I’m not really sure why it took me so long to finally try some products from Bobbi Brown. I think I’ve been looking at their products since I’m 16 years old and I’m now 23 years old… It took me way too long to test out and do a Bobbi Brown Review! But better once than never I guess, so it’s finally time to try out my first Bobbi Brown products, the Love In The Afternoon Eyeshadow palette and the Crushed Liquid Lipstick in the shade Juicy Date.
As usual, I went for something more neutral. So I bought the Love In The Afternoon eyeshadow palette and the Crushed Liquid Lipstick in the shade Juicy Date because I know these colors are something I like and within my comfort zone. I know, pretty boring lol.
The Love In The Afternoon palette caught my attention immediately when I was browsing the website. The packaging is actually pretty out there and the shades inside the palette are literally my go-to shades, so I had to pick this beauty up. It retails for $39. I just looked over at the Bobbi Brown website, but I can’t find the palette anymore so I guess it was a limited edition palette?
Then I picked Juicy Date Crushed Liquid Lipstick because I thought it would fit the palette color scheme perfectly. Juicy Date is a pinkish brown and retails for $27.
Love In The Afternoon Eyeshadow Palette | Bobbi Brown Review
First of all, I didn’t know and didn’t expect this palette to be limited edition. I thought this was a palette from their permanent collection. Even though it’s not on Bobbi Brown’s website anymore, it is still available at Sephora. If you liked this Bobbi Brown review and especially the palette, I would say be quick because once it’s sold out it’s not coming back.
Some of the colors in this palette are close to my skin tone, this made it hard for them to show up on my arm. However, they performed fine on the eyes so there’s no lack of pigment. This palette is giving me Valentine’s vibes, due to the rosy and pinkish shades in the palette. I really like the vibe of the palette for sure, totally my colors!
The shimmer shades aren’t super metallic, they’re more like a soft shimmer as you can see on the picture above. I don’t really mind that. If I want to add more shimmer, I would add a Kylie Cosmetics Eye Glaze.
Overall, I do think this is a beautiful neutral eyeshadow palette. It’s possible to play around with a more brown look or a more pinkish look, mattes, and shimmers.
Juicy Date Crushed Liquid Lipstick | Bobbi Brown Review
I’m actually not really sure if I have a similar lipstick in my collection. Shade wise, probably yes but the formula is different than others. It’s not a gloss, it’s not matte, it’s not creamy. If you apply this on the lips, it actually feels like a lip balm but you still have a nice tint to the lips. It doesn’t dry down matte, but it isn’t as glowy as a gloss either. I like how it looks though and especially how it feels on the lips! The pigmentation is more like a lip tint, it’s not super pigmented but doesn’t lack pigmentation either.
As you can tell, it’s pretty hard to describe this formula lol. But I actually like how comfortable this formula is and how it looks on my lips as well. I would totally recommend this one!
The Crushed Liquid Lipstick is available on Bobbi Brown’s website and Sephora.
Have you ever tried a Bobbi Brown product?
OKay, that lipstick colour looks amazing!
I think so too, it’s a beautiful pinkish nude! 🙂
I agree with you on the v-day vibes … I was SO tempted to pick up one of the Bobbi Brown Palettes on sale during Sephora’s “sale on sale” promo but held back. I have too many items that I need to work through first!! These both looked super lovely though!
So good you were able to hold back!! It’s lovely but you probably have something like this in your collection already ?
