Lip gloss lovers, I’ve got a treat for you! Trust me when I say that the new NYX Lip Oils are definitely worth your attention. This lip gloss/lip oil hybrid has been making waves in the beauty community, and it’s easy to see why.

What makes this product stand out? It’s all about the formula. The NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip isn’t just your ordinary lip gloss.

It’s an ultra-shiny, high-impact gloss that promises to deliver a soft hint of color while keeping your lips hydrated and plump – all thanks to its unique blend of oils like raspberry oil, cloudberry oil, and vegan squalane.

Let’s dive into my personal experience with this product. From testing its performance to evaluating its wearability, here are my thoughts on whether or not the buzz around NYX Lip Oils lives up to expectations.

Overview Of NYX Lip Oils

I’m thrilled to dive into the world of NYX’s latest offering, the Fat Oil Lip Drip Gloss. As a product that promises high shine and intense hydration, it’s hard not to be intrigued by its potential.

NYX is a brand I’ve always admired for its affordability and quality. They seem to keep hitting home runs with their new releases, and I also had high expectations from this lip gloss.

When you look at this product, you’ll notice its cute packaging. Its tube-like design is sleek and compact, making it easy to carry around in my purse.

The Fat Oil Lip Drip Gloss boasts an array of eight universally-flattering shades. The names of the shades are:

  1. Status Update
  2. My Main
  3. Missed Call
  4. Supermodel
  5. That’s Chic
  6. Newsfeed
  7. Follow Back
  8. Scrollin’

One thing that stood out was how easily it glides onto the lips thanks to its doe-foot applicator. It makes precise application effortless, even without a mirror!

A major selling point here is its rich formula infused with raspberry oil, cloudberry oil, and vegan squalane, known for its nourishing properties. These don’t just add shine; they ensure your lips stay moisturized throughout wear time.

How To Use

Apply the lip oil gloss to bare lips for a hint of color and long-lasting hydration. Wear it alone or layer it over a lip liner or lipstick for added color and shine.

Review Of NYX Lip Oils

Pigmentation

The NYX Lip Oils are supposed to have a soft sheer color, so we shouldn’t expect full coverage pigment. They still do have a decent amount of color payoff, for sure.

The only thing that is a little bit of a bummer is that the glosses look quite similar when on the lips. I mean, this happens with most of the glosses in my collection, especially if they only have a soft color to them.

It’s not really a bad thing; however, it might not be necessary to get multiple shades. Or at least not multiple shades that have a similar undertone or color family.

Formula

Firstly, let’s talk about its consistency. The texture of this lip gloss is silky smooth and doesn’t leave behind any sticky residue. It glides effortlessly on the lips while giving them an intense shine that lasts quite a while.

Unlike many other products, this one does not dry out your lips. Infused with beneficial oils like jojoba and sweet almond oil, it ensures your lips stay moisturized throughout the day.

It actually a very comfortable-wearing lip product that feels like lip oil and wears like a gloss, which I truly love about this.

Application

On application, it feels light and non-sticky while providing a noticeable plumping effect on your lips. It doesn’t just look good but also feels amazing on the lips – like treating them with a burst of hydration.

The applicator is quite big, making it easy to apply to the lips and spread over your lips. It’s not perfect for very precise application though, but it doesn’t bother me much.

Longevity

As it is a gloss/lip oil formula, don’t expect a very long wear time. However, it has a decent longevity of 1-2 hours. It then gets absorbed into the lips or fades when eating/drinking. It will stand against a little snack, definitely not a whole meal.

It’s definitely not bad. I’ve tried other lip oils and glosses that were gone without half an hour; yes, Dior Lip Oils, I’m looking at you! So I’m not disappointed here.

Value

The affordable price for these amazing lip oils is definitely an extra benefit. I actually liked these NYX Lip Oils more than Dior or Clarins which are way more expensive.

You get high-quality products for an amazing price, so it’s definitely worth trying!

Do I Recommend The NYX Lip Oils

Yes! I really love wearing these, as I’m into a glossy lips nowadays, yet they’re very comfortable and non-sticky. They make my lips feel smooth and soft as well, just like a lip balm.

Alternatives To The NYX Lip Oils

NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip Lip Gloss has been a game-changer in my beauty regimen, but let’s see how it stacks up against other popular brands.

Clarins Lip Oil

The Clarins Lip Oils are quite similar to the NYX Fat Oil, as these also give the lips a gorgeous high-shine finish and are comfortable to wear. The biggest con of the Clarins Lip Oils is the price. They’re quite expensive, especially compared to NYX.

If you’ve tried the Clarins ones and liked them but want a more affordable option, than try the NYX ones, as I’m sure you’ll love them!

Dior Lip Oil

The Dior Lip Oils actually disappointed me. They weren’t long-wearing (as in, they wear gone within 30 minutes) and they shine wasn’t what I expected either.

I would recommend the NYX Lip Oils over the Dior Lip Oils, to be honest. Based on the formula but also on the price!

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb

Even though the NYX Lip Oil is an oil/gloss hybrid, I still wanted to compare it to the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer, as this is a very comfortable gloss formula, in my opinion.

Fenty’s lip gloss is enriched with shea butter that offers top-notch hydration. However, this gloss costs almost four times that of the beloved NYX gloss!

Final Thoughts

So there you have it. After trying out the NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip, I’ve come to a few conclusions. One thing’s for sure: this lip gloss is not your average run-of-the-mill product.

The texture? It’s something to write home about. The oil-infused formula makes for a smooth application without any sticky residue left behind. So if it’s comfort you’re after, this lip drip delivers in spades.

It may not be the most long-wearing product, but it’s a lip oil, so I’m not really expecting it to stay on for hours.

What about the color pay-off, you ask? Well, let me tell you – it doesn’t disappoint either! There’s just enough pigment to give your lips that lovely pop of color without going overboard. Plus, the range of shades available means there’s something for everyone.

Now let’s talk hydration. This stuff leaves your lips feeling moisturized and soft as silk all day long. Dry-lipped gals like me will definitely appreciate this little bonus!

Positives
  • Gorgeous high-shine finish
  • Non-sticky texture
  • Decent color pay-off
  • Excellent hydration
Negatives
  • Shades look similar on the lips
  • Not very long-wearing

But don’t just take my word for it – try out the NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip yourself! You might find it becoming a staple in your makeup bag before too long.

Just remember: beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all. What works wonders for me may not be your cup of tea – but hey, that’s what makes us unique! Keep exploring until you find what suits YOU best.
