A couple of years ago I discovered self-tanning products. Well, body lotions with a little tan in it, because I was pretty scared to actually self-tan. I can imagine that you’re feeling the same or you just don’t really know how to start. In today’s blog post I’m not only reviewing Bali Body’s self-tanning products, but I’ll also be sharing in full detail how to self tan!

It can be pretty intimidating if you want to self tan for the first time. You might be scared that you mess it up and need to walk around with stripes everywhere. No more worries! In this blog post, I’m going to share in detail how to self tan, all the important steps and things you need to know before and while you’re self tanning!

How to self tan?

How to self tan

Let’s talk about the steps you need to take before you actually start self tanning.

  • It’s actually important to exfoliate before you self tan to make sure you’ll have an even streak free tan. Make sure you do this 24 hours prior to application.
  • After exfoliating, it is important to hydrate your skin with a moisturizing body cream/oil/lotion. Don’t forget areas like knees, elbows, ankles, and feet.
  • Also make sure your face is exfoliated, clean and dry before you start self tanning.

How to apply self tan?

Now that we’re exfoliated and moisturized, we’re ready to take the next step! Applying the self tan products to our body. Bali Body also gifted me their tanning mitt and it makes applying self tanning products so much easier. The mitt is super soft, applies smooth and your hands will be stain free. Most important, it helps you to apply self tanning products streak free.

Directions on how to use a tanning mitt:

  • Hand wash the mitt before use and allow to dry before using.
  • Place your hand into the mitt.
  • Pump the Bali Body Self Tan (or any other brand) into the mitt.
  • Work the product into your skin with long, circular movements.
  • Ensure the product is applied evenly across your skin.
  • Handwash your mitt once finished.

So this is the Self Tanning Mousse from Bali Body which I’m using to self tan. I put it on my mitt and gently working the product into the skin with circular movements. The mousse works very nice and it was so easy to apply this all over my legs. Using this mousse and the mitt, self tanning is done in a couple of minutes. I would really recommend the self tanning mousse and the mitt, both work perfectly together! After applying the mousse, you immediately can tell there’s a tan difference. It dries pretty quickly so putting on clothes isn’t a problem at all.

Before and After

Left picture are my legs without any self tanning products, the right picture is me after using the Bali Body Self Tanning Mousse, an hour after 1 layer application. I can definitely see a difference! It’s getting slightly darker after time passes.

Self tan + Shimmering oil

On both pictures I’m wearing the Bali Body Shimmering Body Oil. How pretty does this look?! I love the combination. My legs never looked so good (I know I don’t have pretty legs, I actually hate them but with this self tan and shimmering oil they aren’t looking that bad!).

Face Tan Water

How To Self Tan Using Bali Body Products | Review ⋆ Beautymone

I was so curious to try this since I’ve never used Face Tan Water before! Actually, I wish I would’ve known this a lot earlier! My face and neck don’t easily tan. Most of the time, I just reach a point and don’t tan any further. This might actually be my life saver and help me look tanner in my wash and neck!

Before and After

Left picture was before any Face Tan Water on my face, right picture is after using the Face Tan Water. Yes, I’ve put some fake brows on my face because I felt too insecure to post a bare face picture lol. But see the difference!! I like how it looks. It’s not fake at all and it gives you a soft glow as well.

The application was very easy! Just put some product on a cotton pad and wipe it all over your face, just like a toner. Very easy! The smell is slightly strong but after applying you won’t smell it anymore. It also didn’t dry out or irritate my skin.

Overall Thoughts

I’m very enthusiastic about both the products and the mitt. My most favorite product is the Self Tan Face Water since I think it’s very innovative and I haven’t seen this before. The Self Tanning Mouse is very nice as well, easy to apply and the tan I have from this is perfect. Both the products give me a natural tan, without streaks! I’m officially ready for Summer!

Would you like to try these products?

Hope to see you next time loves,
