About The Dupe: peripera Ink V Shading #01 Almond Brown

We’re talking about a gem in the beauty industry: peripera Ink V Shading #01 Almond Brown. I’ve got to say, this dupe for Benefit Hoola Bronzer is making quite a splash!

Now, what makes it so special? Well, it’s all about versatility and blendability. This tri-color shading palette is like your personal makeup artist—it contours your face and evens out skin tone with fine micro powder.

You get two choices here: #01 Almond Brown for natural contouring and bronzing (perfect for those ‘no-makeup’ makeup days), #02 Cacao Brown when you’re feeling that more defined look, and #03 Grayish Cool works best for contouring.

Let me give you some bullet points on its benefits:

  • It defines face contours with micro-fine powder that enhances the shading effect.
  • The updated version offers even finer powders for super-natural blending.
  • Best part? It glides smoothly over your skin without giving off reddish or yellowish tones.

Applying it couldn’t be simpler. Depending on your skin tone, gently sweep one color—or mix two to three colors—on areas like your nose, chin, or anywhere else you fancy! Blend lightly, and voila!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer VS Peripera Ink V Shading Bronzer

Up top, we’ve got Benefit Hoola, and it’s bringing the heat – warmer and a tad deeper, and packing more punch in the pigmentation department. To get that beautiful color payoff, all it took was a quick swirl into the bronzer. It’s like instant gratification!

Now, down at the bottom, peripera brings a cooler and lighter vibe to the table. It’s softer in both texture and color. This one needed a bit more love – multiple swirls are required to reach that desired pigmentation level. The result? A neutral tone that’s oh-so-versatile.

And here’s a bonus feature for both: they’re matte but not flat or cakey-looking, giving your skin that perfect touch of natural dimension.

Pigmentation

The Benefit Hoola bronzer is a cult favorite for a reason. When you use it, it’s got a matte finish with rich pigmentation that blends seamlessly into your skin, giving you a natural-looking bronzed finish.

The cool thing is it doesn’t go overboard with the pigment, making it a breeze to work with. You’ll find that it blends like a dream and is super versatile – you can layer it up without any stress.

On the flip side, we’ve got Peripera Ink V Shading bronzer. This baby here isn’t as heavily pigmented as its competitor. It’s like the soft version of bronzer formulas compared to Benefit. With peripera, you might need to put in a bit more effort by building up the layers to reach the same level of pigmentation.

But here’s the good news – even if you just give your brush a single dip into this bronzer, you’ll still get a soft but lovely color on your skin. It’s perfect for those who prefer subtle contouring or want something buildable.

I do want to mention that the Benefit Hoola Bronzer comes in darker shades as well, so more skin tones can wear it. Peripera comes in just three shades that will work for light to light-medium skin tones only.

Formula

The textures of these bronzers are pretty much in sync – ultra-soft, finely milled, and as smooth as silk. To the touch, Peripera may feel even more silky; however, that does come with more powder, too.

Mostly, it’s just kickback in the pan, though – tapping off your brush will help avoid unflattering results. You know how sometimes those budget-friendly powder formulas can feel all chalky and refuse to blend in? Well, you won’t find any of that drama here.

Both formulas are easy to work with, are quite effortless, and blend easily. Both of them are also blendable and natural-looking.

On the face, they looked more similar than I expected, if I’m being honest. I was scared that the peripera bronzer wouldn’t be visible on the cheeks, but it actually is.

I still see a small difference because the Benefit Bronzer side is a tad bit darker or more defined if you will, but it’s definitely not a HUGE difference.

After all, not everyone loves a very visible bronzed face – if you love a subtle look, the peripera bronzer is perfect for you!

Application

As I already mentioned, the Peripera bronzer is a bit more powdery and gives some kickback in the pan – thankfully, this doesn’t have to be a problem if you tap off your brush.

You do have to build up the pigment with the peripera bronzer – two layers are needed (and maybe more, depending on your preferences).

The Benefit Hoola Bronzer is a breeze to work with; just pick up some product and swipe it on; you get instant pigment and color payoff, blends like and dream without any powder.

Longevity

These bronzers have great staying power! They held their ground equally and impressively. Even after a solid 7 hours of wear, they might have toned down a tad, but they were still visible on my skin. No patchiness, no muddy business – just a clean, flawless finish that stands the test of time.

Value

When it comes to price, peripera is the clear winner! It’s a budget-savvy superstar, coming in at just $13 for a generous 9.5g of product.

Now, let’s compare that to Benefit Hoola, which asks for a steeper price tag of $35 for 8g. Crunch the numbers, and you’ll see that the Korean dupe is a wallet-friendly gem, costing roughly one-third of the price for even more bronzer. We’re talking serious savings here!

There’s a mini version of Hoola available for $18, giving you 2.5g of product. Yet, peripera still takes the lead, offering more bang for your buck with significantly more product at a lower cost.

Final Thoughts On Peripera Ink V Shading As A Benefit Hoola Bronzer Dupe

I’ve swatched and blended, bronzed and contoured. And through it all, the Benefit Hoola Bronzer has been my trusty companion. But, I stumbled upon a contender that may just give our beloved Hoola a run for its money – the Peripera Ink V Shading.

You see, this little gem from Korea is not only affordable but also offers three shades in one compact! But we all know it’s what’s inside that counts the most. Benefit Hoola and peripera Ink V Shading bronzers each have their unique qualities to cater to diverse preferences.

Benefit Hoola stands out with its immediate and intense pigmentation, offering a warm and deep bronzed finish that’s perfect for those who love a bold, defined look. It’s effortless to apply and provides instant gratification in terms of color and formula.

On the other side, peripera presents a cooler, lighter, and more subtle approach, requiring a bit more product to achieve the desired pigmentation. This quality is fantastic for those who appreciate a more gradual build-up in their contouring routine, and it boasts versatility with a neutral tone.

Both bronzers share the advantage of matte finishes that don’t appear flat or cakey, creating a natural-looking dimension on the skin. They also boast excellent longevity, maintaining their appearance without any patchiness or muddiness even after a full day of wear.

When it comes to value, peripera takes the lead. Offering 9.5g of product for just £12.40, it’s an economical choice compared to Benefit Hoola’s £30 price tag for 8g.

Would I recommend the Peripera Ink V Shading as a dupe for Benefit Hoola Bronzer? Absolutely! It’s not every day you find a product that gives high-end brands a run for their money.

Ultimately, the decision between these bronzers depends on your specific preferences regarding pigmentation, skin tone, and budget. Whether you desire immediate, bold results or a softer, buildable effect, there’s an option that suits your individual makeup needs.
