Oh, how I love my Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick, but… wearing it daily and having to repurchase, maybe even multiple times a year, it can get quite expensive. Get the struggle?

Well, I came across a spot-on Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk dupe, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve tried them both on the lips at the same time and barely saw a difference – like I’m not even joking.

What might even be the best thing about this all is that the dupe costs 1/3 of the Pillow Talk lipstick. Sounds too good to be true, right?!

In this post, I’m going to introduce you to the dupe and share how it compares to the original Pillow Talk lipstick – I compare the formula, pigment, longevity… everything you want the tea on! Let’s dive in and let me introduce you to Peripera Ink The Velvet.

About The Original: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick

The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick is a magical nude-pink, matte lipstick with a long-lasting, buildable, hydrating formula featuring 3D glow pigments to create lips that appear wider and fuller.

This lipstick is exclusively enriched with Lipstick Tree extract, Charlotte’s secret ingredient, and orchid extract to protect and soothe for a cashmere finish.

The shade is created for everyone at every age and any skin tone, which makes it a universal shade, unlike many other lipsticks.

On top of that, it has a unique angled square tip that helps with precise application right from the bullet. No wonder Pillow Talk gets sold every 2 minutes!1

POSITIVES
  • Easy to apply, fully pigmented in one swipe
  • Comfortable yet matte-looking formula
  • Stays on for a good 3-4 hours
NEGATIVES
  • Expensive

One of their famous products is their Ink The Velvet Lip Tints, available in 39 colors and blended with jojoba oil, hyaluronic acid, and marine collagen to moisturize the lips. The benefits are:

  • Long-lasting lip tint with a soft whipped cream-like texture glides onto the skin and fills in your lips’ fine lines for a smooth finish.
  • Coat lips in a highly pigmented tint with vivid color payoff.
  • The velvety ink-like formula is ideal for gradient or full-on lip makeup.

You can apply them directly onto your lips, starting from the center and gradually blending outwards for a graduated look. For a full coverage look, apply the lip tint over the whole lips without any blending.

POSITIVES
  • A very affordable yet high-quality product
  • Super comfortable on the lips
  • Feels lightweight and is long-wearing
NEGATIVES
  • Not pigmented in one swipe

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk VS Peripera Ink The Velvet #22 Bouquet Nude

When I saw the two products beside each other, without trying them yet, I wasn’t so sure this was going to be a dupe. For some reason, I felt like #22 Bouquet Nude had a warmer undertone compared to Pillow Talk.

However, as you can tell, after swatching them, I was like, “Wait, this is actually VERY close” – there’s just a tiny difference, where I would say that #22 Bouquet Nude is slightly warmer and maybe a tad bit brighter compared to Pillow Talk – but you have to look very close.

On the lips – I don’t really see a difference. Again, if you were to look VERY closely, you may see a slight difference in the undertone, a tad bit more warmth compared to Pillow Talk, but this is me being very critical.

Shade-wise, #22 Bouquet Nude is a spot-on Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk dupe – yas! – but how do their formulas compare? Let me share the tea!

Pigmentation

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk is pigmented in one swipe basically, whereas #22 Bouquet Nude needed another layer to make it just as pigmented.

This does make sense though, as Bouquet Nude is marketed as a Lip Tint (which often has less pigment in one swipe), and Pillow Talk is a matte lipstick.

Both formulas are buildable, though – you can easily add another layer without making the lips look crumbly or accentuating the lip lines.

However, Bouquet Nude will become more pigmented, and Pillow Talk basically looks the same with one or two layers.

Formula

Since Pillow Talk is a matte lipstick formula, it does feel a little thicker on the lips – definitely not in an unpleasant way whatsoever; it still feels very comfortable on the lips, but if I compare it to Bouquet Nude, it’s just a tad bit “heavier.”

Bouquet Nude is very lightweight and applies like a liquid lipstick. It feels a bit wetter on first application, but it does dry down to a velvet creamy finish that looks quite matte.

Formula-wise, I feel like Pillow Talk is a bit more matte-looking than Bouquet Nude, which still has a soft creamy finish. The difference isn’t huge, though.

I do think that if you’re not a matte lipstick person, you will prefer the Bouquet Nude formula over the Pillow Talk formula, just because it is a bit more lightweight and creamy. Again, this doesn’t mean that Pillow Talk is uncomfortable.

Longevity

Actually, I think longevity is a spar between the two. I wore both of them after I took the photo for comparison to see if one side would fade quicker than the other, but they started to fade at the same time and equally.

The longevity is around 3-4 hours, depending on how much you eat and drink in that time period, though. I think that’s a very reasonable wear time for both of the lipsticks.

Value

This isn’t a tough one – clearly, peripera wins this round as it is only $9.68, whereas Pillow Talk retails for a steep $35.

Based on the quality of Ink The Velvet, I think it’s truly a high-quality yet affordable dupe for Pillow Talk.

Even though I love the original Pillow Talk and would still recommend it, if you’re on a budget or just not willing to pay the luxury price tag, Bouquet Nude is the perfect option for you!

Actually, depending on your preferences, it might be even better to just opt for Ink the Velvet. If you love a lightweight, creamy lippie that’s buildable and has a velvet-to-matte finish, go for Bouquet Nude.

Final Thoughts On Peripera Ink The Velvet #22 As Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Dupe

In a nutshell, here’s the scoop: We all adore our Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick, no doubt about it. But let’s be real – the daily lip glam routine can seriously dent our wallets. Enter the superhero of the story – a spot-on dupe that’s got us all cheering.

I went all CSI on this and compared the Charlotte Tilbury OG with the new kid on the block, Peripera Ink The Velvet. Guess what? These two are like lip siblings separated at birth. The color match is seriously uncanny – we’re talking microscope-level differences here.

Pigment game? Pillow Talk struts its stuff in one swipe, while #22 Bouquet Nude needs a double layer for full-on impact. But don’t worry; both are team players in the layering department. You can pile them on without any crumbly chaos.

Let’s talk feels. Pillow Talk brings the velvety drama, but #22 Bouquet Nude slides on like a dream. It’s all liquid silk vibes that dry down to this creamy matte finish. Do you want a little more matte oomph? Pillow Talk’s got you covered. Not a major showdown, just a subtle nuance.

Oh, and the endurance test? Drum roll, please – it’s a tie! Both lip buddies hang in there for a solid 3-4 hours of glory. Sips, bites, selfies – they’re in sync.

Now, wallet alert. Peripera’s in the lead with a jaw-dropping $9.68 for #22 Bouquet Nude. Meanwhile, Pillow Talk’s strutting its stuff with a cool $35 price tag. Quality and savings? That’s a winning combo right there.

Here’s the verdict: Pillow Talk’s iconic, no doubt. But if you’re all about budget-friendly glam or just wanna mix it up, #22 Bouquet Nude’s your jam. It’s like the cool, affordable cousin of the Pillow Talk fam.

So, lip lovers, the choice is yours. Stick with the legend, or give a nod to the savvy dupe. Either way, your lips are in for a treat!
