- It is really hydrating and nourishing
- It doesn’t have that unpleasant self-tan scent (it smells like vanilla and salted caramel, omg)
- It’s very beginner-friendly and foolproof
- It has a buildable formula that always looks naturally bronzed.
- It gets absorbed by the skin quickly, so it doesn’t stain on clothes or bed
- The scent may be too much for some (but not for me, sorry not sorry haha)
I’ve recently tried out the Bali Body Self Tan Body Serum, and I’m excited to share my experience with you. It’s not every day that you see a serum self-tanner that promises a natural, streak-free glow without leaving your skin feeling dry or sticky.

Bali Body Self Tan Body Serum Review
About The Ingredients
We’ve got to talk about what’s in this magic bottle. Seriously, Bali Body Self Tan Body Serum is packed with some impressive and skin-loving ingredients. Let’s dive in.
Active ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, and Ceramides aren’t just fancy words thrown in. They’re powerhouses in the skincare world and one of the reasons this serum stands out. These promote skin firmness and elasticity, stepping up the game of any regular self-tanner.
Plus, they offer intense hydration and strengthen our skin’s barrier. So, you’re not only getting that sun-kissed glow for your selfies but also keeping your skin happy and healthy.
And here’s the game-changer. These ingredients work together to make lines and wrinkles less visible and even out the skin tone. Imagine looking sun-kissed, younger, and with your skin tone evened out. No selfie filters are needed; the Bali Body Serum has got you covered.
Well, it doesn’t stop there. This serum also includes botanical extracts, the kind that make you fall in love with nature again. We’re talking cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, coconut oil, and caramel.
Pure, natural plant goodness that nourishes your skin while delivering that sought-after bronze. No dry, sticky, or itchy sensations with this one.
We all know self-tanners can be a hit or miss. But it’s clear to see how Bali Body Serum has intentionally set itself apart. The all-natural, high-quality ingredients are more than a feature; they’re a commitment to healthy, glowing skin, and for that, it certainly seems to be on the winning side.
How To Apply
Despite packing so much goodness in one bottle, it’s fairly simple and straightforward to apply!
- Ensure your skin is clean, exfoliated, and free of old tanning products. You know how important prep is, right? A smooth canvas ensures an even application.
- Shake the bottle well before each application – it helps mix all those natural and skin-loving ingredients together.
- Pump a few pumps on your skin or hands, or – my recommendation – the Bali Body Luxe Tanning Mitt (I got my whole family hooked!). You can always add more pumps later on if needed.
- Rub the serum into the skin using long circular motions and slowly work your way up. Make sure to get all the spots, like your knees, elbows, feet, hands, etc.
- Wash your hands if you use them to apply the product. This is why I recommend the mitt: it’ll avoid a weird-looking tan on your hands.
Just give the serum some time to absorb into your skin before getting dressed – it doesn’t take long before it’s fully absorbed, and you can get going about your day. And voila! You’re all set to flaunt that sun-kissed look.
The Results: Bali Body Self Tan Body Serum Review
Whenever I try a new Bali Body product, it becomes my new favorite self-tanner. I absolutely love the Bali Body Gradual Tan and their normal Dark Self Tanning Mousse, but I’m also obsessed with their Face Tan Serum.
When I heard about the Body Serum, I got very excited; however, I also had high expectations. Let’s delve deeper into my experience with the Bali Body Self Tan Body Serum, covering everything from formula to feel.
It’s refreshing to see a self-tan product that incorporates a whopping 85% skincare ingredients. The serum strikes a perfect balance of attaining that sun-kissed glow, all while nourishing my skin. I love that!
Self-tanners can often be quite harsh on the skin – especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. That’s why this Body Serum is so innovative, as it basically works as a moisturizer/body lotion and self tan in one.
My skin feels hydrated after applying the Body Serum, even after I just took a shower, which normally dries my skin out, and I need a body lotion to get that moisture in. Now, I apply it instead of body lotion, and my skin still feels hydrated.
The results? Non-streaky! If you’re new to self-tanning, I think this product is very foolproof. You barely can’t mess this up. If you’re like, “Meh, not sure about those self-tanners,” – try this one and thank me later.
Application is the part where, usually, most self-tans fall short. You know, that sticky feeling, the transferring? Thankfully, Bali Body’s serum completely eliminates those issues.
It’s a non-sticky, no-transfer formula, suitable even for overnight application (which is what I did), + the serum gets absorbed by the skin quickly as well, so you don’t have to wait long to get dressed.
Actually, I got dressed quite quickly after applying the serum (maybe ~5-10 minutes after applying) as it’s cold here in The Netherlands, lol. Either way, it didn’t stain my pajamas or my bed at all!
You simply shake the bottle, dispense a few pumps, and apply in long circular motions. The rich and sweet summer scent accompanying the process is a treat. I really enjoy the notes of musk vanilla and salted caramel – it’s my fave!
The best aspect of this serum is the feel post post-application. It dries down/gets absorbed very quickly, and it’s so lightweight you can hardly recognize you’ve applied something to your skin.
This is the kind of product that you want to apply every day, just because it smells (like vanilla and salted caramel, oh em gee!) and feels so good! My skin never once felt dry, tight, or irritated when using this Body Serum, not right after applying it nor after a few days of ‘wearing’ it.
On taking into account the premium, all-natural, vegan, and cruelty-free ingredients coupled with the sleek application, long-lasting results, and skin-loving formula, Bali Body Self Tan Body Serum is worth the money.
Now, Bali Body is already a fairly priced brand, in my opinion. They don’t have one product over $35 (unless you’re buying a bundle with several products, obviously), which I think is great value for the high quality you get.
As you can tell, even beauty bloggers who use a lot of self-tanner can make mistakes lol – I washed my hands a little too soon, so you can tell that the self tan has been washed off a bit around my fingers and thumb. This is my bad – NOT the product.
What I really like about the Body Serum is that it truly gives a good tan – which is sometimes hard to achieve with a multi-purpose product. I find that it’s often moisturizing OR giving a light to medium tan and not both.
This product does both! The tan is quite pigmented, so you’re not just getting a hint of color you can only see if you put on your glasses. It’s a light to medium tan, which is also buildable. I haven’t tried it because I like how the tan looks now, but I’m pretty sure you can get it to look even darker if you add multiple layers.
The tan looks very natural, which is always important to me as I’m pale – not that I had to tell you that after sharing the photos above, lol – especially in winter, so a self-tanner can quickly look overly orange or really fake. The Bali Body Self Tan Serum gives me gorgeous yet natural bronzed skin that feels hydrated, I’m obsessed!
Final Verdict: Is Bali Body Self Tan Body Serum Worth It?
After spending some quality time with the Bali Body Self Tan Body Serum, I’d say it’s definitely worth every penny. It’s more than just a self-tanner – it’s a skin-loving serum that hydrates and nourishes while giving you a natural-looking tan.
The high percentage of skincare ingredients, including Hyaluronic Acid, ensures your skin stays moisturized and prolongs the wear of your tan.
The application process was a breeze, with no mess or sticky residue. Plus, it’s lightweight and absorbed so quickly that you don’t have to wait that long to get dressed or jump in your bed.
What sets this product apart is its commitment to quality and ethics. It’s made with premium, all-natural ingredients and is both vegan and cruelty-free. So, you’re not just treating your skin to a beautiful tan full of hydration but also supporting a brand that values ethical practices.
