After the rebranding of KVD Beauty, they sure wanted to drop some viral-worthy products to give the brand a new boost. The KVD Dazzle Sticks launched and ended up being a huge hit. Everyone and their mom on TikTok were raving about them, so the trend also landed on Instagram.

Now that I saw them on all platforms, I wanted to try them. I ended up buying two shades, Flash Storm and Lightning Strike. Today’s post will discuss these two Dazzle Sticks and if they’re worth it.

I know that I’m late on these KVD Dazzle Sticks, but when I wanted to get them, they were sold out, and when I finally got them I had to test other products first, and now we’re in 2022 already, and these puppies aren’t that new anymore lol. However, I still wanted to give them a proper review so let’s go!

KVD Dazzle Stick Information

The KVD Dazzle Sticks are loaded with brilliant flecks of multidimensional pearls to deliver long-wear, prismatic eyeshadow in a flash. This unique formula features a 36% water base with a cool, refreshing feel. As the water evaporates, the formula dries down to a smooth and lustrous finish, locking beautiful, prismatic pearl color onto lids, with no cleanup needed.

Don’t let the water fool you, these pigment-packed, vegan eyeshadow sticks deliver rich, opaque color that transforms any look with ultra-dazzling dimension.

How To Use

Use your finger to pick up the KVD Dazzle Stick pigment, tap onto your lids, and blend. Use a flat eyeshadow brush to pat the shadow onto your lids for the most precise application. Tips: No primer is needed! Get creative by combining different shades. I prefer using a brush to apply them; however, you’ll get the most pigment payoff with your finger.

Things To Note

KVD Beauty creates high-performance, completely cruelty-free, and vegan makeup. On top of that, you may know that Kat Von D started this makeup brand in 2008 but sold the company to Kendo in 2020. If you weren’t supporting the brand because of her, just know that she has nothing to do with the brand anymore. KVD now stands for Kara, Veritas, and Decora, which means Value, Truth, and Beauty.

Where To Buy

The KVD Dazzle Sticks retail for $22 for 0.11 Oz. – 3.5 g. KVD Beauty is available on its own website, at Ulta, and most Sephora locations worldwide. KVD Beauty also retails at Sephoras US, but the Dazzle Sticks aren´t available there for some reason.

KVD Dazzle Sticks Review & Swatches

I have to be honest because KVD Beauty wasn’t one of those brands with fire launches. They had, in my opinion, one great product, the Tattoo Liner, and that was it. I think the rebrand did them well, especially Kat leaving the company because this was holding back a lot of beauty lovers, but they also took the time to develop new products it looks like. Even though the Lolita Por Vida palette wasn’t hyped, I did like it. Then some of the best-selling products dropped, like the Good Apple Foundation and these Dazzle Sticks.

The brand has cleared its name and showed beauty lovers that they still had it in them to be popular, which I think is cool. On top of that, I’m happy they’ve kept the grungy tattoo packaging, as this is really unique in the beauty world. They caught our attention again! I’ve been interested in most of their launches and have been buying quite a few of their latest ones (such as the Good Apple Concealer, the Liquid-Gel Blush, and the XO Lip Gloss.

Now onto the actual KVD Dazzle Stick review; I understand why these were and are so extremely popular. I already thought they looked pretty on others, but seeing for yourself made it clear for me. The formula is super creamy, so it glides on and is pigmented right from the start. Due to the creaminess, it is prone to breaking, so don’t push too hard.

A creamy shadow often ends up not being long-wearing, but these Dazzle Sticks stick to your eyes once you have them on. I’ve never experienced smudging, moving, fading, or anything that made it look bad. It looked like I just applied it all the time, even after wearing it all day.

I wouldn’t really say that the shades I got have that wet look, I feel like only Surge Hail has this, and I couldn’t purchase this shade due to it being sold out. However, they still look remarkable, so it’s not bothering me. I also didn’t notice any fallout, which I think is great.

Some of these KVD Dazzle Sticks have a great duochrome effect; Flash Storm is one of them. At first, it has a greyish, purple look, but the glitters are blue. The effect is really pretty! Lightning Strike doesn’t have this duochrome shift but is a very pretty bronze. Just mind that these are pigmented, super sparkly eyeshadow sticks that may not work appropriately for everyone.

However, if you want to add a little sparkle to your eyeshadow look, you can softly tap them onto your lids for a softer, shimmery effect. As you can tell, they’re unique, versatile, and easy to use!
