how it all began
Back in 2018, I launched Beautymone as a space to share my honest thoughts on beauty products. I’ve always been obsessed with discovering new beauty products, learning about ingredients, and chatting about them online with fellow beauty lovers. What began as a fun passion project while I was finishing my HR degree quickly grew into something much bigger.
After graduating, I searched for a job in HR, but deep down, I dreamed of turning my blog into my full-time job. Fast-forward to today, and Beautymone is still fueled by the same excitement I felt when I hit “publish” on my very first blog post.
With thousands of products to choose from, how do you know what’s actually worth your money? That’s the exact question that led me to start sharing my honest experiences. Over the years, I’ve tested and researched countless products—so you don’t have to waste time or money figuring it out alone.
My goal is to help you build a beauty routine you genuinely love. No pressure, no hype—just real, thoughtful reviews from someone who’s right there with you on the journey.

My name is Simone de Vlaming, a Dutch-born and raised woman in her 20s. I’m a beauty expert and passionate about all things makeup, skincare, bodycare, haircare, fragrances, and nails. I’ve tested thousands of products and have given helpful advice since 2016 (starting on Twitter!), and started Beautymone in 2018.
I’m a multi-passionate entrepreneur—I run multiple sites that dive into different areas, from beauty to personal growth, and more. You might see my face around on other platforms or projects, and yes, that’s me juggling a few passions at once!
I love working hard and diving deep into all the things I care about. Each of my projects is a reflection of what inspires me, and I enjoy creating content that not only helps but also sparks curiosity and creativity in others.
I’ve been in the beauty world for a while now, and over the years, I’ve built up a community of like-minded individuals who value honesty, authenticity, and real conversations about beauty.
When I’m not working on Beautymone, you can find me experimenting with new beauty products, starting some new projects, cuddling with my dog Bailey, or going to a soccer game of Feyenoord with my dad.
