourpop brushes as well but I’m not reaching for them a lot, to be honest. I’d love to hear your thoughts on them though!

  5. I don’t have any sigma brushes of my own… but I’ve worked with make up artists who swear by this brand and their brushes! That magic scrub looks really awesome!

  6. My makeup brush collection is huge, but its 99% drugstores. I do have one set of Sigma brushes that I redeemed with points from my job. It’s more of a beginners set. A few of the brushes I really like, but some I never use like the flat foundation brush. Who uses those things anyway?! The brushes you have are much different and look like ones I would really like to try over the ones that I have.

  7. Absolutely loved this post!! I love Sigma brushes!! I used to use Mac and would always have the bristles left on my face and it was so annoying. They would also stain as well and for a brush at that price I did not appreciate it. Once I stumbled on Sigma brushes I refuse to use anything else now. You nailed it about the price point and the quality. They are just so good so I understand the urgency of this post lol!

    1. I had the exact same thing with my MAC brushes! Even though I liked the performance of MAC brushes, I hated the staining and the little bristles everywhere. Sigma brushes are just top-notch quality, I love them!

  8. I’ve had my Sigma brushes for so long! I must have brought them in 2014 if not before and they are still going strong, just about to buy some extra brushes so I can use them at work, struggling to put make up on at 4.30am, so going to take it to work and do it there instead, hopefully I will be awake enough by 7am! I don’t know if I can trust any other make, these brushes made such a difference, great to use and clean up so well.
