Rare Beauty Liquid Blush Dupe: A Viral-Worthy Replacement

About The Original: Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush In Hope

I’m bringing you the inside scoop on a fan-favorite makeup item – the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in Hope. This little beauty is all about giving your cheeks that natural flush of color and making you look as radiant as ever.

As for the shade range – there are 13 matte and dewy finishes to choose from! But today, we’re focusing on ‘Hope,’ which is described as a nude mauve with a dewy finish – perfect for those who want their skin to have that youthful flush of color!

Now, let’s talk ingredients because they’re really something special here! This blush boasts a botanical blend of lotus, gardenia, and white water lily designed not just to beautify but also to soothe and nourish your skin.

Plus points, too, because it’s cruelty-free, vegan-friendly, and suitable even for sensitive skin types.

So how do you use it? Easy peasy! All you need are 1-2 dots per cheek using the doe-foot applicator included in the package, then gently pat into your skin using your fingertips or a makeup sponge for seamless blending.

Remember: less is more with this highly-pigmented formula, so start small!

POSITIVES
  • A very easy-to-use formula that’s super pigmented
  • It is easy to blend and buildable
  • Comfortable formula that stays on perfectly all-day
  • It has a satin-like finish that looks very natural
NEGATIVES
  • You can go overboard quickly, so be careful

About The Dupe: A’PIEU Juicy-Pang Water Blusher in Guava

If you’re wondering where A’PIEU comes from – it’s actually the younger sister brand of MISSHA. They offer high-performance makeup and skincare products specifically created for young women. Their holistic approach covers everything beauty-related – body care, hair care…you name it!

Let’s dive into the world of A’PIEU Juicy-Pang Water Blusher in Guava. It’s essentially a liquid blush that delivers a clear, juicy color with a soft and dewy finish. I mean, who wouldn’t want to have that fresh look on their cheeks?

Before you get too excited and start painting your face with this blusher, remember to shake well before use! Once done shaking, apply over your cheeks using the attached applicator and blend well with fingertips or a makeup sponge.

And if you’re worried about harsh chemicals – don’t be! All A’PIEU products are suitable for sensitive skin since they’re formulated with mild ingredients only.

POSITIVES
  • Very thin, lightweight, and watery-like texture
  • It has a very subtle pigmentation with a soft glow
  • Comfortable formula that looks very natural
NEGATIVES
  • It needs an additional layer for more coverage
  • I personally don’t like the nail polish brush applicator

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush In Hope VS A’PIEU Juicy-Pang Water Blusher In Guava

Right off the bat, let’s compare the shades. As you can tell, they’re quite similar! The Rare Beauty blush is just a tad bit darker and slightly more orange-toned compared to A’PIEU, which is more peachy-toned, I would say.

Shade-wise, this is definitely quite a close dupe! But how’s the rest? Let’s dive into this comparison, shall we?

Pigmentation

Now, I’m a blush lover through and through. And let me tell ya’, the Rare Beauty Liquid Blush in Hope doesn’t disappoint with its super pigmentation! We’re talking one or two small dots, and bam – you’ve got color that pops!

On the other hand, A’PIEU’s Juicy-Pang Water Blusher in Guava gives a more natural flush of color on the first swipe but may require an extra layer for my fellow blush enthusiasts.

Based on this, A’PIEU doesn’t come close to the Rare pigment – but not everyone likes an extremely pigmented blush. It depends on your preferences which one is better for you!

  • Rare Beauty: Super pigmented (one to two dots are enough)
  • A’PIEU: Natural flush (might need a second layer)

Formula

Now, onto formula territory. Both contenders offer lightweight comfort on your skin – perfect for those long days when makeup needs to stay put without feeling heavy.

But there’s a twist: A’PIEU offers an even lighter touch with its watery thin formula, making it live up to its name! However, it is not a runny liquid formula, thankfully, because I don’t like those messy “ends up everywhere” types of products.

Both products are supposed to have a dewy finish, and you can tell by the swatches that they both do have that dewy finish; however, there’s a “but.”

I do think A’PIEU looks dewier on the face compared to Rare, though. When you blend the Rare liquid blush, it tends to have a more satin-to-matte finish, in my opinion. The difference isn’t that big; check out the pictures below. I tried to show their difference as best as I could.

  • Rare Beauty: Lightweight but tends towards a satin to matte finish when blended
  • A’PIEU: Ultra-lightweight and dewier than Rare

Application

Next up: application time! Here’s where things get interesting because I’m giving this round to Rare Beauty, hands down. Its doe-foot applicator feels much more familiar compared to A’PIEU’s nail polish-like brush.

I mean, the brush works, and I could apply it to the cheeks directly or via my hand to the cheeks. But it just felt weird and unpleasant, sadly. It is a personal preference, though – some of you may love the applicator!

  • Rare Beauty: Doe-foot applicator
  • A’PIEU: Nail polish-like brush

Longevity

Longevity-wise, both products hold their own well throughout the day; however, there are some differences worth noting here, too.

The A’PIEU blush starts to slowly fade when wearing it all day. I would say after 7-8 hours, it started to fade, which is not bad at all! But the Rare Blush doesn’t budge. It stays on all day without fading.

  • Rare Beauty: Stays on all day without fading
  • A’PIEU: Starts to fade after 7-8 hours

Value

Last but certainly not least is the value. The Rare Beauty Liquid Blush clocks in at $23, while A’PIEU’s blush comes in at just under ten bucks ($9.46, to be precise).

Rare Beauty, in general, is priced very average – it’s not the usual high-end price mark, as they’re slightly below, but it’s not your typical drugstore price either. So, based on the quality you get, Rare is actually very reasonably priced!

However, you always have those products that are great and have a very low price point, like the A’PIEU blush. Depending on what you’re looking for (and your budget), both offer great value in their own unique ways!

Price
Rare Beauty$23
A’PIEU$9.46

Who Can Rock This?

I think the A’PIEU Water Blusher is perfect for people who may have tried the Rare Beauty Liquid Blush but found it too pigmented or for people who avoided the blush due to the talks about the pigment.

Not everyone is looking for a highly pigmented-blush – which is totally fine! And if that’s the case for you, I know you will love the A’PIEU blush. It is actually a subtle sister of the Rare blush, in my opinion – another reason why I think it’s a great Rare Beauty Liquid Blush dupe.

Final Thoughts On A’PIEU Water Blusher As Rare Beauty Liquid Blush Dupe

So, after all the swatching, blending, and wearing, what’s my final take on A’PIEU Water Blusher as a dupe for Rare Beauty Liquid Blush? Well, let me spill the tea one more time!

I’ve got to admit, I was pretty skeptical at first – mainly because I didn’t like the applicator/brush right away. But I have to admit that the formula pleasantly surprised me!

It delivered that fresh and dewy look I love about the Rare Beauty blush – and ended up looking even a bit more dewy, in my opinion. And it didn’t stop there. Its lightweight formula felt like nothing on my skin – just like its high-end counterpart.

There were slight differences, though. The A’PIEU blusher is less pigmented than the Rare Beauty one, but hey, not everyone wants an intense color payoff right off the bat! Plus, it built up beautifully for those days when I wanted a stronger, yet still subtle and natural, flush.

And now comes my favorite part – affordability! This product is wallet-friendly without compromising quality or performance.

To wrap things up – if you’re on a budget or simply don’t want to splurge on makeup yet still crave that dewy flush of color, then give this Rare Beauty Liquid Blush dupe a try. You might just find your new beauty staple!
