Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick
I can confidently say that Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick is worth considering if you’re in the market for a new bronzer. Its unique, blendable formula makes it a standout product in my collection. However, I’m not using it as often as I would like because of the shade Happy Sol. I’m glad they’ve added a more cool-toned/neutral-tone shade to the range, which I’m definitely trying!

Overview Of The Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick

The first thing I noticed about the Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick in Happy Sol was the packaging. It’s sleek and compact, making it easy to slip into my makeup bag or purse for on-the-go touch-ups.

The twist-up stick design also means there’s no need to worry about carrying around a separate brush, which is a definite plus.

As for the product itself, Happy Sol is described as a “warm, golden bronze” shade that’s blendable, buildable, and incredibly easy to apply – just swipe it onto the areas where the sun would naturally hit your face, and you’re good to go.

The Bronzer Stick is available in 8 shades:

  • Power Boost – true tan with neutral undertones
  • Birght Side – soft tan with cool undertones (new)
  • Happy Sol – light brown with cool undertones
  • Always Sunny – rich caramel with neutral undertones
  • Good Energy – medium brown with neutral undertones (new)
  • Full of Life – deep bronze with golden undertones
  • On the Horizon – deep brown with cool undertones (new)
  • True Warmth – deep amber with red undertones (online only)

How To Use The Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick

  • Twist the bronzer stick to reveal the product, and apply anywhere you’d like to add warmth.
  • Swipe onto cheekbones, forehead, and chin to build dimension and definition, then blend with fingertips, a brush, or a sponge.
  • It can even be applied to the eyelids for a warm wash of color.

Things To Consider

The Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick is cruelty-free and vegan, but on top of that also paraben-free, non-comedogenic, dermatologist tested, and water-resistant.

Ingredients

Made with Rare Beauty’s Botanical Blend of lotus, gardenia, and white water lily, this formula helps soothe, calm, and nourish skin.

Review Of The Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick

Picking the right shade wasn’t really easy as there were not that many options (in the meantime, Rare Beauty has expanded their shade range!), so the most obvious conscious for my light skin tone was Happy Sol.

To get straight into this review: I really dislike the shade. It is SO orange. As you can tell in the photo above, where I’m wearing Happy Sol, blended into the skin and using some left-over foundation that was still on my brush, it’s still too warm. However, it is definitely not my favorite shade. At all.

If you have a light skin tone (especially ones that have pink or neutral undertones), please skip Happy Sol! They now have a new shade called Bright Side that looks more neutral-toned – pick up that one instead. Because to get ahead of the review, the Bronzer Stick formula is worth it!

Pigmentation

The pigmentation of the bronzer stick is very satisfying. The formula is incredibly creamy, so you get a smooth, easy swipe of pigmentation on your cheeks right away. On top of that, the formula is also buildable, so if you want to apply more, you can do this without any problems.

This high-quality bronzer makes achieving a natural bronze effect or a more dramatic, sculpted look possible, depending on the amount applied.

As I already said, I really disliked the shade Happy Sol which is too orange and warm-toned. However, if we’re not looking at the shade, the pigmentation is incredible and easy to work with.

The finish is natural, not too matte or too dewy, right in the middle, giving a very sunkissed effect.

Formula

As I already mentioned, the Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick has a very creamy formula that literally glides onto the cheeks, making application easy and quick.

The creamy formula is a dream come true, allowing for smooth and even coverage, not patchy or greasy at all. Because of the creaminess, it is also very easy to blend it into the skin.

On top of that, the lightweight feel of the product on my face throughout the day means I don’t feel cakey or heavy. It truly has a skin-like finish that enhances my complexion in a subtle and natural way.

Application

It’s great for those of us who want a quick and easy application – a swipe on the cheekbones, forehead, or any other areas where the sun naturally hits, and you’re good to go.

The product blends seamlessly, leaving no harsh lines or uneven patches, making it perfect for beginners and people wanting a quick glam in the morning (or whenever).

I noticed that application went well with my fingers, a brush, and a sponge. I always prefer a brush in any case (I’m a brush lover for every type of product, lol), but it’s good to know that if you’re more of a sponge or fingers type of gal, you don’t have to worry about application either.

Longevity

The longevity of the bronzer stick is great as well. I think I noticed some slight fading at about 8-9 hours of wearing, which is not bad at all. It barely budges and stays on perfectly – even when you’re sweating.

I wouldn’t say it’s completely water-resistant, as in, I wouldn’t recommend swimming with it, but it can handle humid weather, sweating, or some rain for sure.

How the longevity would be on oilier skin types, I’m not so sure. I feel like it wouldn’t be very long-wearing on them, but I have no experience with this myself as I have dry skin. Based on reviews on the internet, it seems like it also holds on for oily skin types.

Value

The Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick is priced at $26 and contains 0.25 oz/ 7.0g, which is a fair amount for the price and quality you get. I have nothing to complain about the price!

Also, the price lies within the normal price range of Rare Beauty products – which is semi-affordable. The products aren’t drugstore affordable, but they are definitely lower priced compared to other high-end brands available at Sephora.

Who Should Buy The Bronzer Stick

I think that the Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Bronzer Stick is perfect for:

  • People with sensitive skin or prone to acne due to the clean and non-comedogenic formula.
  • People that purchase only cruelty-free and/or vegan products.
  • People that want a quick and effortless makeup look.
  • People that are on the go a lot and need a travel-friendly product.

And basically, anyone who loves a good, creamy bronzer with a natural finish!

Do I Recommend The Bronzer Stick

I do! Even though I don’t recommend Happy Sol to my fellow light skin tones girls, the formula is amazing, so it is definitely worth getting one. Just avoid Happy Sol, lol!

Alternatives To The Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick

Even though the Rare Bronzer Stick is a great option, it is not the only bronzer stick on the market. Actually, I think the following products have comparable features, high quality, and finish to the Rare Bronzer Stick.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand

The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand is, just like the Bronzer Stick, very easy to apply, even though it’s less creamy than the Rare Bronzer Stick. Both products are easy to blend, look seamless, and are pigmented.

The Charlotte Tilbury one is more of a naturally flawless finish and is more neutral-toned compared to Rare; however, CT is more expensive compared to Rare. It depends on your budget and preferences but I think it’s worth checking out Charlotte Tilbury!

Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Cream Bronzer

The Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Cream Bronzer is a great alternative and comes with a “build-in” brush as well – which is even more convenient for people on the go.

The formula is also creamy but a little less smooth, and the finish looks more natural-matte compared to Rare. The Mario Bronzer Stick is also a little less pigmented compared to Rare, which some people prefer. If you’re one of them, check out Makeup By Mario!
